Can't believe we are getting close to 30 mill subs... You guys rock!
almost there!
So close yet so very close too, almost there 🥴🔥
Pewdiepie and Mr Beast are watching this in fear!
I love that Erik literally combined my my two biggest obsessions: photography/videography and music/guitars
🤟🏻
I always assumed you had some background in film because of how great your visuals are. Thanks for the breakdown or your shots!
Man Eirik, I absolutely LOVED hearing your insight on filming. Your shots and grading has always been absolutely top tier 🤤
Thanks a lot, Patrick! Hope you're doing well!
Thanks for the run down - been wanting to start getting into filming stuff for my music as well and you're video was a great overview!
Absolutely brilliant video dude, thank you. Good luck on 30 mill, nearly there!
This is so cool! I'm warming up to the idea to put out youtube demos, and this is hands down the most informative thing I've seen in a long time.
Thanks, buddy! I want to see you do demos 🤟🏻
This was fantastic man, thanks!!
Very informative! Your videography/photography has always looked fantastic 👌
Have been searching for this video for months now. 🙌🙏
Glad I could help!
I appreciate the directness of this channel. A lot of questions I had were answered for sure…Thank u
This guy the package!
Great things learned from this video: Thank you!
Great video. I'm launching a range of pickups in the new year and I'm having to learn all this stuff. It was really helpful.
“I’m trying to reach 30 million subs on this channel”
best part of the video.
This is the first guitar lighting video I've seen that actually has good lighting. And you mention the lights reflecting off of the guitar which is my number one lighting issue! Thank you. Liked and subscribed!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video man!
Thanks!
Just found your channel and the second one of your videos started I knew I was way out of my depth in terms of understanding your filming. Then I found this video and realized my intuition was 100% correct haha. Anyway, your production is beautiful just amazing. I can't think of anyone in the youtube-guitar sphere who even comes close to this. I'm guilty of using my smartphone at times along with the insta 360 cam and a lumix g7. Right now, the priority is speed, so I record direct with a capture card and OBS (my camera is basically always on and setup in one area so I can go from nothing to recording in seconds). Maybe one day when I have more space I can attempt to implement some of these tips! Thanks for your work. Truley inspirational.
Hey Andre! Thanks a lot for the kind words, man. Make sure to get in touch if you have any questions about filming!
I also like to bounce the light off my ceiling at times, I thought I was an avant-garde film director. Nice shredding btw!
Bounce for lyfe!
Great points! I'm struggling to get manual focus to work very well because if I move my guitar or face it gets out of focus. I'm using a Canon 90D with Sigma 18-35 Lens. I have been using auto focus for close up shots for my hands and guitar but with my face in the shot it takes focus away. Driving me crazy. Any ideas how to make manual focus work for my face and hands/guitar both? 😐
I’d like to know… how do you guys sync audio in logic with video recorded with iPhone. say you’re recording yourself playing the guutar with an iphone but final audio track comes from Logic Pro?
I wanna hear those clips of you sweep picking!
How do you set the focus on the camera? In case you can't reach the focus wheel from your playing position?
I usually just focus on my chair or something. Sometimes I have a wireless follow focus set up, so I can pull focus whilst sitting.
Great tips! When are we gonna get your signature LUT packs ?
Thanks! I did actually sell a LUT pack previously, but I wasn't really happy with them.
@@LivingroomGearDemos Second question - how do you manually focus when filming by yourself?
@@RJRonquillo Usually just by putting something in my chair and focusing in on that. And having a monitor near my position after to check that I'm actually in focus. I also have a wireless system I can hook up to manual lenses, so I can focus from where I sit.
What target bitrate do you use for 4K or HD videos?
50 000 Kb/s for HD and 80K for 4K. Overkill, but works ;)
Do you use Davinci Resolve to edit your videos? I recognize the "Titling" edit effect when popping up words on the scren, just curious.
Yes resolve.
That's awesome, you do good work I like your video filming skills@@LivingroomGearDemos
Sorry, if I missed it, but is there a requirement on FPS? Is 60 a must or 29/30 good enough?
I do 25, but some do 29/30 for guitar stuff to minimize motion blur. I don't like 60.
ARRI Amira?? Holy shit dude that's awesome 😻
Yes! I love it. Only downside is that it’s HEAVY. And eats a lot of power.
Arri Amira!! 😲
You'll need one to have a successful channel on RUclips
@@LivingroomGearDemos 🤣 🤣🤣
24 frames or 30 frames in 4k for guitar videos?
Both will work, but I prefer 24
More shredding pls.
The most widely used f stop in cinema is 2.8. :-)
yeah, I often operate between 2.8 to 4. So many people are filming wide open in search of cinematic footage. I don't think that is the best way to approach it :)
@@LivingroomGearDemos Nope it is not. While I said the most widely used is 2.8 some shots call for much higher and some lower. Depending on the scenes. But yeah like your vid bro. Good stuff you are correct. SUBBED :-)
Oh and I will be doing a vid in a little while and will use my EOS-M camera with Magic Lantern and I will mess with lighting ect.....
3:17 yngwie?
yes
@@LivingroomGearDemos jokes aside, even gear companies should get cinematography tips from you for their official promo vids.
They can hire me as a consultant. I'm NOT CHEAP
What a journey. I am really glad that subscribed before 50 million subscribers. 😅 Andertons even giving away a Klon Centaur can't reach 1 million subs.
haha, are they giving a way a klon at 1 mill subs?
To bad we didn’t hear that shredding
Well thank goodness - hopefully my onlyfans will improve ….
