A few of my friends from Discord mentioned that Nomura was even the one who came up with the idea for Limit Breaks and pitched it to Kitase.. I think that is so freaking cool!👌🏻😁
I agree, it would be weird to cut the scene. It definitely seems like something is lost in translation. Kitase does say right after "I thought certain scenes could be cut..." and not that Barrett's backstory or Dyne be removed entirely. For example, he could have meant the Flashback scenes with North Corel being destroyed. Remembering a previous interview, Kitase mentioned how he originally thought they could get to the end of the game in two parts. If that was originally the goal, I imagine creating new assets for what North Corel looked like along with a bunch of unique character models would add a lot of time and work. So maybe he thought the cost outweighed the benefit of having that scene. The scene by itself may have not been impactful in the initial draft on paper, but once everything was in place and put together, it was. Or maybe he wanted to delete everything lol who knows.
My favourite scene was always the section within the life stream following Tifa, when she helps Cloud find himself. Such a shame we won't get to see that until the 3rd game, if at all.
Controversially I think they need to keep Aerith’s story original to the original. Her big event in the original is a pivotal part of character development for the whole team and a huge source of drive for them all
Did anyone else notice the mirroring scar over Barret and Dyne's eyes? Not sure if that was fully disclosed, but was that at the same time when they lost their arms?
This will probably get flack. Not what happens at the temple of the ancients, but after you get the black materia, Aerith communicating with Cloud on the path where you get Kajuta because she left the party and showed her importance in the story, I thought it was crazy she had to go and pray with the white materia and we had to catch up with her. She straight up disappeared and was ahead of everyone and it made me feel like she was super important. I understood the Ancient thing already from the Shinra building but she actually left us and it had an impact on me when it came to her and her as a party member.
This thing about nomura made me think about a comment i saw on this new Ghibli movie, which made me think about stories that have ‘artists’ as the primary storyteller opposed to a ‘writer’. And I think it’s just that an artists prerogative is to put cool shit into the story, not necessarily tell a ‘good’ story...
Hi Blitz! Finally decided to subscribe, because you're one of my favorite FF7 bloggers. Your tutorials also helped a lot when I struggled with boss battles in the Remake. Cant wait for your content and reactions when Rebirth comes out!
Hey Blitz! My first ever comment on this channel! If this might help you get back into the KH series it's actually not as complicated as people make it out to be. Honestly I find Soulsborne-games way more convoluted, not only due to the complexity of their themes but the fragmented way their lore (which isn't storytelling, I know,) is presented, but it never stopped people from enjoying the hell out of that genre. Also I think people give Max too much credit whenever he talks about Nomura-related stuff when he clearly seems to have a slight bias against him. I'm not saying he does this maliciously, but anytime he brings up his name he loses me. Anyway, the more we hear about these stories about Kitase's craziness, the more I tend to imagine Kitase as Pinocchio and all the other devs as his multiple jiminy crickets😂
Thanks dude, I most definitely will be making a full effort return to kingdom hearts after rebirth 🙏🏾 I appreciate you commenting! Welcome to the channel
As someone that grew up playing KH1 and 2 and absolutely loved them... Your feelings about the other games in the series is so relatable lol I couldn't get into 3 either... They're fun games though for sure, but story-wise I'm not just feeling it... It's also funny to hear Nomura is once again the voice of reason against Kitase's ideas LOL and now Hamaguchi too (which I think is such a good thing coz he's a fan of the og)
Shinra Archeology Department's website has translated and archived developer interviews going all the way back to 1997 so there's a bunch in there that talk about the development of the original game. I would recommend giving their website a look if anyone is interested. Nomura was responsible for MUCH more of the original game than people will ever give him credit for... I mean, he is even credited alongside Sakaguchi in the credits of the OG game with the base story. There's a reason why there was such a shift going from the more classical fantasy stories of FF 1-6 to the more sci-fi and weird ones like FF7, FF8, and FFX and it's largely because of the Nomura & Nojima combo. The main cast, Sephiroth and Cloud's relationship, Jenova, and a certain character's death were also largely his ideas. He also drew the storyboards for ALL of the summon animations in the original game so things like Knights of the Round are some of his masterpieces.
Red's backstory kills me... I'm gonna be such a baby when that part happens. I also can't wait for the date scene; "interrupted by fireworks" is one of my favorite songs from the entire OST and I'm very eager to hear it in Rebirth. Vincent's backstory is also tragic and impactful, as is Zack's... everything that happens related to Meteor, because the word is filled with so much tension and fear - goodness I can't wait for the next game
Because I'm not aware of how different FF7 Rebirth will be, I'm most interested in playing various songs on that in-game piano. I do think it's baffling they almost cut that storyline out of the game though. That moment with Barret and his friend was not spoiled for me when I played the original FF7 in like 2010 and experiencing that.. it shocked and also stayed with me; very memorable indeed.
I am grateful and thankful that Nomura and Hamaguchi stuck to their guns and kept the scene in the game because I can imagine going through this game without that scene and it would just feel like something is missing, especially since it’s such a defining moment for Barret with his backstory.. but OMG, I am looking forward to this thing so much, is gonna be one hell of an emotional scene, and I will probably be ballin like a baby 😢😭.. so yeah this scene is most likely gonna break me, as it will probably break us all!💔😢😭
Oh, our heartstrings are going to be worn out by the end of Rebirth. I fully expect to cry more than once during this game. I think the way his quote was worded meant that there was one specific scene that was going to get cut from the Dyne segment, not the entire segment altogether. There's no way they could cut that from the game and as they mentioned, they wanted to expand on all side characters too.
Bro. I have been hollering about Dyne's story for so long and if it makes me hurt like I want it to, then I win. Barrett's links to the world get overshadowed so much and I am just beyond excited to know they retained the sequences in Corel Prison. I am hoping the whole Corel Prison scenes, and flashbacks relating to Barrett, are done to the best of their ability. I NEED IT.
I’m most excited for the Red/Seto scene. That was always one of my favorite parts of the OG. I’m most curious about the betrayal scene tho and how it’s handled in Rebirth.
Yeah, I saw that Max video too, the one where he talks about the story in Advent Children, and how it’s not that great, but the combat is phenomenal, thx to Nomura.👌🏻
Same. Hollywood still nodding at the fights in AC too. Tbh, Loz tossed his bike with his lower torso after stopping so he wins over Wolverine’s copycat “punch” the ground to stop scene. 😆
One of the most impactful moments for me was when you find out. Vincent and sypherotu's mother used to be togetbefore before he became a vampire and before sypheroth was born
Well I want to see a route that you can save Aerith from death when Sephiroth stab her and it will lead to an A ending, if the devs won't cut Aerith death scene from the original game 🤔.
Most everyone has had a say that I agree with/2nd on OG stuff that’ll be in Rebirth… So for the ~new~ moment I’m likely going to be emotional with & looking forward to the pain in Rebirth clips we’ve seen so far (in the latest theme song trailer) is Zack’s unrequited dialogue with KO’d Aerith.
In OG Dyne felt like a bad guy and an asshole so I really felt nothing but watching the trailer almost brought me to tears so I guess it's gonna hit really hard
I really respect Nojima-san the most regarding FFVII's depth. He's the one responsible for how it turned out. If not for the depth of the story, we'd just have a mediocre Nomura fever dream like KH, and might even find ourselves lost in Dementor-knockoff outer space with Cait Sith at the wheel. idk
All I have to say is I'm feel I'm going to have to prepare myself for an emotional roller-coaster ride. I feel I will laugh my ass off at some points and I feel I will even cry at some points. I'm also interested in how the aerith scene will play oit at the forgotten city as well. I'm sure they beefed that part up and will be even more emotional than in the OG version
I think besides wondering what the hell is up with Zack (and if he’s gonna be playable in any measure) I’m most excited to see the Red XIII scene in Cave of the GI. Always makes me cry!!!
The Dyne section of the game is one I'm looking forward to the most. Excellent backstory for Barret and even Marlene. Dyne is also a wonderfully written tragic character. The Gi Tribe/Seto storyline will also be fire. Honestly Rebirth is going to have a lot of "holy shit!" moments: Cid, Vincent, Wutai, Gold Saucer, Chocobo Racing, and of course THAT moment. I need a PS5 quick lol.
Thank you for not being like the some content creators or other doods... Lol... just throwing Nomura under the bus for alot of stuff. Don't get me wrong stuff like KH is definitely confusing at times. But I also feel like SE kinda debacles stuff like FF15 and ppl just assume its only cause Nomura. Lol heck I seen a comments blaming the hallway aspect of FF13 on him too, when all he did was character designs. So its refreshing to see a leveled headed conversation about him. I am just happy we get more final fantasy to play and enjoy.
People forget Kitase is the Godfather fan who came up with nearly killing the most of party on the return to Midgar. With just him & Nomura, we’re in for a wild ride for sure. Tho if you like gritty dark stories - Hamaguchi is a definitely a great addition since he was in charge of Mobius, & its FFVII crossover with a slice & twist of the Masamune for the Black Materia.
@@TAHOEkaleidonaut tbf. Mobius was his own creation to fail and he was limited to gacha-genre of mobile games through suits. Hamaguchi, if anything, has shown the spirit of Sakaguchi when it comes to FF7r.
@@juliansanchezharris5773 Yeah, true. Now that I think of it, I don’t think SE would spend the time on it, but it’d be amazing if they could resurrect Mobius from Mobile Game Hell & get it adapted for Consoles. I know they’re currently doing it for a popular Japan-only title, forget which one. I doubt it since the new boss is concentrating on delivering AAA games, & unless Mobius was remastered/remade/rebooted somehow to keep up with current consoles I doubt it’s going anywhere.🥺
I really hope they don't do any more of the half assed Shinra Headquarter and Hojo lab part like Remake were it's just a bunch of door opening scenes, that area just killed the entire game for me.
Remake/Midgar had intentionally placed hallways, passages, & etc to allow for “seemless” loading on the PS4. Since Intergrade, & onwards will be on the PS5, there’s barely a blip between cutscene & gameplay, or different areas in gameplay. No more filler graphics to hide the loading.✨
Being since FF7R covered Midgar and the escape of therof. I'm hoping we see the rest of disc one, Aerith's scene, then the open world with the weapons, Junon, Rocket town, Space maybe, Huge materia. It should end where the og disc 3 starts. Two PS5 discs. so it's gonna be big. I hope they at least explain some things to make the og make sense. I love the og and it is my all time favorite game ever. Im invested in the remake too. Whats up with Zack being back? Do you think he will die again for good along with Aerith? Do you think Cloud will kill Aerith? Do you think someone else might die like Tifa? I'm both excited and nervous. Waiting anxiously with Digital Deluxe preordered and ready to download/play day 1!
I sure hope that scene doesn't happen at the city of the ancients I am not sure if I will be able to handle it specially since its going to be more realistic
I blame Nomura for making Tabatha take the fall for FF15 when he was in control of that project but he ran to KH3 which was a let down after waiting 15YRS for that game. I lost all respect for Nomura but everyone praise him as a god. 👀 Another thing why does everyone want the story to be original? What’s the point of playing it if you know exactly what’s gonna happen again. That’s stupid in my opinion. I think changes will make it feel like a brand new game. I think if they keep some things the same but changes should happen in this story it could make it more impactful imagine Genesis and Minerva is the true big bad stuff like that would be a welcome change. I don’t wanna play the same story from the 90’s I already played that story. 👀👀
Okay from what I've seen, it looks like dyne will not be jumping. So far the story has been about trying to do better. People that have died, aren't. Many of the people showcased in the ending of remake would have and should have died in the plate fall.
@@BltzZ Between the English and Japanese ... Japanese keeps the Yakuza/angry guy persona, a facade of aggression and arrogance. In English despite the same posture, there's doubt... Almost like how dare you break my resolve by letting me know she's still alive. I also saw another clip where Dyne and Barret are talking, and he hands a picture of Marlene to a very calm, almost crying Dyne. Without the anger and hate, it'd be a lot harder for things to escalate to the point of jumping.
kitase and nomura will be responsible for major losses this year. rebirth will be the last installment as this will not sell well. the sales figures, trophy distribution and overall audience appreciation of there incoherent story telling show dimished interest in the franchise. Remake's focus and extremely poor delivery of things like the dance segment and the whispers who literally are a paradox of actions and intentions have brand damaged FF7. The terrible balancing in battle and party management (square enix have never made a great 3rd person fighting game ever) absurd decisions like you cannot equip weapons materia etc in a fight despite 15 allowing these type of actions as long as your character is not mid action, also hard mode takes away item use (worst idea ever ruined entire mode made it pointless and stupid). FF16 didnt break even at 3 million sales there are not enough ps5 users to make these games profitable. multi platform release would give them a chance but would open them up to greater criticism from a larger audience. Reveals and trailers have an interest of sub 2 million views average about 1 million. Square are giving remake away with rebirth cause they can not sell that game and havent for a while, this is to attempt to make the value of rebirth seem inflated to trick people into buying rebirth cause its "value for money". K and N are panicing as pre sales are awful thats why they are releasing so much information reveals trailers gamplay footage reaching out to influencers to drum up interest that is none existent. After all the fails SE has had recently i am sure having seen and heard how corporate respond to Losses that they have been told if this game doesnt sell well the whole project is cancelled and their team is gone while they shelve all single player final fantasy installments only focusing on 14 that makes money and has a larger audience appreciation. K & N were the worst people to appoint for this and they are the architects of this franchises demise it is sad. i had such high hopes for a remake of 7 unfortunately this giant stinky half finished turd will be its legacy
No I totally get that. I understand that in this field where I am I will be spoiled by things due to the nature of the job. Whether its professionally being able to play the game early. Or trolls spoiling from leaks. Over the years I have never been able to be surprised by a game im playing since I started doing this fulltime in 2020 after june. It's ok and I accept it. Not to mention, while I am at 100K subs I am relatively small in comparison to my peers I look up to. But to grow I have to stay hungry and on the ball with these things. Ultimately when I get to that point where Max or Suzi is at then I can actively work on avoiding spoilers to play things I am excited for
I find you a very reasonable man, but let's be honest, when you hold the title of Director, you are the one to blame. Even if he didn't write it, he had the final say and he is ultimately responsible for how the game came out. Whatever he did in the OG does not matter when we're talking about FF7R. I don't even know why people bring it up. I'm more worried about how they can completely ruin the game by changing too many things. They made the game, so it's not sacred for them and they feel like they can change anything, and that is a problem. They confirmed someone will die, but not who will die, and that's what worries me.
We actually don't know what each person is responsible for but for certain what's been consistently said is that it was a 4 man co direction team. Regardless of Nomura being billed as main director, all 4 had equal say and had to vote on things. But what's also been said is that kitase himself had requested the most changes and had to be reeled back in often. Kitase wanted it to be 2 parts and cut various things. I'm being reasonable with the information presented to us in those interviews and even these ones
ff7 is no kindergarden game.. cringe, nonsens, slapstick and fanboý brainfart bullshit dosnt change that.. it just shows that some people obviouslý got the wrong job
Bltzz even YOU are saying nomura writte things? Jesus christ man, don't be that person, nomura is not a writter, NOJIMA WRITTE for him in every single work, or majority of them. Even Max was corrected in his own live. My god, people spread this information like a cancer, poor nomura, every time getting the hate of people without being guilty. And about dyne, jesus christ too.... people go SO HARD in the interviews, i need take a break of internet, twitter and etc, people are so fucking dramatic without the full game in hands, complaining about every single interview and details.
Sakaguchi & Nomura got concept and original story credits for the OG FF7 and FF7R. While Nojima does write the overall story, Nomura is heavily involved in that aspect for all his projects. You can even look that up too.
@@BltzZ And what does this have to do with being a writer? The story writer for all projects has always been Nojima, you criticized the story writer in your video, friend, let me tell you, anyone can create a concept and base, a writer is the one who organizes ideas and distributes them at specific points [ time and place within the narrative]. Nomura is not a writer, people keep making this basic mistake. Concept is not writing, concept is basically brainstorming, or creating ideas that will form the basis of a story. Writing history is one thing, concept is another.
That means nothing ... he is not the writer. If you give me a 5 pages outline with bullet points and some character details and I write a 2000 page script I am still the writer and actual creator of the story.
@@Cetra29 So you think during the entirety of development they only give nojima ideas to hit in the beginning and don't help the structure ever again during the process and it's all just nojima until the end. They don't even proof read or check or help his work ever again?
Out of all the things that we know that are coming and looking forward to, I cannot wait to see what new scenes they add to the game, that are probably gonna have an emotional impact on us as well!😃🥲😢😫😭

@@sammie16508then how would he counter holy?
This kind of explains the seemingly conflicting information we hear from developers at time
I'm looking forward to hearing Cloud's comments/internal dialogue when he puts on the trooper uniform in Junon.
As a huge Kingdom Hearts fan the Nomura slander always really gets to me so thanks for speaking up for him even if you’re not into the series anymore!
Happy to have you on the channel! We are going to be live later for FF7 Remake platinum trophy runs and would love to see you there!
Thanks dude, I most definitely will be making a full effort return to kingdom hearts after rebirth 🙏🏾
I appreciate you commenting!
Is nomura responsible for characters suddenly flying around and chopping apart trains, freeways, and buildings? That stuff is dumb.
Nice pfp
@@ballfondler77 Thanks! it's the official Failroad Awesome Face.
I'm ready to cry manly tears at Dyne and Barret's encounter. Marlene picture shown to Dyne, all of it.
GIVE ME THE PAAAAINNN!
@@TAHOEkaleidonaut oh, yeah, yep, haha.
Most everyone has had a say that I agree with/2nd on OG stuff that’ll be in Rebirth…
So for the ~new~ moment I’m likely going to be emotional with & looking forward to the pain in Rebirth clips we’ve seen so far (in the latest theme song trailer) is Zack’s unrequited dialogue with KO’d Aerith.
In OG Dyne felt like a bad guy and an asshole so I really felt nothing but watching the trailer almost brought me to tears so I guess it's gonna hit really hard
I really respect Nojima-san the most regarding FFVII's depth. He's the one responsible for how it turned out. If not for the depth of the story, we'd just have a mediocre Nomura fever dream like KH, and might even find ourselves lost in Dementor-knockoff outer space with Cait Sith at the wheel. idk
I am wondering what will happen at the end of the cosmo canyon when we find out about red 13s father. If it will be changed or more indepth
Kitase man ...Him even wanting to cut that crucial Barrett scene..... troubling that he thought that at all.
the scene I can't wait to see is when they meet Vincent
I think besides wondering what the hell is up with Zack (and if he’s gonna be playable in any measure) I’m most excited to see the Red XIII scene in Cave of the GI. Always makes me cry!!!
Amazing, do you know when the Demo will be published?
So ready to cry at the dyne scenes and when red sees his father and then laugh at the whole golden saucer stuff.
Who the hell cry’s playing a video game. Get a life.

Wutai is gonna be in the 3rd game, we'll have to wait for it
The game is out next month 🤯
Thank you for not being like the some content creators or other doods... Lol... just throwing Nomura under the bus for alot of stuff. Don't get me wrong stuff like KH is definitely confusing at times. But I also feel like SE kinda debacles stuff like FF15 and ppl just assume its only cause Nomura. Lol heck I seen a comments blaming the hallway aspect of FF13 on him too, when all he did was character designs. So its refreshing to see a leveled headed conversation about him.
I am just happy we get more final fantasy to play and enjoy.
Ppl seek Nomura for issues. Yet... Kitase is the one making most wacky and radical ideas.
Its always been Kitase that wants to change things up or cut things.
I sure hope that scene doesn't happen at the city of the ancients I am not sure if I will be able to handle it specially since its going to be more realistic
I want a nod to abridged in the game 😂
that would be amazing
oh man they are gonna KILL us with the dyne scene
Dyne 1000 percent looks like Bryan Fury 🤣
I know they don’t go as deep as DOC but Vincent’s backstory is pretty sad especially how it is tied to sephiroths biological parents
Is it me or does Dyne sound like the voice actor from the abridged series of FF7?
Are you going to finish the platinum run for ff7 remake?
yes we are back on it tonight!
im excited to see how they do Reds story
I definitely said he looks like Brian fury
it just hit me... Dyne could become a party member of Zack...
Gold saucer
Okay from what I've seen, it looks like dyne will not be jumping. So far the story has been about trying to do better. People that have died, aren't. Many of the people showcased in the ending of remake would have and should have died in the plate fall.
What makes you think dyne won't jump?
@@BltzZ Between the English and Japanese ... Japanese keeps the Yakuza/angry guy persona, a facade of aggression and arrogance. In English despite the same posture, there's doubt... Almost like how dare you break my resolve by letting me know she's still alive.
I also saw another clip where Dyne and Barret are talking, and he hands a picture of Marlene to a very calm, almost crying Dyne. Without the anger and hate, it'd be a lot harder for things to escalate to the point of jumping.
@@Koniving so you think he is not going to jump because they show him being emotional?
kitase and nomura will be responsible for major losses this year. rebirth will be the last installment as this will not sell well. the sales figures, trophy distribution and overall audience appreciation of there incoherent story telling show dimished interest in the franchise.

I'm honestly surprised you want to see more. I don't plan on watching more of your video so I can expirence it for myself. Sometimes more is too much.

I can't wait to see how they portray Sephiroth when he's in the Shinra Mansion basement, discovering his origins
Didn't like that thanks at the end.
