I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but if you make the config read only before making changes to video option ingame, those options will revert back once you restart the game hence the config being read only. I would suggest making the video options first and then doing the config file.
I pinned this comment because this has been mentioned before, and you should set to Read Only, after your settings in game are set. Also, HLL has a tendency to reset your keybindings at random, so best to keep as Read Only to prevent this. Another tip, is you can have the properties open with the Read Only box visible, and make your changes in game, and set to Read Only, instantly after, instead of restarting the game.
@@TwinCityShredder Thanks man! Just thought i'd say something considering the config is walked through before ingame settings, some might get confused. :)
pro tip guys: If you have like 100fps and still got lags when it droped like 80-60fps go to steam settings and set off steam overlay, no thanks but i hope this little trick helped you get more hll experience! :)
WOW!!! Running a 3080 and was getting 50-60 FPS on 1440p epic settings. Was sort of annoyed. Did all the steps up until minute 8 because I could not find the HLL file in users. Then finished with the in game settings. I am now getting 95-115 FPS. This is amazing thank you so much!!!!!
You're welcome! The HLL.exe is in a folder called App Data. This is a hidden file, so in the top of the window, you can check a box to show hidden files. Then App Data folder should be visible. I hope that's the part you're referring to.
Thanks a ton for the video, it was super useful! -Anyone that is still experiencing random frame spikes (especially when you ADS) try switching from “windowed fullscreen” to “fullscreen”. It basically stopped all my stuttering entirely. Hope this helps 👍

@@TwinCityShredder yeah I noticed that the date u created that folder were the same as ur monitor drivers. I had a hunch and my guts said u were trolling 😂
Interesting. What GPU do you have? The 3d settings are the most important. If you need to confirm resolution and refresh rate. You can right click on the desktop and click display and go to Advanced Display settings to accomplish the same thing.
@@Shloopzie I'm surprised that option isn't showing up for you. I would expect that option to be gone if you had a 1060 or similar, but even my 1660 super has the option. Are you on a laptop?
That's a good find! It is gone. I haven't tested this, but you could add that line exactly like in the video and save the notepad file, mark as "read only" and then proceed into the game. Not sure though. Make a back up of the .in files just in case. Just make sure "max frame rate limit" says 0 and not 60.0000
Ah glad I found someone who couldn't find it either. I assume it is not a problem to just adjust the other 3 worths to 0 and leave this bAnalytics or has someone tested this?
Many players already have their settings finalized. So it doesn't matter where it is, as long as people understand why it's being done. But I guess I could have left it out of there completely. But I didn't want players losing their config. Glad this config helped you out though.
You mean the pron folders? They range back to the 80's. Kidding, they are full of EXE's. But just something for those paying attention. Surprisingly not many have noticed.

what if bAnalytics isnt located in the gamesuser settings ini file? do i type it in anywhere? also in intelligent standby list cleaner, you talk about 8 and 16 gig, but you have 32. do we enter the same values you did on screen for both 8 and 16?
I appreciate the comment. Tbh, I have only played the demo of COD Cold War, and it just wasn't for me. While I wish I had a huge collection of games, the only ones I currently have are BF2042, which I rarely play. Battlebit, which can probably run on an Apple smart watch. Squad/Squad 44, which Squad 44 might be a decent one to do, as it seems to suffer from a high frame rate like HLL. I have browsed Steam during the winter sale, and I've been hesitant to pull the trigger on any games. Ready or Not was gonna be my go to, but it's not on sale. 6 Days in Fallujah might be a good option. Whats your thoughts on this?
What a great guide you've made. Very well done and thank you. I'm struggling to run the game and i have more than enough hardware specs to run it. I'll try this out
Yoooooooooooooooooo, this is a good video. Basically the cream of the crop optimization video, no BS. (I had already done most of the things in the video myself, but still found some lines in the .ini that were useful tweaks.) This is a proper focking tutorial. Highlight of this video imo is the MSI mode utility. I'd also underline that any time that you update your Gfx drivers you gotta check that box again. But yea.. most people don't know of that tweak. Good job Twin
I did most everything--long time HLL player and no stranger to adjusting these things. After everything was set, I noticed a lot of latency lag and rubberbanding. It's basically unplayable. I'm assuming it's the High Precision Event Timer setting. I've never changed that before for anything and I think it's the only setting change in your video that messes with network-related settings, correct? Anyone else run into that as well?
HPET is windows clock. Nothing with network. DX12 has those issues that you explained. It's a trade off of higher frame rate, versus dx12 stutters, which has been an issue since its inception. There should only be server lag, and the origin rebasing issue that T17 imposed a while back. You can definitely change back HPET if it's causing issues though. Feel free to experiment, but go ahead and test the game without the -dx12 modifier and see if that clears it up. But you will be back to a lower frame rate, as that is the biggest boost in fps.
@@TwinCityShredder Okay, gotcha. This wasn't DX12 lag. I'm VERY familiar with what that feels like compared to network/server lag and rubber banding. That said, I had joined one of the Official HLL servers and the lag was there. When I joined one of the longstanding community servers the lag wasn't there. Just confirming it wasn't your guide at all. In fact, this is the smoothest my game has run in some time Thanks!
@@MohammadSalehi-cd2we Not at all. DX11 vs DX12 is a difference of how shaders load on the GPU. USEALLAVAILABLECORES spreads out the load across the CPU. Which doesn't always give you more fps, it just keeps the game from maxing out Core 0 and Core 1.
I played my first game with you, you were in my unit. Your gameplay and helpfulness during the game was great. You flamed the the squad leader for not knowing his shit and it was more than justified. I'm glad I found your channel and hope you the best.
Thanks for the comment! Was this just the other day? This game can benefit from knowledgeable players, and jumping in as SL day 1 is a strategy that everyone would disagree with. I want people to enjoy the game, and the probability that you will return to HLL after playing SL as a level 1 is very rare. I didn't play as SL until I ranked up Support and Engineer to level 10. It's disorienting to distinguish the chat between your squad and command. It can get very hectic. Thanks for your comment, and feel free to join us anytime.
@@TwinCityShredderthose squad leaders day 1 know so little they don't even know they are SL. When you first log in it seems like the obvious way to play to just join the game. Then others join the squad. I did this. Then I was confused by locked vs unlocked squads and asked permission to join a locked squad. This turned out to be a huge win as an experienced squad took me in and that sold me on the game.
@@FREDDAGGS I agree. Locked squads these days is 1 of 2 things. Either that squad is in a discord, or they just want you to have a mic. I find that I can get into a locked squad about 50% of the time.

@@VeryCoolCatBF In U13.5 when T17 took over, they added backend analytics which doubled the ping, and made the hit reg much worse. The game has never recovered, because T17 has no clue what they're doing and have cut off all communication with their playerbase.
Glad you enjoyed it, and I hope it worked out for you. It needed to be made, as I want people to enjoy the game, and not be instantly turned off by the performance issues.
I have the feeling that my game brakes after every update, is it the dx12 shaders that have to reload every map? It is very annoying, although I play on a laptop HLL is the only game with problems
@@CrustyCrusader T17 breaks the game after every update. If they mess with any shaders, which has been the case in the last 4 updates, then shaders have to recompile. Dx11 vs Dx12 just loads shaders differently but the issue is still present, although more noticeable with dx12.
this guide is certainly useful, but unfortunately not for me... I have followed all the steps and the game continues to stutter even with the minimum resolution (I go at around 40 fps and every 5/6 seconds it makes a shot that drops below 3/4 fps before I went to around 30fps but always trying those shots) I don't understand why given that my PC meets all the average requirements. If anyone knows how to help me I would be grateful
@@marcomartino24 That GPU is holding you back, so to get the most out of it, you need to use lowest settings, community taa, SSAO and motion blur off. Which your settings might already be like that. I assume you're running low on VRAM, so in the only thing you can really do is, Open AMD Radeon Settings or control center. Select Preferences, then Radeon Additional Settings. Expand Power and click Switchable Graphics Global Settings. Select High performance for the Graphic Setting. This should help with frames in the 1% lows. But since that card is more comparable to a 1650 super, achieving a constant 60 fps in this game is gonna be tough. This might not be the route you want to go, but I would update that card to something more powerful to accommodate that cpu. Like a 1080 for $100, or a 1080ti for about $180. The 1080 ti will be a bit more future proof VRAM wise, and for 1080p gaming it should be plenty in anything but UE5 games.
@@TwinCityShredder I have already overclocked my Vram, I think that getting a new GPU is the only way... It's strange because in much more demanding games like Red dead redemption 2 online it runs smoothly at 60 fps with medium settings. It's just with HLL that goes shit.
@@TwinCityShredder One thing I don't understand is why they say it's playable at minimum settings (at least at minimum I should be able to play) when in the end it's not playable at all! This thing pisses me off a lot, with 4 GB of Vram it should run at least at the minimum settings (as written on steam) but instead it doesn't. I really can't stand this stuff
I assume based on your specs that you are using a laptop with a 1080p monitor? If so, the 3070ti is based on the GA104, which is the same as the full sized 3060 chip. So with these settings applied, you should have gotten 20+ fps, but there is always drawbacks, which I'll try to explain. Also since your CPU has performance and efficiency cores, using the -USEALLAVAILABLECORES modifier, is probably not a good idea. Also I have read about modifying windows to use just the performance cores for gaming, which isn't set by default for some reason. DX12 by itself. It's not perfect and can cause stutters on its own. HLL is not optimized for DX12, and won't be until the devs remake every asset and reduce triangle count. Another issue is the Origin Rebasing update the devs did, which we cannot get rid of, and happens like clockwork every minute. Worse on Kursk atm. HLL seems to be the only game on the market that is so un-optimized that it doesn't seem to care about PC specs, and runs poorly for everyone at some level. So getting a 30% GPU usage leads me to believe that the 13700h is bottlenecking the GPU. Check this in Task Manager when playing the game. I would test out using EPIC graphics settings, to force the GPU to put out more complex frames, to reduce stress of the CPU, but you could also try to upscale the resolution. This can be done in game in the video settings, or by using NVidia control panel's Upscaling feature. Basically you need to make the GPU work harder to relieve the stress off the CPU. The quickest and easiest way is to upscale the game to 1440p by using Image Scaling in NVCP, or setting the in-game settings to 1440p, or something in between Also double check that V-Sync is turned off in NVCP, and off in game. Hope this helps, let me know. Edit: Some laptop monitors only offer 120hz refresh, when a monitor is plugged into the hdmi/display port. The actual monitor might be locked at 60fps, which would hinder performance. What model are you using?
I have I7 12700k and 3070 gpu . I stutter a lot with all these settings . I use g sync with my 165hz monitor . So should I take off the useallavailablecores? Should I run game in full screen ? To see if it gets better . Can game stil run in dx12 or don’t run in dx12?
My NVIDIA fps still shows capping out at 60fps even though the file has the frame settings set to 0.000000. I also noticed that bAnalyticsEnabled=False is not anywhere in the cofig.
Banalytics has been removed in the last update so just ignore it. As for setting your frame rate limit to 0, setting your frame rate limit to your monitors limit, should correct the 60fps frame cap.
@@TwinCityShredder I just loaded into a game and can confirm i’m way above 60. hovering around 110 guess i needed to just join a game. all set now thanks for the great video

High performance mode is for texture quality in the Nvidia 3D settings. Nothing to do with the Microsoft store. This guide is specific to steam, although some things will help overall. Just can't use DX12, as the MS store is DX11 only.

Sorry for the late reply, but if you do not have a driver available for your monitor, then just proceed through the guide. Some monitors do not need a driver, usually HDMI monitors. Display Port monitors usually have a color profile or something relative to G-Sync/Free Sync, which requires a driver.
This has been a tried and true method, and I see alot of people in the HLL discord telling people to use DX11 to fix their issues. Which doesn't help at all.
What do you mean the FPS dropped? Not sure what your hardware is, but in no way should you gotten less performance. Adding DX12 alone will give you 20+fps, even on a 1050ti and a i7 2600.
@@TwinCityShredder i solved it by turn everything from NVDIA control panel to default but 3D render turn max performance. my setting is i5 7400 GTX 1060 16gb ram. @@chillingtv3010 interesting. Max perf is the way to go, for a 1060. Should be a noticeable performance boost. This game is poorly optimized, so maybe vsync is preventing the card from being overworked. I assume you are on 1080p? Is your 1060 a 3gb or 6gb version?
Are you on a laptop? Either way, you should have seen an uplift of about 20 frames on that GPU. A 3050 is gonna have a hard time in HLL. This game has massive frame drops into the 40 fps range even on top end hardware. The goal with a 3050, would be to stay above 60fps, and on Mortain, that might be a tough one. You might have a better experience turning on V-Sync, even with the added latency, but just to maintain 60 steadily. You could install MSI Afterburner, and Riva Tuner, and set a frame cap at 60. Also you could try overclocking your GPU with Afterburner, which should give you about 5 extra frames in the 1% lows. If I had a 3050, I would be aiming for stability vs a high frame rate.
ive listened to the .ini part of this video i think 8 times and i still am so confused. how are my setting in the word doc being saved? do i just type them in and then go into the game and set everything to what i want and then come back out and check read only again?
If the file says "READ ONLY" then your settings will not save in the .ini file. For you to be able to save your changed values in the .ini file, in the properties, "READ ONLY" must be unchecked. Step 1. Get your settings how you want them in HLL, CLOSE HLL. Step 2: Uncheck "READ ONLY" in .ini properties. Step 3: Open .ini file with NOTEPAD (DO NOT USE Microsoft WORD) Step 4: Change values Step 5: Click "FILE", then click "SAVE", then close Notepad Step 6: Check box to "READ ONLY" in the .ini properties This part can be confusing, but that should lay it out for you.
I know it's so lame. Xbox games are dx12, but for some reason the Microsoft app only runs in dx11. Maybe Microsoft will change that someday. You're welcome for the rest. Hope it helped.
Hello. I just subscribed. I know this is an old video but I hope you might be able to give a little insight. I noticed pretty low performance for my setup and did all of what you mentioned except the MSI mode utility and I kept most of my video settings to epic except shadow quality. I noticed a wild 100% performance boost in fps but along with that came an unusual stutter issue. I’m not even sure if that’s what you call it since the frames don’t drop but I will get a stutter every 20 seconds as if the frames drop to 0 but they don’t on my hardware monitor. Just was hoping you could lead me in the right direction with this. My monitor driver is up to date but the software for it is old and I need to update that through usb. I might need to change settings in the bios for my cpu since it is a x3d and shouldn’t be operating on preferred cores. I will try to look through the registry for old drivers that might be clashing with the new ones but all of this is such a pain and if I could know what to start with first it might save me some time lol.
Hello, thanks for subbing. I will try and help you out. There is a trade off here between DX11 and DX12. The game textures have been updated over the years to run DX12, but the trade off between the 2 is higher frame rate, but the possibility of microstutters. Unreal Engine 4, only loads textures as you encounter them in game, so after applying DX12, it can take 2 weeks of gaming for things to smooth out, after you play every map. What is your specs? CPU, GPU, RAM, etc... I would definitely do the MSI Mode utility part in the video. This game still has many issues introduced by T17, especially on Ramagen, and a couple other maps. I still get dips down to 25fps, that hang around for a couple minutes at a time. This is game related and not hardware or part of these settings.
It's lame but the Microsoft Gamepass is only dx11, while Xbox itself is all dx12. Microsoft needs to upgrade for Gamepass, or at least allow an option.
Clarity is achieved with pixel density. At 1080p with most monitors, you can visibly see the pixels. So what I would try to do, is run your monitor in 4:4:4. This will cost you frames, but every pixel will be lit up. Default is 4:2:2. If fps drops too much, try 4:4:2. Find this Nvidia control panel.

Remember where we uncheck the box that says "read only" @ 07:39. When the box is checked for read only, the adjustments in-game will not save. Because we have locked this file so it cannot be written to. Simply uncheck the "read only" box, and edit settings in-game. Once in-game settings are set, go back and check the box as "read only". This way the game cannot rewrite this file.
If this was Call of Duty then I would leave it on. As the cheats available for COD are extensive, and some cheats can retrieve anyone's information. Leave it on if you wish.
This happens because the GameUserSettings.ini file is set to Read Only @08:07. Right click on properties and "unckeck" read only. Change settings in game, then go back and set to read only.
@TwinCityShredder I must be a little slow haha. I edited everything like you said and put read only back without going into the game and changing the settings first. Thank you so much for the help

This game has terrible optimization. It's been an issue for a very long time. Even at 1080p on PS5, I couldn't maintain 60fps. What needs to happen is the devs at T17, need to rebuild many assets and lower the triangle count. The thing is, that nobody enjoys doing that, so it will be done over time, with the most common assets done first. This could take years, so I'd recommend building a PC, if you really see yourself spending hundreds of hours in HLL.
Alright so unfortunately since I run windows 11 that I can’t do the config or even find it for that matter. Because I know that’s a very important step but I have no idea what I’m doing

@@TwinCityShredder alright so an update for you I did manage to find the folder and I’m running a bit better at 90FPS on some maps. I assume Alt-Z is for Nvidia Overlay? I don't use shadow play but this website has the process to fix the issue. www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/solved-geforce-overlay-not-working/ Nothing in the video should have disabled that. As it's a very common shortcut for many different software. So I would search in Shadow Play.
No unfortunately. For some reason, Xbox Gamepass only runs in dx11, while the same games on console run in dx12. Not sure why Microsoft has decided to do this.
I would assume a gaming laptop would have some sort of monitor driver. Even if it's just a driver for a high refresh rate or color .icm profile. This will depend on the laptop, but checking the manufacturer website would be the first place I'd check.

This will help a ton. I used to use a 1660 Super, and you should be able to maintain a low of 60 fps, with medium settings, community TAA. Turn off motion blur and Ambient Occlusion/SSAO.
Adding DX12 will force the GPU to rerender the shaders again. This happens because unreal engine loads shaders as you play. Not a big deal. Over time it will smooth out. DX12 isn't perfect either. You get an uplift in fps, but micro stutter is a factor. ADS stutter has been an issue in the game for years, and as mentioned above, should resolve itself over time. Stallingrad and other maps need more optimization and is the game at fault. Keep me updated. We can try some other things if that's not the main issue at play. For example, play SME, a full match, then switch servers and play another match on SME, is the problem still there, better, or gone?
@@TwinCityShredderthink you answered my question in a comment I just made and was worded much worse than the op. Wow thanks for saving me hours of my time lol
I've been trolling with that for a while now, and you're part of the few who've noticed. It's just exe's to clear up the folder for easier viewing. I have hundreds of install files, and this grew exponentially when making the Latency video. So there is multiple pron folders now. Bookmarks are the way to go, haha.
My gamesettings ini file read only was not checked and bAnalytics was not on mine. Do you think is a good idea to limit my framerate value to 162 as my monitor's refresh rate is 165? I read that this would make the game in sync and would fix the studder. On my computer, If I take the blur option off, the movement of the screen studder even though I have 100+ fps.
Yeah in one of the recent updates, the bAnalytics line is gone. Not too big of a deal, just make sure the "Max Framerate" is 0.000000, and not 60.0000. Never limit your framerate in the User.ini. Limit framerate in NVCP, Steam Launch Options (EXAMPLE: -refresh 162), but an even better option to limit framerate is by using RivaTuner. There is 2 stutter situations happening in the game currently. One is the Origin Rebasing, which is tha hard lag everyone is getting every minute or so. Which the devs cannot seem to fix or care to fix. The other stutter is only masked by using motion blur, and is a symptom you high DPC latency on your PC. Again, a better coded game would not have this issue. You'll have to watch this video to figure out your issue when it comes to DPC latency. Also, some maps are just really bad, like Stalingrad, Hurtgen, El Alamein. Where nothing you do will fix it, and BM and T17 are so lost in the woods, that spending any amount of time fixing it, could break it even further. The issues we can fix though, are things like the ADS stutter, which is caused by latency.
@@TwinCityShredderthanks a ton for answering me all these questions. I just tried the game and it's a night and day difference now. Gained over 35 fps overall. One thing that I noticed is that if I increase the FOV I get much better fps and if I lower it let say to 60, it get worse. Strange as it should be the opposite right? The more FOV the more things I see in the screen so it's weird. I wonder what FOV would you recommend for somebody that uses a 34" ultra wide screen monitor and what FOV that you use personally. These will be my last questions. I'm going to take some helmets off now. THanks.
@@arlokkkkNo worries. Happy to help. Most games increase FPS with higher FOV. Because the game doesn't have to render a clear image at closer distances the higher you go. Your character will feel like he runs slow at 60 FOV. And 60 FOV was just added to help with widescreen support. I use 105 FOV and I'm on a 27". I would use anywhere between 100 and 107. If you tend to sit back from your monitor, go with 100.
Which section are you referring to? Should use the Shipping.exe You can do a search on your PC to find it. If it's in a hidden folder, unhide in folder options, in any window.
Everything should help, except the gameusersettings.ini, and the Laaunch Modifier section. The main increase comes from the -dx12 modifier, which I don't believe the Microsoft App supports it. Which is a shame, since Microsoft created DX12 and the Xbox only runs on DX12. If it was my PC, the first thing I would try, is open/download Steam. Steam has the ability to launch any game on your PC. You could try opening the game through Steam, but try the -dx12 modifier in Steam's launch options. Open Steam and click Games > Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library.
You're welcome! The new map is running pretty bad for people, and with a 1060, you might have frame drops when ADS. Hopefully this gets fixed soon, but it can ever upgrade that 1060 to a 1080Ti, you'd be good to go for a couple years. Glad this guide helped you, and thanks for the comment.

The HLL.exe is in a folder called App Data.
This is a hidden file, so in the top of the window, you can check a box to show hidden files.

Have a good one
Looks like the 'bAnalytics' line has been removed from the ini... I couldnt find it in there at all. Great vid mate.
This video was both quick and informational.. Nice that you also explained what the different stuff was that we was changeing. Thanks sir! o7

I thought it was important to explain why we do it. That aspect seems to be missing from many videos.
why say to change the ini first if its just going to change again shoudlnt that be the last step then??
Many players already have their settings finalized. So it doesn't matter where it is, as long as people understand why it's being done.
But I guess I could have left it out of there completely.
But I didn't want players losing their config.
Glad this config helped you out though.

Banalytics was removed last update. So skip it.
ISLC RAM should set set to half of your total RAM.
This is really good! You should do one for cod or other popular games just for the views/subs. Since half the steps are applicable to any game.
I'll try this out
This should work well for you.
If you are on Gamepass for PC, you won't be able to use DX12. Which is the largest boost in performance.
I really appreciate this response! And good note on the MSI mode after a driver update, thanks for that!
In fact, this is the smoothest my game has run in some time

Excellent! I love hearing it!
Does the -dx12 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES harm my gpu or cpu or any other parts of my pc?
@@MohammadSalehi-cd2we Not at all. DX11 vs DX12 is a difference of how shaders load on the GPU.
USEALLAVAILABLECORES spreads out the load across the CPU. Which doesn't always give you more fps, it just keeps the game from maxing out Core 0 and Core 1.
I played my first game with you, you were in my unit. Your gameplay and helpfulness during the game was great. You flamed the the squad leader for not knowing his shit and it was more than justified. I'm glad I found your channel and hope you the best.

I really can't stand this stuff
my gpu usage is still %20 %30 and i have a stuttering problem . 3070ti 13700H. any tips? i did everything in the video but didnt help :(
I assume based on your specs that you are using a laptop with a 1080p monitor?
The quickest and easiest way is to upscale the game to 1440p by using Image Scaling in NVCP, or setting the in-game settings to 1440p, or something in between
Also double check that V-Sync is turned off in NVCP, and off in game.

Max perf is the way to go, for a 1060. Should be a noticeable performance boost.
This game is poorly optimized, so maybe vsync is preventing the card from being overworked.

Is your 1060 a 3gb or 6gb version?
I did everything in this video and still running on low fps is it to do with my pc specs I have a 3050 intel core i5 gen12 and 16gb of ram
I cannot get those values to stay put in the word doc no matter the order of the game settings or the checking of read only in the properties box
Step 3: Open .ini file with NOTEPAD (DO NOT USE Microsoft WORD)
Step 4: Change values
Step 5: Click "FILE", then click "SAVE", then close Notepad
Step 6: Check box to "READ ONLY" in the .ini properties

Great video! Really informative and well-presented!
Thanks for that bud. Glad you found it helpful!
Hey i want to get HLL in DX12 but i play it on the GamePass on PC how I can do it there?
It's lame but the Microsoft Gamepass is only dx11, while Xbox itself is all dx12.
Microsoft needs to upgrade for Gamepass, or at least allow an option.
@@TwinCityShredder thanks 🙏
Is there anyway to get visibility in game better with 1080p for me enemies past 100 meters are half rendered
Find this Nvidia control panel.
yoo geat video! i have one question: i cant get to the "windowsnoeditor" file. i have my hell let loose file in "F" not in "C" like you and i cant find anything. i didn't even find the "appdata file".
and in the "HLL" there's no "saved" file and i cant move on. and now i got all so ugly blurry:( i can see almost every pixle and it sucks... hopfully sb can help me out
ps: sorry for my ba english lol
The App Data folder is a hidden folder that is unhidden in the folder options at the top right of that window.
It will be in the C: drive.
As for the blurry aspect, can you tell me what you changed?
Because nothing in my video makes things worse.
@@TwinCityShredder first up thxx for the reply! i changed everything exactly like you did exept the monitor driver and the list cleaner. and i didn't change the gameusersetting cause i didn't find them.
now iam in the "local" file and i cant find "HLL". i downloaded hell let lose on steam and its now in "steamapps" and this is in "volume: F" . there i cant find the "gameusersettings".
a side note idk if its necessary i have a 3050 and a bad cpu - so i have a bigbottleneck...
i somehow manged to get the blury effects away thxxx:) but the thing with the gamerusersetting still doesn't work:/
why do half of these setting just not exist on my computer??
@@jacksonshaw5235 well I need more details, but are you playing using Xbox game pass?
Also the appdata folder is a hidden folder, which requires you to show hidden files, at the top of the current window.
@@TwinCityShredder no im not using gamepass. i ended up finding some of them but i didnt know hidden files were even a thing lmfao. ill figure that out thanks
I've also heard that having shadow quality not on HIGH gives the game a little stutter on some maps
I'll look into this. It cool that people have been able to figure out these little tweaks here and there.
Thanks bro I did like everything u did in video beside the downloading anything part. An I more then double my fps
Hell yeah dude! That's what I like to hear! Thanks for the comment!
High precision event timer, i didnt understand it, i didnt change it, is it gonna have biig impact?
It's ok to leave it active. The only thing you would notice is better latency. Which would me the mouse feel a little snappier.
sick video, the .ini now has more lines for benchmarks, should i replace them all to 0?
Glad is helped.
I think setting them all to zero would be fine.
So since I done this everything is better but I’m having to redo my graphics settings in game everytime I load up..where did I go wrong?
Remember where we uncheck the box that says "read only" @ 07:39.
When the box is checked for read only, the adjustments in-game will not save. Because we have locked this file so it cannot be written to.
Simply uncheck the "read only" box, and edit settings in-game.
Once in-game settings are set, go back and check the box as "read only".
This way the game cannot rewrite this file.
@@TwinCityShredderahh ok I figured it had something to do with that, just had a hard time understand this that part
Any PC gurus wanna weigh in on how safe turning off Control Flow Guard for just the game is?
If this was Call of Duty then I would leave it on. As the cheats available for COD are extensive, and some cheats can retrieve anyone's information.
Leave it on if you wish.
So I followed all of this. Everytime I go into the game, it makes me change the graphics settings again. What can I do to fix this
This happens because the GameUserSettings.ini file is set to Read Only @08:07. Right click on properties and "unckeck" read only. Change settings in game, then go back and set to read only.
@TwinCityShredder I must be a little slow haha. I edited everything like you said and put read only back without going into the game and changing the settings first. Thank you so much for the help
@@glenn191 No worries. Anytime bud!
I cannot find this location 6:55
If you are referring to the "App Data" folder, by default Windows hides this. Got to the top of any folder, click "View" and click the check box "Hidden Items" on the right pane.
Thx man this clip helped me a lot, better fps in game,no studdering, and overall better look even i use i new rtx i used all your ingame settings and set ,just like you ,some stuff on medium or even complete shut down .
Best clip for hell let loose issues when running rtx ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

I just found out recently if you turn Shadows to Medium, it reduces stutters even further. No idea why, but I tested this a couple days ago, and it works well.
Arf… Tricky… It seemed to work So-So for me, after the settings adjustments I had such a FPS improvement in game, and beautiful BUT at the same time a big sound issue with jerky sequences… It’s not only in the game, I’ve got that while listening audio everywhere now…!
Still trying to fix that 😤
I’ve passed all my evening by repairing Realtek Audio Pilotes, and Uninstalling Etc Etc… None of that works correctly
HELP please 🙏
@@mazzurean at what point in the guide did you realize there was an issue?
I need a bit more details on your setup.
How is your audio ran? Do you have external speakers with a headphone jack plugged in to the back of the PC? Or do you have speakers in the monitor and that audio is travelling through an HDMI cable?
Or possibly headphones plugged into the PC, and if so, is it 3.5mm jack or USB?
@@TwinCityShredder My setup:
Laptop MSI GE75 RAIDER IntelCorei7 RTX2070 32GoRAM 8Kores 240Hz + Gaming Monitor MSI 27’ 180Hz FHD MAG27C6F
The monitor is connected to the laptop.
I use a Headset connected via 3.5mm Jack on the laptop…
After a system restauration last night. I woke up this morning without big changes unfortunately. The game is still running with issues
The files like MSI Utility is still there because I didn’t delete them before
I’ve just noticed that the sound seemed to be fixed when I came back to your Tuto for sound test.
I can send more details later about the steps of the tuto I’ve removed
Anyway, thanks for your reply ✌🏻
MSI Util software is giving me the issue, It was fixed until I select "High" for my RTX. When I clicked on "Undefinited", the issue persists
Seems like Banalyticsenabled is no longer in the text file, which I guess is good? tysm for the guide
Correct. This was removed in the last update.
It can be skipped.
You're very welcome. Glad this helped you out.
Im playing this game on Xbox series x and have lots of fps drops from 60 to 30-40 idk why and ping always high my resolution is 2160p
@@TwinCityShredder thanks
Alright so unfortunately since I run windows 11 that I can’t do the config or even find it for that matter. Because I know that’s a very important step but I have no idea what I’m doing
I assume you mean you can't find the App Data folder.
It's hidden and needs to be unhidden.
You can do this in the folder options.
Win11 might be different but on win10, it's in the top right of that window.
@@TwinCityShredder alright so an update for you I did manage to find the folder and I’m running a bit better at 90FPS on some maps. Granted this is a big step up from the 40-60 I was used to playing at. Good grief it took me a while to get to that point but it works with the exception that on some maps the game still drops to 55 or lower depending on the map. I’m assuming I will have to wait until they optimize it a little
@@FrostBite1776 even my gaming rig has dips into the 40's sometimes.
Nothing we can do about that unfortunately.

Not sure why but since I changed all the settings my Alt-Z isn't working anymore. Could be something else entirely though, any ideas?
I assume Alt-Z is for Nvidia Overlay?
I don't use shadow play but this website has the process to fix the issue.
www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/solved-geforce-overlay-not-working/
Nothing in the video should have disabled that. As it's a very common shortcut for many different software. So I would search in Shadow Play.
I cant find bAnalytics... was it removed in updates?
Yes it was.
@@TwinCityShredder Thank you!
is there a way to make this game run on direct x-12 if you are running the game from gamepass?
No unfortunately. For some reason, Xbox Gamepass only runs in dx11, while the same games on console run in dx12.
Not sure why Microsoft has decided to do this.
If i have an asus laptop, can i also update my default PnP monitor driver? Or there is no need?
I would assume a gaming laptop would have some sort of monitor driver. Even if it's just a driver for a high refresh rate or color .icm profile.
This will depend on the laptop, but checking the manufacturer website would be the first place I'd check.
Another good guide, thanks shredder

I'm suffering with my 1660Ti mobile, but Im gonna try those tricks
This will help a ton.
I used to use a 1660 Super, and you should be able to maintain a low of 60 fps, with medium settings, community TAA.
Turn off motion blur and Ambient Occlusion/SSAO.
Doubled my FPS but something is causing stuttering when aiming quickly
The issue didnt seem to get much better. However I changed the launch options to D11 and it completely resolved it@@TwinCityShredder

Thats a not so subtle x-rated folder at @1:35 :D
I've been trolling with that for a while now, and you're part of the few who've noticed.
It's just exe's to clear up the folder for easier viewing. I have hundreds of install files, and this grew exponentially when making the Latency video. So there is multiple pron folders now.
Bookmarks are the way to go, haha.
Nice Work!!!! Thank you.
You're welcome! Glad it helped you out.
went from 50 fps to 130, thank you so much!!!
Good to know, Thank you!
would any hll exe work? it doesnt say shipping but says "hll.exe" is this the same?
Which section are you referring to?
Should use the Shipping.exe
You can do a search on your PC to find it. If it's in a hidden folder, unhide in folder options, in any window.
I found it pretty easy in the programs section + add. So i dont have to go into the folder right?@@TwinCityShredder
@@AspieTrips shouldn't have to, as long as you've found it, and know where it is.
Anything for Game Pass PC version got a 4090 i910900k and the game goes from 80-0 to 40 or 50 the optimization of this game is so poor.

Bro my pc got a lame 1060 and this video made hll look unreal 😭😭 thx brooooooo
You're welcome! The new map is running pretty bad for people, and with a 1060, you might have frame drops when ADS.
Hopefully this gets fixed soon, but it can ever upgrade that 1060 to a 1080Ti, you'd be good to go for a couple years.
