I took me like 10 seconds to realize that it was the Rubik’s Impossible scramble
Yup! Now if I ever forget the scramble, I can always figure it out again by solving a more difficult cube first. :)

They could make separate corner and edge mechanism pieces, so you could swap them as you like, so you don't need to do this that way :D

The problem with both the Oscar’s treasure chest and the yuxin magic box is that it is obvious that there is a secret in there. I have the Oscar’s treasure chest that has regular stickers on it, yet it is still obviously an Oscar’s treasure chest. It has a logo telling its a safe, it has an inverted color scheme and it’s 60mm instead of the regular ~57mm size that most cubes use. Also the yuxin is wayyy bigger than a regular cube. If both just presented themselves as regular 57mm speed cubes and didn’t say that it could open, than this mod wouldn’t be necessary
The Oskar's treasure chest is roughly normal-sized, so you could always replace the stickers!

Nice. Now YuXin has to release a version where you can customize the solution by swapping out the mechanism
I wonder if a less cheatable version of this mechanism could be made if each individual hole was shaped differently somehow. That way, while the bottom 2 layers might still not ned to be sovled for it to open, the top layer will have to be arranged in a specific order.
One could make the click mecanism for every side so only with all the pegs engaged it would work

Because right now it only has to have those pieces on the white side, not in that specific scramble

This mod is actually pretty cool, and i believe that this scramble or was your overall pb, where the only reason you got it was because of the scramble, I can be completely wrong but thats what i think (prob isnt that)

I'd be cool if they could decouple the locking mechanism from the pieces and switch between 'locking' or 'setting' like one of those locks with dials where you can set your own combination
The "cheat" way of opening those still requires someone to know what both of those are and before that requires someone to even care about a the cube. I'd say this is probably even safer than one of those fake cans as those are somewhat known so a thief might be more inclined to check for those.

I calculated that the cube you made has 44906400 possible combinations (4 out of 8 corners times 3 rotations each, times 4 out of 12 edges times 2 rotations each), so yeah it's pretty secure.

I have an Oskar's treasure chest (slightly newer) and mine opens from the yellow side instead. Realized almost immediately that you could just solve it using yellow as your bottom layer 💀

If you drill holes in every piece to make it look like it belongs to the locking side, no one could tell.
but we need them filled in otherwise it can unlock at any state. thats why we filled the holes from the unused white side in the first place

@@mrprogamerman693 The Rubik's Impossible Cube is a cube where the stickers change color depending on how you look at it. The orientation used in the video matches with what the cube looks like when it's solved.

A 9x9 is solved like a 5x5, an 8x8 is solved like a 4x4. A move with “w” in it (e.g. rw’) would be every piece on the right side until you get to the center. Here’s an example green means turning up ⬛⬛⬛⬛🟩🟩🟩🟩
