As an OTR truck driver, I can tell you you got that backwards, you can mark it and flag a pre trip inspection, but you must show a minimum of 15 minutes for a post trip. And yes I’ve had numerous level 1 inspections and never gotten a violation for doing this. Just an fyi, trying to help
Thanks for the information. Be safe
Great info on log books. When I drove big trucks 25 years ago we had paper logs so it looks like the technology is here now. I am from coffee co. I now live in east Tn. For the past 2 years. I am retired and been watching your videos and it has brought back memories and I am ready to go. You give honest expectations on what to expect on the road. I drove cross country for 8 years and had to quit for family reasons. Can you give me your email address I wanted to ask you some things that I didn’t want to put on this comment section. Thank you for sharing your experiences with everyone. Stay safe.
Mr.tennessee1977@gmail.com. Thank you for watching
Great content video Transportation is slowing down on everything. I’m running cars only Rates are garbage outside of direct customers Stay safe
Your right. Rates are going down to fast. Killing everyone
I always like to put a lock in the fifth wheel handle
It’s a good idea too and I should.
Awe thanks for the shoutout!
I think it’s great if we can all share ideas, no matter how big or small 😉
And we’re choosing to stay optimistic about the load board. We’re hanging in there despite the negativity we see constantly on social media. And we’ve even had nasty comments in person about who we work for 🙄. I say…you do you 😁
Your right and I hope it gets better soon. I know it’s hard on everyone fighting for loads. And no one really knows what’s going to happen. That’s crazy y’all have gotten nasty comments because where you work.
Great video, good info
Thanks man!!
Good video bud. I saw you parked up at goshen Loves when I got up Monday morning. Was going to give you a holler but you were just getting out when I headed out wasn’t bother you that early. Finally got a load and headed out of town bout lunch time Monday headed to Portland Oregon. We dropped this morning and got back to Boise doing a reset. Hope you’ve had a good week. We going to make our way back to TN. Hopefully loads will pick back up. On a brighter note…. It’s almost football time in TN. GBO Stay safe my friend
Man Next time come and say Hi… wouldn’t have been a bother.. Go Vols!! Be Safe!!
When I first started and I was green I would log back unloaded. After I figured out a few things I stopped logging back the entire two years I hauled campers. If I’m not under load I’m not being paid so I’m not logging back.
That’s what I did
Excellent video. Would like to see more like this one. Still looking forward to getting started. Just slow rolling getting my truck ready.
Thank you. That’s good we are still slow right now. Thanks for watching.
Great video, very informative. Coming up on my retirement next month. Thinking of doing the drive away for starters. At least i have a clue now on how to do the driver log.
Thanks for watching… Glad it helped!
Good video. Nice to have confirmation from an experienced driver that I've been doing it correctly.
Thanks and Thanks for watching.
A thick fried Bologna sandwich with a fried egg, cheese and some lays potato chips sound really good about right now. Be safe on the highway 🛣.
Yes ma’am. Y’all too. Hey. Don’t forget to send me or CFramer that information.
Great video thanks for the log book part too
Yes sir and thanks for watching.
Enjoy your videos and find them very informative. Once I pull the trigger to retire, gonna try getting into the transport business to supplement retirement and see the country.
Heck yeah and thank you for watching
Excellent video and explanations of procedures
Thank you.
Hope all is well with you. You are the reason i started off in this industry... 7 months strong and I've made more money than i could imagine. Canadian loads have been amazing and i hope they continue. Wish you all the best and i hope your load boards take a change and get you busy! Thank you for everything you've taught me. 7 months and loving this industry!
I’m glad you are doing good and I’m glad my your happy doing it. It will pick up one day 😂 thank you for watching my video’s and I’m glad I could help. Hope everything keeps going well and be safe.
Great video one of the better ones I’ve seen
Thank you
Great video. I just missed a port st Lucie by a few seconds. When I hit it. Already considered for dispatch. I was like son of a gun. Be safe.
Happened to me with a California!! You’ll get one!!
@@mr.tennessee I'm in Goshen now. Picking up in the morning headed back home to my local dealer.
@@semperfitransport6572 be safe
@@mr.tennessee same to you.
Great video...very informative 👍
Thank you for watching
Dealer lots are full to the rim with new RV’s and that’s why the RV’s are stacked to the gills on the lots in Goshen. Dealers don’t want any more. They are trying to sell what they already got. The RV industry is entering a bust cycle.
That’s why rates are down and that hurts because fuel is high.
Great video. I’m still kicking around the idea of getting into RV transport at some point as extra retirement money. I already have a truck and fifth wheel hitch so it won’t be such a big investment for me to start. Just have to take the leap and do it. Be safe and hopefully the loads come back soon.
Thank you and I did too.
I have a 2018 ram 3500 dually and I’m under 10,000 lbs with both tanks full and all of my equipment and me on board
That’s a good deal
In regards to the slow loadboard of towaway rvs this is a summed up explanation from higher ups in the Bennett group. During the covid phase people were looking to social distance, rvs and campers became super popular and the craze drove up demand. Now that we're getting out of the covid phase demand has dropped and people are trading in for smaller units or selling. We're simply returning to the pre covid demand, or normal. On top of that there are a shortage of parts. I also skimmed through an article that reports two keystone plants will be closing in Goshen Indiana. Take this information as you will just passing it along. Hang in there and I hope it picks up soon.
Thank you for the information and thanks for watching. Be safe
Mr. Tennessee,
Today is 5/19/2024, but you can see that already. I just bought the truck. I have truck payment, insurance, and expenses. No other bills, NOTHING other than taxes, and what I spend on the road. Good time to head to Indiana???
Good video Sr ,
Thank you
@@mr.tennessee i have appointments for 8/30 I just have to pass the orientation and go to work, thank you for what you do with your channel and more for a Cuban-American like me, thank you very much
@@fernandote77 good deal and no problem. Thank you for watching. Be safe
Good to see you moving campers again 👍
It’s still slow
Great video! Can you work part-time at this company? Have two long loads per week than one week off? Because my wife is a travel nurse I can work when she's off work.
Thanks for watching and yes you can
is that a keep trucking ELD if so I think they are so easy to work man.
It is and they are! Thanks for watching
I noticed that every time you put an entry in you added a note. Is that required or just for your information? Great video and hope to start hauling part time in a few months after the load boards come back. Thanks
It is required by the logbook.. it won’t let you save it and go past that point if you don’t put something.. Thanks for watching
I notice rates r very low, fuel prices aren't that low
I know I have been looking at that. It’s bull 💩
longbed vs shortbed? i see your blue has a shortbed. PRos and cons?
That is really all up to you. The red one and the blue in both has short, but it’s just because I like they look better.
Would you comment on logging what you do when you cross a time zone change ? On your charting
The log book is based on your home of your company‘s location. You don’t have to do anything
What is your thoughts on starting out rv transport with a gas truck for few months? Great video with good advice.
I have a few subscribers that are doing it and not having any problems. Thanks and thanks for watching
Hey Mr Tennessee I hope you get more loads than you and C Farmer can handle. How are those Firestone tires holding up.
Thank you. Well there ok but ko2s will be on here next time. I’m not going to get the miles out of the Firestone.
@@mr.tennessee I priced some KO2’s at Discount Tire they will probably be my next set or a set of Coopers I’ve had good luck with. Thanks.
@@rickysafer2895 no problem. I really like them. Be safe
Question I no how the logs work with big trucks and cdl hotshots but in this particular Instance if u were returning to Indiana and had not yet been dispatched on another load or even if u had would u have to log it being under 10001 gvwr and also if you were required to run the actual eld I'm assuming u can just log that as pc
Well if you’re not under dispatch then you should not have to log back. But if I go to Indiana I log it just to be on the safe side. And no eld’s.
@@mr.tennessee 10 4 thank you sir just curious I'm use to logging all the time even tho we should be exempt with farm, livestock, and under 150 miles but company policy to run eld, helps with payroll to but not that bad don't really pay attention just get logged in right and logged out and it takes care of itself, just wondering how it worked
What size fuel tank in the back
I have a 72 gallon
What are you paying for insurance or does the company cover that?
With the red truck it was around 3 something. I think the blue truck is a high 400
How many gallons is your auxiliary fuel tank?
72 Gal
What fuel card do you use.
Indiana Transport use Comdata
It looks like that subscriber is taking to much of your time. Lol
😂
Are contracted directly or are you a driver through a contracted company?
I am least to Indiana Transport. So I am a contract driver for Indiana Transport.
@@mr.tennessee just wondering, you move allot, with no loads on the board
@@Hibbie2963 right no I have idea about the load board. Right now we have no loads on our board
