We all know The Master has his own intentions and plays things pretty close to the chest, but there are elements and aspects to this character that I think make the perfect parallel to not only characters like Sora, but the Kingdom Hearts series as a whole.

This one was a BLAST! Easily one of my favorite episodes of all time- thanks for hanging out everyone!!
I think that it would be an appropriate bit of storytelling for Sora to like and believe the MoM as he gets manipulated and it takes Riku and Kairi to save him in a way similar to how Sora had to help Riku and fight Riku in KH1, and where Kairi’s heart and the self-sacrifice scene culminated.
I can see something similar where Riku has to fight Sora and stop Sora from doing bad things because instead of Darkness and Ansem it’s Light and the Master for Sora, and Kairi saves Sora in the end.
Nomura said that one of the themes of KH4 is perception. That to the people of Unreality the whole thing with Riku, Sora and Kingdom Hearts is all fictional and what they experience in their reality is the truth and vice versa for the KH cast.
That theme of perception can carry over to the conflict where Sora genuinely believes he’s doing good things with the Master and Riku sees the harm.

Ever since the MoM pulled out his Keyblade I saw it as an instant indicator of darkness that nobody in the story acknowledges. I wonder if Ava saw the darkness in Luxu during their clash, and if he revealed that it's inside her too, which then makes me wonder if we'll get a 'the MoM has been using us all this time' realization scene, Luxu puts the keyblade away and says 'it's true, but you must not stray from your role, raise the dandelions' which she already feels like its her duty to fulfill.
I really just want more scenes that talk about their plans to defeat darkness or more discussions behind the master's back. It hurts that we may never see daybreak town in full 3D too.

This scene and the conclusion you guys come to is really spinning my brain. The master is saying that he himself is the false light and young xehanort is oblivious af! And then MoM says his own name to xehanort and there's a flash of light??? Whattt! That's too sick. Nomura is wild for that..
But here's my input on that, earlier in the stream you guys said the master might have taken yozoras real body or something like that.
In this exact scene, Young xehanort says "the weak strip the stronger of their power, claiming it for their own, justifying it by saying they earned it" (or whatever he says)
What if young xehanort is unintentionally describing the master of masters right in the master of masters face? 😮
To take it a step further, what if the MoM is reacting the way he is, saying what he's saying all because it's true what xehanort is saying, so he's naturally getting defensive and deflecting 😬 the MoM may be fighting serious inner battles that the character and the kh fanbase know nothing about, yet. His past is NOT concrete so far, we don't know what his untamed ego may have done to his friendships, his own perception, or his own heart.
Reminds me a lot of the Story of Shadowbringers. I hope that there will be parallels between Emet Selch and the Master of Masters. That could be really interesting! Emet Selch himself only wanted the best for his people and I think he is kind of similar to the Master of Masters in that sense. I really can't wait for the next arc. It feels like Kingdom Heart is just getting started!

I have a theory, the original timeline Sora who lost everyone became the Master, the 13 darknesses that cast off their physical forms are Xehanort and his organization, the new timeline confronts remnants of the original destroyed timeline.
What a great stream. Pointing out that the conversation between Young Xehanort and MoM in ReMind is telling us ALL ABOUT MOM is brilliant. Honestly great discussion Landi, I couldn’t agree more with everything you said about MoM. He’s the false light.

I would like for the Darknesses to be the main antagonist of KH4 before going into battling the Foretellers themselves. Right now, I don’t see any of them being final boss material. While I mostly want to know the names of the other six Darknesses, with one of them being Nothingness in Vanitas, and I think some were named in Remind when Chirithy mentions Sora’s friends’ feelings: sadness, fear, anxiety. It’s hard to think of what the last two could be, maybe Pleasure (like over indulgence) and Confusion(?) - again not really sure for the last two emotions/feelings that would work with the other Darknesses.
Going on: hopefully the Master’s safety net actually works and it allows all 13 darknesses to gain physical form again. That would be a nice final boss for KH4. Then the Master could take his cloak off, then by KH5 and 6, we could have Luxu as the final boss of 5 and MoM as the final boss of 6.

Regardless of what people think of KH3, the writing for the MoM has remained consistent throughout all his appearances.
I am definitely looking forward for more of this guy, even just for Ray Chase's voice acting.
Great stream. Something I started thinking about. Right after MoM drops his name to Xehanort, the cutscene shifts to the present with old Xehanort saying soemthing like, "i never learned who he was." What did MoM say that made Xehanort still unsure of who he was??

He said his name was Lux, as if he were an embodiment of the Light itself.

I will say…I’m on the fence about the ‘Sora is the MOM’ theory but it intrigued me so much I HAD to do a story about a universe where that’s possible and I found a way for it to work in a crazy timeloop😂
I believe the Master of Master’s name is Death. He’s the grim reaper.
His real name is Lux, it means Light in Latin. He changed it to Superbia which means Pride.
Anybody wonder if Strelitzia takes Ava’s place in the MoM’s ranks or if she’s some key to Luxu to being a traitor. I truly hope Luxu stays a villain, and that the only traitorous thing he did was interacting with Brain, thus being labeled the traitor
You mean Invi and Ira, with Aced making many mistakes, he and Gula might reconsider, Luxu is a wildcard and we don’t know what his true intentions are, Ava might ally with the guardians willingly and much later Gula and aced, Invi and Ira are already brainwashed by their master to side only with him.
If Brain is actually Ardyn Izunia, he must have been the wildcard good guy originally in versus 13

So MOM sees stuff with xehanorts keyblade right? He saw what happened to sora. Saw everything xehanort did. I bet he’s studying outcomes n that’s why he talked to xehanort. That’s why he knew about sora, ventus, roxas, xion, all the oddities and they got saved. Data collected right?
This is my theory what if the situation with the master of masters is like a similar situation as Voldemort from Harry Potter the master of masters made the foretellers as vessels for darkness made horcruxes , luxu is nagini which the master keeps close and trust too get the job done and Sora I don't know must have a piece of the master in him which is why their mannerisms are so similar in a certain way. And the x-blade is the elder wand.
