It appears clear that there are two separate worlds in Final Fantasy 7 - the question is what is the nature of these 2 worlds?

**EDIT** - Something I did not clarify in this video - those effected would only be those who can see the Whispers - thats why Kyrie and Elmyra are in both worlds but not so much the main cast.
Jesse Raspberry could easily foil this entire theory, that said I believe the true mystery is finding out what the nature of these two worlds in FF7 Rebirth are, and through that we can figure out exactly why Sephiroth wants merge them for the "Reunion."
I heard a theory that Im liking for what it implies for the future of the trilogy: that the world that Zack and Biggs are in is the Lifestream itself and the events that are playing out is a "simulation" of sorts that the planet is showing them. This is assumed because in Remake, when Zack is moving past Cloud and Aerith during the cross, the background is qhite the way it was in Advent Children when Cloud talks to Aerith or Zack, implying that it is the Lifestream they are talking from. Also, when Zack opens the door to the church, the background behind him is also white, similar to Advent Children again when Aerith and Zack return to the Lifestream at the end of the movie. This would imply that the people in the church are actually the victims of the Sector 7 plate drop (this is speculation from the theory creator).
The reason I like this theory is that the implication is that the unconcious Cloud Zack is carrying is the "true Cloud" that is out of commission and that needs to be woken up. Another implication is that if this is the Lifestream or some purgatory realm created by the lifestream, then during the Lifestream sequence when Tifa helps Cloud put himself back together, there is a chance of Zack and maybe Aerith being there to help Tifa and maybe even be playable in that section.
The crazy part of all this: we waiting years for this game to develop… but things are happening in the game in hours days, and months at the most. Even for us to have to until 2027 for part 3, just like part 2, the game is continuing right from where we left off.
FF7R trilogy takes a lot of inspiration from Versus XIII.
FF7R has a lot of parallel with the KH series.
Zack's World looks a lot to be some kind of : Fictional World. Yes. A versus World. A world of what can't be real. Dead being Alive.
Like Valhalla in FFXIII
and lightning return the final episode see the world of Etro, the world of the dead merging with the material world... which see the world being stopped having 13 days before dying.
What would happen if we get to see this in FF7R final episode: both world merging, 7 days, 7 second before the end of the world.
Lots of thought here but there is a LOT of interconnectivity being made.
I do like the 2 worlds idea. My impression though is there're 3 worlds. I thought of it when I saw the 1st full trailer we got. Barrett, Tifa, Red and Aerith are all being carried off, implying they're dead. That takes place after the chase scene in chapter 18. If i remember correctly during the chase, a helicopter shoots down a tunnel, collapsing it on everyone in the party besides Cloud. Luckily the whispers interfered and the party lived. There's also a scene where Cloud becomes one of Sephiroth's flunkies. So my theory is this: there's 3 worlds, one where Cloud gives into Sephiroth's control, for Zack, Tifa, Barrett, Red and Aerith are gone. 2nd world is where Tifa and Barret are dead, while Zack, Cloud and Aerith is alive. The last world is the remake world. If i had to guess, the first world i mentioned is just doomed. 2nd world will have a chance, and 3rd world will play out like the OG. I'm still trying to figure out how Sephiroth plays into this, in terms of wanting to merge the worlds. Maybe its to tie up loose ends so he can be unstoppable, or maybe its the planet trying to make different universes in order to find a possible way to survive. I'm only speculating at this point.
In closing, I believe that Aerith will die, but the knowledge and memories will transfer into the Aerith in Zack's timeline. When she awakens, she, Zack and Biggs (and possibly Vegetable Cloud) will find a way to come to the remake world, assisting them in defeating Sephiroth. I loved this discussion. Keep up the great work.
