    Huh. Interesting. Very straightforward. I've always wondered how to sync the audio and video. I didn't know you could separate the wave file and look at it that way. Thanks for the help Andrew!

    • @jensloetzsch
      @jensloetzsch 5 лет назад +6

      You can synchronise the audio and video files!
      When you are filming, record your playing but before, chugg three times a higher note on your guitar.
      This results in three wave forms on your recorded track AND your video track.
      Then move both sequences ( the audio file from the video and the recorded and mixed track) one above the other in the video program, you can use the three wave forms as the reference point.

    Clicking the magnet button near the timeline turns off snapping to grid I think... that should let you sync up the audio from both video sources EZPZ.

    A summary of all the steps for learning Premiere Pro playthrough editing:
    Phase I: Collecting
    Step 1: Collect all video files and put them in the explorer/folder in the bottom left of the project.
    Step 2: Layer videos on top of each other. Audio will come with them in, but will be put as a separate asset.
    Phase II: Syncing
    Step 3: Use razor tool (c) to chop off beginning and end parts to make it clean.
    Step 4: Sync all videos together, preferably using their audio to line up the wave files. The videos will go with them. Just line up audio, and video will line up with them. (If needed, click the magnet button below the timer to disable “snap to” and line up audio more precisely.
    Step 5: Insert master .wav file at top or bottom.
    Step 6: Solo all audio files except the master. Line the waveforms of the master audio with the waveforms of the other muted audio files, which should already be at sync with themselves (step 4).
    Step 7: Play videos to makes sure each line up with master.
    Phase III: Ordering and editing
    Step 8: Select ALL VIDEO layers (audio will be selected with them, but won’t nest with them. Nest the videos, NOT the audio.
    Step 9: NEST videos together. Right click > Nest > Name and Ok. This will creat ONE layer that contains all VIDEO layers in it. Kind of like a Master Video.
    Step 10: NOTE: The nested sequence is NO LONGER attached to the separate audio tracks. Select all audio except the master wav file and delete them. Get them outta here.
    Step 11: To make cuts between the multiple videos, right click on the nested video sequence (which should still be in sync with the master audio if done right). Click: Multi-Camera > Enable.
    Step 12: Click the button “Toggle Multi-Camera View (Shift-0)” under the master video window. This will open a window that displays all camera angles that you can switch from by clicking or by using the numbers on your keyboard.
    Step 13: Click the red record button (“Multi-Camera Record”) under the master video window. This will record any key presses or clicks that switch the videos.
    Step 13a (optional): Drop rendering (found at bottom right under master video; it has a wrench symbol to its left) from “Full” to “1/4” to save your computer some work.
    Step 14: Press the play button. Click or press keys to switch between videos/camera angles as desired.
    Phase IV: Render and Export
    Step 15: File > Export > Render as media. Options and details for rendering are up to you and depend on what platform you upload on (eg. IG, RUclips, Reddit, Facebook, etc.) Look up videos for customizing presets optimized for different upload locations

      Render down the audio track from your DAW and throw it on the grid in your video editing program and sync it up to the video. The best thing to do is to play to a click track so you know when to sync it up to the video. And see it(the click before the song starts)on the wav file to better match it. OR just look at the wav files on the audio tracks from the song you rendered from your DAW and from the video file that was imported into the video editing program and match them up.

    • @antimidotcom
      @antimidotcom 5 лет назад +5

      To get it to sound really good. Most cameras don't record very good audio. Your computer and audio interface is better for recording audio. A secondary reason (although I don't know how much he does this) is that you can record 100 takes of audio and use the best parts, then relax when filming, because it's difficult for most viewers to spot to a minor mistake that is only occurring visually.

    • @antimidotcom
      @antimidotcom 3 года назад +1

      @@johnkk7863 Yes, miming to the audio some people may call cheating, but most music videos are done that way. If the music is improvised, then there's likely no miming. You have to record the audio and video at the same time for improvised sections of music.
