Turn steering wheel all the way to the right and reach in from the wheel well to access the oil filter. Use a piece of scrap cardboard to direct oil to the oil drain pan. Much easier! Also, wipe used oil off the oil filter mount before putting new filter on. Asking for a leak!
A leak? You know you should lube a gasket to make it seal right? I still agree people should wipe yea, but because it forces you to verify the old filter gasket came off. The double gasket will cause a leak, not the fluid itself.
Replace the washer on the drain plug. Not worth the risk when you can get a pack of oem washer off amazon for a few bucks. Same with filters. Just got a pack of 6 for 30$ off amazon. Everyone has their own preference for oil but Walmart and many other retailers including amazon sell penzzoil ultra platinum for 22$ and have mail in rebates. Many oil tests have shown it almost beat Amsoil that’s double maybe even triple the price.
Great Video.. Try using a oil siphoned pump, put the hose in the dipstick tube and pump away about 10 to 15 pumps. When I do my oil change on my 2018 Honda Odyssey EX I never use a Jack at all. The dain bolt is left alone you still need an oil to catch the oil only when you remove the oil filter..
Are you seeing any signs of oil dilution from gasoline with your engine? I have it my my odyssey -2018. How often are you changing the oil. With the dilution issue, I will be changing my oil about every 5k with full synthetic. Have you done a transmission fluid change yet? I think the recommendation is 60-90K and I will be doing mine about every 40k.
You can access the fog lights by removing the front bumper side of the inner wheel well, it plastic so you can fold it back on the tire. Theirs a couple of screws and plastic tree clips. On my fog lights I put led 8000 lumens light bulb and what a difference, I also upgraded the blinkers bulbs also to led, note you'll need to install blinker error resistor if you have front and back led blinkers installed not for just 1 set. I have a 2018 Odyssey EX
I was wondering if anyone was going to mention this. Fram has been pretty notorious for having filters collapse and create a bypass. I definitely wouldn't recommend them.
from the color it looks to be the synthetic Fram tough guard, which is one of the better ones (on par with mobil 1 and purolator synthetic filters) here's a cut open review: ruclips.net/video/KtwT71oaFys/видео.html
It's a good idea to change the drain plug crush washer. Most vendors like Bernardiparts include one when you buy a Honda oil filter.
I like the plastic bag idea. I am about to do the oil change by myself. Thank you for sharing.

Everything said here & also I’d pour some oil into the filter if it’s mounted fairly straight before spinning it on.
@@FirechickenExpress Definitely lube the new gasket with fresh oil. ~40 years of doing it that way and never had one leak yet.
Try using aluminum foil over the control arm. This stops the oil from leaking all over the control arm.
Great job. Nice hotrod on your nearby lift!
Good informative vid, that is a serious garage you have there 👍🏽
Thanks you very helpful
Thank you! Doing my oil change tomorrow 👍

Hi
Can you tell me how to do transmission oil in 2019 Honda odyssey
A pair of vinyl food service gloves would be helpful to have fingers clean of oil.

I saved a whopping $12 doing it myself compared to my local mechanic 😢
