Not that it would have made a significant difference any ways. Given the nature of Kenpachi's shikai and bankai, there's not really any significant difference between the two outside of fanboy logic dictating that one is stronger than the other.
Uhm, well normally a bankai is ten times stronger than a shikai, so yeah, we can assume his bankai is way stronger than his shikai, which could destroy a meteor. Its not fanboy logic, its the manga logic.

Yeah, calling it manga logic would be more accurate in this situation. But outside of the given strength difference, there isn't really any other differences between the shikai and bankai; no new abilities, just cut shit up even more powerful. I know it's harmless, but when you compare it to other bankais that differ significantly from their initial release (Shunsui, Urahara) it comes off as disappointing and not creative, ESPECIALLY since he still ended up losing the last fight.
michael dorsey Yeah, but we're comparing Oni and Kenpachi, even if the Bankai was disappointing in the series what matters in this fight is power. Kenpachi's raw power > Onis raw power. And also saying that there is no new abilities to Kenpachi's Bankai is just a sin if you have read bleach, Yachiru had a Shikai of its own, which created entities of unknown usage. We did not see Kenpachi's Bankai full extent, and that is all thanks to the harsh and forced ending bleach had to endure.

Actually, the music artist that makes the music for these confirmed that the same animator made all three Kenpachi vs Akuma fights likes Akuma. So there was bias, but its a fight with no research, so no one should complain.
Don't matter if research was done or not he just needs to read the chapter and the victor will be clear.
But reading the chapter.....means he's doing some research my dude.
Research is finding out if the attacks can hurt each other, strength, speed, durability and mind-set. By looking at the comics mean that you are looking at how fast/strong the character is, and is therefore research.

ScrewAttack isn't about the animation though. DBX is the only show focused on its animation.
I'll ignore that statement, considering they have some pretty great animators and DBX has horrible animation in a descent number of their videos.
They have other Animators working for them and DBX is a way to get them paid and work on their skills, sure some are bad, but they are still learning.

Zaraki Kenpachi's bankai is the form in which his body becomes completely red with black lines (traditional oni demon) and his massive axe turns into a tiny hand axe (looks like ichigo's shikai broken in half and badly damaged). In that form he can stop a mountain sized enemy's punch with just his teeth, then rip it's massive arm off with said teeth, then chop the mountain sized enemy in half.

However, there comes a point where it should be apparent that having the same general matchup three times in a row, and have the same result each time does not make for good entertainment. All this basically gave us was a demo reel of voice acting with a tired joke about Zoro's horrible sense of direction (... Someone may want to check his family tree for a Ryoga Hibiki, now that I think about it).

Though, based on how a number of fights in past episodes have gone, I'd be willing to outright call bullshit and say they are secretly doing research (The ONLY example I can think of where no research was really done was Dante vs. Ragna). The fact they no longer openly state in the opening sequence also makes one wonder.... Either way, 'no research' is not an excuse for 'no change'. All this really feels like is a misstep for the start of the fourth season of a great series.

@@wooly4648 The character Oni isn't really canon to the actual street fighter lore. He's more of a "What if" scenario of akuma was to fully master the Satsui no hado. So really you can take almost anything as cannon for the character Oni, but not for akuma. So while you can say that hypothetically Oni could be above start level like asura, you couldn't say the same for akuma because in cannon akuma hasn't done anything to prove he is. But since Oni himself isn't cannon, anything he does does do is cannon for that character.
So I'd say Oni is definitely star level, but Akuma, not so much.

Coldarra Nix Old comment, I know, but Kenpachi was able to cleave a meteor in two and that meteor had the kinetic energy capable of ending all of Soul Society. And that was Shikai. Bankai is at least 5 times more powerful than that.

I'm kinda having mixed feelings about this. I mean the fight and animation were all great, but.. that wasn't Kenpachi's bankai. That was his shikai. His bankai is kinda.. insane.

1. If you look closely, Kenpachi’s skin is red, a side effect of his bankai
2. The sword isn’t actually isn’t in Bankai form. His Bankai form sword has a shorter hilt, and part of the blade is Missing.
3. Akuma in his base form is able to punch a moon in half. Not considering by his Shin form is Stronger that that, and the fact that Oni can punch volcanos into erupting, and punch the moon into obliteration with 1-2 punches. Pretty sure Kanpachi doesn’t stand a chance against Oni
Kenpachi obliterated a moon-sized meteor with only one swing. And that was just with his *shikai* .

Problem is this a 16 bit model in an intense fight, they can't even add the horns. Also, there's not much difference between his Shikai and Bankai blade, only that the latter looks serrated/broken, and that's detail they can't add to the model.

Actually, he isn't. Oni just passed out, according to animators, while Kenpachi is killed, since the Raging Demon kills its opponent by destroying his soul. So, Kenpachi is dead, while Oni is just unconscious.

Kenpachi himself is a Soul, so any damage to him is just the same.
Except that the Raging Demon is dealing different type of damage than the one Kenpachi is usually taking. The Raging Demon destroys the opponent's soul and the only way to evade it is to use the Power of Nothingness, to counter with another Raging Demon or to separate the soul from its body, and since Kenpachi is literally a soul, there is no way for him to evade or survive that attack, so the Raging Demon is the perfect way to take him down.
Sadly, Bleach fans won't understand that.

...There's one thing I've noticed. In ALL THREE of the 'Akuma vs Kenpachi' OMMs, Kenpachi is always taken down by one of Akuma's/Oni's Supers, and it's a different one each time. In Akuma vs Kenpachi Part 1, it was the Demon Armageddon. In Part 2, it was the Misogi. And in Part 3, the Wrath of the Raging Demon.

The Raging Demon of the Oni must be the destroying blow that kills anyone without any defense, if Oni hit is defeat in certain,Raging Demon (SHUN GOKU SATSU) And Oni (Akuma) did the Raging Demon without one Arm, it really thrilled me with emotion.
My favorite part about this series of fights is that the dislikes slowly get lower and lower as Bleach fans learn that Akuma really got that dawg in him

You can't do much with these copyright laws floating around unless if companies are allowing their creations to be used as such. The only way I know to make such fighting game is through M.U.G.E.N. engine, which coding for that shit is tiring as fuck.

yep. His Bankai sword probably doesn't have a sprite yet. Hard to manage when most animes these days have switched over to making games all 3d instead of good ol' 2d sprite animation. We're lucky they even gave Oni a proper form here, that's definitely something that was done outside of Capcom.

Asura countered the raging demon twice. Not to mention he fought and killed god. But before that fight he was throwing beams that can destroy planets, threw planets and stars at Asura and survived.So destroying Asura's soul is almost impossible.
Guys...you can survive the raging demon. Asura has done so. Bison has done so. Not to mention Oni wouldn't get much of a chance to use it.
Kenpachi had a feat in shikai where he cut a meteor calculated in scans to be country sized easily. He did so without going all out with his eyepatch.
In bankai his shikai with his eyepatch removed only nicked Gerard's Hope blade and didn't scratch his shield. However in bankai he cut through the shield along with thickened skin and entire body with one arm. That feat is at least small planet/continent level. And that wasn't with both hands, which a two handed swing is dozens of times stronger than his usual swings.
So are you going to tell me that someone who can be beat by a powerful martial artists can defeat someone who can cut continents and rip off the arm of an invincible god like giant with his teeth.

It didn't stop this match up between Kenpachi (swordsman) vs. Oni Akuma (Brawler), and the fight still looked good and the brawler still won three time. Also, there isn't much too similar between the JoJos and Akihiko Sanada outside of punching and they allhave much more in common with, because the JoJos all have secondary powers with their Stands; the Persona 5 protagonist is supposed to be a teenage delinquent who moonlights as a criminal for noble reasons just like the 5th JoJo is. Personally, I think Josuke should fight Yu (though it's likely Jotaro because both are well-liked and iconic protagonists that made pushed the series into the mainstream and having strongly similar character development. While both being apathetic smartasses at the start who cared less about friendship or even leading the charge until they both eventually took over leadership after someone they began to respect was in grave danger; Joseph from being invaded by Lovers and Yukiko who, unlike the others, went missing for a while and had no idea about the Shadows and seeing Chie's devotion to her. These moments also created the iconic lovable bad-asses we know now.
