I think Africa is more effective and powerful when divided into regional powerhouses, rather than just trying to mash the entire continent into one. East Africa has definitely been an extraordinary place in the past few years, with a lot of improvements. I totally want to do Kenya and Tanzania on a one month long trip sometime. When you visit a country in Africa, it’s advised that you visit at least one of its regional partners or neighbours at the same time. It makes for a different trip, one where you appreciate the continent more, rather than just trying to plough through the entire continent without admiring the distinction in beauty and culture of different regions of the continent. @UCFcECGH2MYuQjPLuwtpa1-Q That's a possible road block, but Africa is in such a dire state that if one smaller country, Rwanda for example, takes off. The other smaller, neighboring countries follow. Kenya would then have to hitch on to some extent or run the risk of being left behind completely. In other words, become a failed state. At least I hope that's what will happen...

We visited Nairobi a couple years ago, one of our stops was the David Sheldrick Trust, we paid ahead to have the smaller group in the afternoon and it was so worth it! The whole city is amazing! We weren't there but for 2 nights on either end of our safari out in the Maara. I feel that I need to go back and spend more time in Nairobi!
