Thanks for great video instruction. I have a question. Do we need to enter the VSA maintenance mode to shift the gears before check the fluid level? Thanks again
@@Cargorage can you not put it in vsa maint mode and just turn engine on and run it through R, N,D,S gears or do you need to run it through D1, D2, etc which can't be obtained unless driving??
i have a 2018 - i don't go to Honda for nothing because they are crazy expensive. i had my fluid drained and filled at 73k miles. i am not at 92k miles. how often should i change the ATF? I spoke with the shop that did it, they recommend every 60k per guidelines. i hear some people say 30k miles.
I tried to remove the fill and the lower side plug and I couldn't budge either one. I'm going to take the Acura MDX to a local mechanic and see what they can do. I bought a new hex head plug for the side. From what I have read the thread size is a 18 mm x1.5. what a pain!
Yes, they are a bit of a fight to loosen. I used a 1/2 inch xtra long ratchet to undo once before. Or if you have a 3/8 ratchet extendable, that will do just right. GL
@@Cargorage , I took the car to the local mechanic and they got it done. The car shifts great now and the gas mileage is already looking good. I should be able to do the next fill and drain a lot easier.
ruclips.net/video/VVsBuTYBxug/видео.html this video would be the closest one of how to replace the rear pads and rotors on honda odyssey with electric parking brake. Meanwhile ill try to make a video when i have a job like that on odyssey
@@Cargorage My breather hose next to the transmission fill plus does not have a cap on the top of hose. Is it supposed to have a cap or remain open where you can see down inside?
I was looking at the tcm datalist on a scanner. That 5mins is just rough guess from cold engine. BUT IT'S BETTER to drain the fluid at operating temperature. So make sure to check the datalist if u have a scanner.
I used scan tool, in the datalist look for (transmission fluid). If you have access to scan tool great if not. From cold engine, run it for 5 minutes or less. It should reach spec temperature.
Thanks for great video instruction.
I have a question.
Do we need to enter the VSA maintenance mode to shift the gears before check the fluid level?
Thanks again
Yessur. You have to enter vsa maint mode to shift gears in paddle shifter.
Thank you sir@@Cargorage

60k i would recommend . For my car normally if the manufacture says 80k then ill go 40k. Thats just me doe.

Thanks love for ur support
can you show how to change the rear rotors and brakes?

@@Cargorage Is the MDX and 2018 Odyssey have the same rear brake?
@@katobrly9963 yes very similar
airbox is held by 2 clips, it was worth removing.
What is the black tube next to the fill plug used for? I found it completely detached on transmission end. Put it back on or not?
Thats a breather hose. Put it back on.
@@Cargorage My breather hose next to the transmission fill plus does not have a cap on the top of hose. Is it supposed to have a cap or remain open where you can see down inside?
I think that's how it is factory, its in a bend.
@@Cargorage so it is okay to have the top of that breather hose with no cover (just an open hole)?
If it is in a bend, yes. If not then try to improvise it.
isn't there a in line filter to change?
No sir. I don't think so.
💪💪💪💪💪💪 thanks good job 🙏🙏
What did you use to check transmission temperature besides running it at 2500 rpms for 5 minutes

@@Cargorage what brand type scanner do you recommend?
@mannya.2039 anything really that is capable of showing datalist of the transmission fluid temperature. That's all u need to see.
Yessur. Use the paddle shifter to change gear to 2 and 3rd gear for 3 sec hold each gear.
I have a video how to put it in maintenance mode.
And wheels supposed to be up in the air correct? Thanks for the quick response
3.3 liters? That's very scary, are you sure not quarts?
Not when you're in canada.
How did you read the fluid temperature?
I used scan tool, in the datalist look for (transmission fluid). If you have access to scan tool great if not.
From cold engine, run it for 5 minutes or less. It should reach spec temperature.
So is that temperature just the operating temperature? Like if you went more than 5 mins would it get too hot?
The temp you want to be at is 37-45°celcius. Depending where u are, im from canada. Cold start is from 10-20°.
Is this transmission the same as Acura TLX 2019 9 speed?
It could possibly be, havent seen one yet. Check to see how it looks like.
How much it cost you
The fluids are very expensive.
No dipstick?
No dipstick. Thats right!
9 speeds don't have the dipstick.
Can you lump fluid out from top if drain plug is stripped?
What do you mean by lump fluid out?
Is it 3 qts
Hello
Its 3.6L and check the level check plug to verify the correct level. I added xtra fluid so i don't have to add and open the fill plug again.
@@Cargorage got it thanks!
