Her being a nurse and a seemingly a very understanding and empathic person in general, I think her heart breaks for his story and she wants to be that person that can bring happiness and love into his life, and that is what's kinda consuming her rather than her actual connection with him.
Hard disagree on your feelings about some of the hometowns. Jenn said running was right up her alley and she has talked about how athletic she is the entire episode, plus Devin found a workout he enjoys and took her on a date that was important to both of them. I always like when the hometowns are more normal days like going for a quick run and then playing with the dog in the park, it shows what life would actually be like. Like on Zach’s season when him and Katie went grocery shopping and built furniture together. And her and Jonathon playing lacrosse makes sense too. I don’t like Devin’s past with his social media and music career but looking at that date it made sense for them.
I can help but think, when JP saw this episode go down, the grocery scene specifically, he went to producers and immediately said” does my avocado deal mean nothing to you?!”

My opinion obviously, but Devin is all in...for now. He seems like the guy that once the novelty wears off he's out, and out quickly. The way he consistently looks her up and down and has made comments about her looks are red flags. The first night he mentioned liking when a woman gets her nails done was odd for someone looking for a wife. I used to think I needed attention like that from men, but they all ended up being toxic. Then I met my husband who didn't do that at all. He never looked at my body as if it was a piece of meat or "measured it up" like Devin does. He's been a wonderful loyal and devoted man for 10 years. I feel like in some of the earlier seasons it was more understood that a bachelorette could leave in a relationship without engagement, and I think that was healthier for the lead and contestants. The insistence that they get engaged after knowing each other for a short time (when they haven't interacted with them much around their friends/family or seen their social media) is part of why so many of the relationships fail. I know it's fun for us to see a romantic proposal but it's better for the clients to not obsess over the pressure of engagement being the only option/goal. I don't think it would be less interesting if a bachelor/bachelorette is trying to find a life partner even if they don't get engaged within the few weeks the show is filming.
To be fair to Jeremy, he just has his first one on one the week before. He was probably just as surprised to be at hometowns due to the Sam M fiasco. If he was in love with her at this point I would think he was crazy. Also, I think Marcus needs some healing before he gets engaged or even serious with anyone.
As someone from CT, Stew Leonards (the grocery store) is so iconic and fun!! I even went to a few birthday parties there growing up! Its such a favorite childhood memory for me and I was SOOO excited to see it on the show!! (Picking it for a hometown date was definitely an interesting choice though lol)

my other theory for why the Marcus and Jenn connection is strong is because she's formed a sort of trauma connection bond. Like i relate to feeling most comfortable and attached to someone who also has a lot of family/ life trauma if you do as well. (we've definitively seen that Jenn's trauma has caused her to feel like she can't relate as much to people without a lot of trauma)

Regarding Jeremy's hometown, having grown up in Connecticut, a few towns away, I love Stew Leonard's, and I love grocery stores in general. It's also a testament to how little there is to do in that area in that late fall, before Christmas season hits. It's so dull and depressing from November thru March, with some glimmers of holiday season breaking it up. I'm guessing they filmed this is mid November, that's why that park scene where Jenn started her date with Jeremy was so dreary, and creepy looking.

I ran for years and did a half marathon. I absolutely loved it. Sure there were days that it was hard, but many times I looked forward to it!

I don’t think Jenn is really is looking to get married either. I think she wants it. Eventually. RN she’s looking for lov I do blv that. The guys aren’t looking for lov. They came for the experience and is open to finding love. That’s all fine. I don’t think anyone wants to b engaged at the end I don’t blame them. Also they’re not drinking the koolAid of matrimony the show is feeding them. they’re realistic about getting married - this process of 2 dates isn’t convincing any of them. 👏🏼

I think Marcus’ story has something to do with it. Marcus is also super sensitive and his family seemed to allude to him being sensitive and good hearted. Maybe that’s what Jen sees? I have been very endeared to Marcus. He seems very kind and sensitive. I think he has a lot of work and healing to do before he is ready to get married though. I do think he wants it but he’s in his own way.
