    I love these types of performance gaming laptop videos you do! In depth!
    However I would love a video of you using a bootcamp'd (latest RX 5500M 8gb Gddr6 paired with i9 and 32gb sodimm) and then reviewing the gaming performance, thermals and any pro's and con's to using apple architecture with windows software/programs/games.
    In fact for the past 4 months I have been rocking that very MacBookPro 16inch setup...I only use it to play R6Siege and wow it boasts really good gaming performance but I havent done anything past that. I am considering making it my professional and gaming all in one. Moving over my editing programs (Premier, and AVID and Resolve) and using not only for gaming but also for professional work use. Thermals are the only issue, it seems to get 10-15c hotter in windows than in MacOS. I have elevated my mac and put two PWM 120mm fans under neath which provide very good cooling mind you it makes my office loud. Should I put new thermal paste? I love windows more than MacOS, it just works better and I just cannot seem to get used to MacOS which is affecting my editing. It's weird to say from a long time PC user but my MacBook Pro is running windows better than any of my beefy PC rigs...which is why I want to convert using strictly bootcamp windows but on a MacBook Pro haha.
    Let me know any thoughts on this and I would love if you conducted the same experiment.

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  4 года назад +1

      Cheers! You'll probably never see any macbook content on the channel unfortunately. The channel is way too small for Apple to care about, and given a lot of larger channels review their machines I'd be spending thousands of my own money for little gain, unfortunate but that's the way it is unless someone is able to loan me a machine.

    Well I tried at the latest bios for MSI Gs66 stealth, even if enabling overclocking options, due to pundervolt vulnerability it is disabled. IXTU and Throttlestop can't do anything to change the CPU voltage. That's why i7 10750h is continue to overheating and throttling at heavy load tasks. And yes, the only option is too limit CPU boost to 4 Ghz max.

    I've been wanting a new gaming laptop for a while, would you recommend getting one this year? The GS66 appeals to me with all that performance but should I just wait for the AMD CPUs to be paired with RTX graphics above the 2060? I am a bit sceptical of all the benefits that the new AMD CPUs are bringing though, I've heard that the G14 has a "slow screen" whereas the GS66 has a "fast screen" where response times are low. As someone that does not care for graphics as much as response times and fps for gaming, this laptop appeals to me more.

    What is the best undervolt you recommend for the i7-1050H? Also, I have seen many people complain that their BIOS settings didn't save once they clicked on "save BIOS'" or something, and also read on a page about undervolting on MSi laptops that clicking "save BIOS" doesn't actually save it but instead you have to do something else, which unfortunately the writer didn't mention. Would really appreciate if you replied to let me know how to save the changes in the BIOS and what the best undervolt for 10th gen i7 is.

    Hey Jarrod, I need a laptop for school and gaming. The battery life can’t be too short, but I don’t need 10+ hours either. I’m looking for a price between $1000 - $1500. I was thinking of buying the Asus G15 or A15. I don’t want to give people virgin vibes with the laptop so it can’t be looking flashy. I don’t need it right now I can wait a month or two if needed. What do you think is a suitable laptop for me?

      UPDATE: So after playing around a bit I do think that I got some improvements. The largest improvement was actually repasting the CPU and GPU with Thermal Grizzly's paste. that made me get 2850 consistently and 2870 max. I only used cinebench r20 and simply did one test aft another only allowing 20 seconds to cool in between. I have a current stable under-volt of -.175. This has allowed me to achieve a max Cinebench score of 2933, yet the average is around 2900. However, now that I have tweaked it to see what I could get I am now simply going to lower the max voltage and run Linux (Pop_OS) as my daily driver anyway. DEATH to windows! LOL
