The Giraffes in Giraffe center are the same ones found at Giraffe Manor(Most Instagramed hotel in Africa) which is right next and costs a whooping 1000$ a night. The giraffes graze in the wilderness where they are free to roam around but can also visit the center to get treats from visitors. The pellets consists of dry grass and molasses which is not harmful to the giraffes ,the pellets are also very tiny and easily consumable to the giraffes. Maasai market is very cool. Your tour guide was lovely. The CBD filming is no joke it is highly forbidden. Thank you for sharing the beautiful city of Nairobi.
Jason! My mom and I love your videos so much! I really hope you haven't left Nairobi yet. I would love to you give a tour of the areas around the outskirts of Nairobi that we love. I'm gonna cry if you've left! I hope you enjoyed your stay.
@@cjayw Hello! The places I was referring to are Ngong Hills, Kisamis, Pipeline(Kiserian) and Isinya in Kajiado county. Three of these places offer beautiful scenery for afternoon drives. I wouldn't say they are popular destinations for locals as we mostly go on drives in the area. A car or knowledge of the public transport routes is necessary for these areas. Is it your first time is Nairobi? I would recommend Ngong Hills for a Saturday hike. This one is quite popular with locals and it is really scenic and refreshing. I recommend going to the KICC rooftop for views of Nairobi . I go at least once every year and it is nice to relax(though windy) for maybe an hour. If you like thrifting, there is an open air market on Ngong Road called Toi market. My last trip was a few days ago. I really enjoy picking out really cute second hand items- It would be nice if you go with someone who knows the area. Lastly, I recently visited the David Sheldrick wildlife trust for orphan elephants and it was so lovely. The calves are so cute! I really enjoyed watching them feed and playing. I think there are a lot hidden gems here and there. It would depend on your travel preferences. Some more places I like are- Karen Blixen Museum, MovenPick the View restaurant(for the night view) and corner Baridi(lovely sunset at the end of the ngong hills) and if you do get a chance, go on a circuit drive in the outskirts of Nairobi(this could be my favourite thing to do) For places that locals visit, I am not quite sure I would represent a lot people. I feel like the place I encounter a lot of Nairobians is in shopping malls over the weekend. I really hope you enjoy your stay here. Welcome to Nairobi!
@@alycewangari Oh my goodness, this is so thorough and helpful. I like to do pretty much everything you mentioned. 🥰I am going to see about arranging time at most, if not all of what is mentioned. This is greatly appreciated. 🤗🤗🤗🤗 And yes, it's my first time in Nairobi! I'm so excited!

Wow 😮, that is the beauty of Nairobi. It feels amazing to see you people coming to Africa by yourselves rather than just viewing it from the TV. With our green city under the sun, Nairobi becoming modernized and growing on and on. We really love the changing phase. I really feel like that uber driver charged you more over that 25 minutes drive
As a white guy from northern europe - I think that price for the taxi was very cheap compared to what I usually give. Often the starting price is 8$ just when you enter the taxi and for a 25 minute drive? 40-50$ easily. And its not to brag about me being rich, because I cant even afford those prices 🥲
Wow This is so amazing.. Holiday season is coming I challenge you to visit Tanzania Serengeti, Tarangire , trekking Kilimanjaro , Ngorongoro conversational area and Zanzibar we can accommodate you a Safari karibu sana!
Amazing! You did your research about places. You'd pass for a Nairobian. By the ay you describe places, one would thinks you have been here for a long time. Welcome to Kenya. Your tour has triggered an awakening to start exploring places.
Thanks Jason. Welcome to Africa! I think the giraffes have a proper meal provided by the park which is a combination of the giraffes themselves browsing on the acacia trees within the park & some pre-prepared meals to supplement the not-so-great browsing. I imagine that there are not enough trees or bushes within the park to sustain them. The tourists only provided some tidbits to entice the giraffes to come closer to the fence-line & interact with the visitors. Is that good or ethical? I am not sure either but similar things are done in some zoos around the world. Wish you safe & memorable travelling.
@@JasonBillamTravel - hakuna-matata & you're welcome. PS: if after a while, you start NOT liking the Kenyan & East-Central-Southern African standard meal component known in Kenya as "ugaali", don't worry. Many Africans find it too stodgy too. People eat it because it is the cheapest thing that provides the poor with enough carbohydrates to make them feel full for a bit longer than the fancier & more expensive options. I heard that there are some good & cheap "Ethiopian restaurants" in Nairobi. So, something a bit different to try. Good Luck.
You're a good blogger. You've decided to go the small local restaurant that's where you get genuine local cuisine. Many bloggers who come to Kenya only try out food in big restaurant chains and in those places you don't really get the unadulterated Kenyan cuisine.

For some reason, I've been skipping this video whenever RUclips recommends it to me for months. And now that I've finally watched it, turns out, this is actually a very very good video. Nice job, Jason.
WELCOME TO KENYA NAIROBI CITY , WELCOME HOME KARIBU KENYA HAKUNA MATATA, finally you are here in my country feel free feel at home we are welcoming here , if you meet anyone on the streets just say "NIAJE " and they will say "POA" meaning Hi then Too, ASANTE means Thank you , KARIBU means Welcome.
Thanks for showcasing my country....... point of correction, the giraffes are in the rescue centre, once they're okay, they're taken back to the wild.
KARIBU Kenya...If you would like to visit remote villages out of town to experience a bit of Cultural practices then I will be glad to take you around.
Love AFRICA from INDIA.
You looks so cute sweetie 🌹
I hit the like button on your videos even before viewing them which is how confident that I’ll enjoy them. A full proof system as I’ve never been let down.
Ugali may well be something you get used to, the brown can be really nice.
Lots of good food in Kenya, you should try irio, githeri, muthokoi, mutura, njahi, matoke and on the coast pilau, mahamri, mbaazi. Enjoy, Kaka!
Who gave you that name?
nikii uriieta muguruki master? haha
@@myexpatlife9179 I worked one time in Kenya then kept visiting after that. Muguruki was the name I've used on things like travel forums ever since. Sadly I've not returned to Kenya for a good few years now 😒
@@that_bloke_kiri sadly my Gikuyu is even worse than my Kiswahili.
Whattttt muguruki🤔🤣
Love the quality of your work. Kenya surely is a wonderful country, I have no doubt you going to enjoy your stay there. After watching your video Exploring Riyad, Saudi Arabia I started following you & I must say your videos are very informative and fun to watch at the same time.
That’s great to hear!
Thanks Jason for lifting our country to the world.
I really pity myself seeing you guys (esp -foreigners) visiting Giraffe center before me yet i stay within that area.
Wow?
@@irenedavo3768 yea
Why have you not visited?

Fantastic, Kenya my country. Thank uou for highlighting positives.
Ugali, especially brown, can be quite boring if you're eating it for the first time. What you eat and where you eat in Kenya will be determined a lot by who your guide is. I appreciate your positive energy. Welcome to Kenya.
The brown ugali versio from Kisii region is nourishing and 100 percent organic. Try it someday with vegetables and goat or beef stew and kachumbari (coleslaw). You'll love it.
One day you must explain how is possible that in every country you go, you know so many beautiful girls!
Use tinder and Instagram
I watched this movie again, I have to see this city !!🌹
I like your beard 😉, I can't wait to visit Niarobi this year. Love from 🇳🇬

Wow... The journey begins, waiting for your videos now part of my life. This going to be fabulous. All Best Wishes 💕
Thanks, lots more to come!
Hi there! What are the places called? I'll be visiting next month and I'd love to see areas that the locals visit.
@@cjayw I'm glad to hear it helped. Karibu Nairobi.
Absolutely great videos ! Your content is very well organized overall . The emotion you want to express appears as it is . I can see in this video what makes someone happy to watch . Keep upload more videos . Hope to see you around and be connected . Thanks for sharing Have a great day !
A white is definitely rich😂😂
The rates are determined by the app
As a white guy from northern europe - I think that price for the taxi was very cheap compared to what I usually give. Often the starting price is 8$ just when you enter the taxi and for a 25 minute drive? 40-50$ easily.
And its not to brag about me being rich, because I cant even afford those prices 🥲
Actually...you needed a better guide
Thank you for showing off our country
The most relaxing voice on RUclips , I love your videos 🙌
Thanks Richell
Also the guy from "Authentic traveling" is American and his voice is very very relaxing 🤤
Wow This is so amazing.. Holiday season is coming I challenge you to visit Tanzania Serengeti, Tarangire , trekking Kilimanjaro , Ngorongoro conversational area and Zanzibar
we can accommodate you a Safari karibu sana!
Brits have no fear! They're go anywhere regardless if they're the minority, not just islands. The food looks good. Much respect. Cheers mate. 🙌🏾
They really do have fear. They’re literally afraid of minorities in their own country (well some of them at least) 😂😂😂
Welcome to Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪much love ooh
The giraffes feed on the leaves of trees. Those pellets that people feed them are like snacks. So it's not unethical.
Just subscribed, that was a nice video. Beautiful city.
Welcome aboard!
The veggies you ate are called managu! Nice video by the way
Thanks for clearing that up!
Amazing! You did your research about places. You'd pass for a Nairobian. By the ay you describe places, one would thinks you have been here for a long time. Welcome to Kenya. Your tour has triggered an awakening to start exploring places.
Nairobi is beautiful ❤️
Welcome to kenay hope you found it nice
Masha Allah🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Jason Billam, Nairobi is a fantastic place for family fun!
Welcome to Nairobi 😊
Great video presentation, Jason Billam! Keep up the good work!
Nairobi is beautiful
Those giraffes don't depend on those pellets... they have more to browse on..
the pellets are but snacks in between.
Thanks for that - makes it seem a bit more understandable.
Good Luck.
beautiful city . thanks for showcasing
Welcome to kenya my homeland 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Love KENYA from INDIA.
Agnes ni mrembo,.. iko sawa kaka hapo kwa kuku and ugali 😍😍😍
You're a good blogger. You've decided to go the small local restaurant that's where you get genuine local cuisine. Many bloggers who come to Kenya only try out food in big restaurant chains and in those places you don't really get the unadulterated Kenyan cuisine.
I also like the fact you travel alone..you give opinions from what you yourself think..it’s easy to understand..
