Hi. Thanks for the video but I'm very confused at timeline 03:59 - you locked crankshaft and camshaft using tools and then turned. Camshaft wheel shouldn't rotate (as its locked) but it was rotating? Then again you're inserting alignment tools at timeline 04:32.....was it video editing mistake. Cheers

Hi! You are right. We did not show the moment when our mechanic retire the timing tools, but it is clear the engine can not turn with these tools installed. Best regards

Hi, when you inserted the locking pin in the crank shaft, did you rotate it anticlockwise until the crank locked against the pin before installing the belt, I'm doing this but the crank sprocket ends up about half a tooth off out against the block mark, also because the cam sprocket was removed did you have to put a new timing mark on pulley, many thanks

    • @AjusaAutomotive

      Hi Ryan!
      Mounting
Install the new tensioner pulley with the Allen key hole at the 10 o'clock position.
Tighten the tensioner roller screw without locking it 8.
Check the alignment of the timing marks 3 and 7.
Position the timing belt to the left starting from the crankshaft sprocket.
Note: Make sure the belt is taut between the sprockets on the non-tensioned side.
Turn the crankshaft sprocket slightly clockwise to tighten the timing belt between the camshaft sprocket and the crankshaft sprocket.
Turn the tensioner roller to the left until the index 11 passes the alignment marks 12. Use a 6 mm Allen key 9.
Slowly turn the tensioner pulley clockwise until the index aligns with the engine temperature:
      -20°C - left of alignment marks 13.
      20°C - center of alignment marks 14.
      50°C - right of alignment marks 15.
Tighten the tensioner roller bolt to 27 Nm 8.
Put pressure on the belt in DTD image. Make sure that the index of the tensioner roller moves freely.
Rotate the crankshaft two turns to the right.
Check the alignment of the timing marks 3 and 7.
Make sure the index of the tensioner roller is correctly aligned:
      -20°C - left of alignment marks 13.
      20°C - center of alignment marks 14.
      50°C - right of alignment marks 15.
If not: Repeat the tensioning procedure.
Remove the central nut from the crankshaft pulley 5.
Assemble the components in the reverse order of removal.
Fit the central nut of the crankshaft pulley 5. Tightening torque: 300 Nm. Use tool no. 999 5433.
      Note:
Use 35-40 mm long screws with tool no. 999 5433.
Fit new bolts on the crankshaft pulley 5. Tightening torque: 35 Nm + 50°.
      Kind regards

Hi I'm looking to change the lifters on my D5 as it makes a ticking noise and has since 3+ years. Video is very helpful, thanks. Question: is it likely I will need to replace the rocker arms as well? Saludos.

Hey, nice video. I m interested the part of when you put back the camshafts. U show the marks on the camshafts. That s the corect position of them? No lower no upper? When u put back the timing belt the camshaft marks are the same as u indicate?

    • @AjusaAutomotive
      @AjusaAutomotive  Год назад

Hi Paulo! That noise could be produced by the hydraulic lifters in bad conditions. Kind regards
