I think it's a case of mentality. Jack is noting that afro is a murderer Afro is mistakenly assuming that Jack is coming after his headband. This could of course be something like jack needing the headband to return to the future but otherwise this could genuinely be Jack trying to be a hero and Afro doing his normal thing.

Though the final season did demonstrate that if Jack feels he is unworthy for the sword, it will abandon him until Jack is ready for it again. Meaning Jack is susceptible to emotional attacks that would cripple his overall effectiveness (he nearly died to the daughters of Aku).

Thor vs Vegeta The mega man battle Royal Broly vs hulk (ikari) And my favorite is believe it or not: goro vs machamp. That fight music is such a perfect blend of the Pokémon and mortal kombat music styles.
A little late, but your final sentence reminded me of a quote, and I'll paraphrase. The man you want to never anger is the one that wants to be left alone. When you push him too far, he'll never back down, since he's fighting with the anger and ferocity of a man avenging a loved one. He's avenging himself, and avenging the innocence he had before the battle.
Gotta be honest, this is probably the most balanced Death Battle in history. No fancy powers, no high-tech armor or gadgets, nothing. Just two samurai and their swords, a match of skill and skill alone.

3:26 The episodes where Jack was a background character were some of the best. These 6 Mercs all teamed up with the one goal to kill Jack, spent a whole episode plotting their plans together to overwhelm him with teamwork and he brushed it all off in less than a second.

I’m hopping they make it a fair fight with someone on his level, mainly being facts. Samurai jack has more seasons and more episodes than Afro samurai. Therefore, Afro never stood a chance with little content
this is still, to date, my favorite death battle. The animation was so good and I felt like I didn't know right away who was going to win. The fight itself was tense but also drawn back by the very real moment of afro complimenting Jack's jumping. And since neither had any special abilities the fight was short and sweet and was a true homage to both of their skills as swordsmen. I cannot express enough how fantastic this death battle is in my opinion.

As much as I love Jack and Afro, I knew Jack was gonna win. It helps that he has over 50 years of experience and training but also helps that his sword was made by gods. At least Afro had his Afro.

I mean, just look at their final villains. You've got a 3 armed gunslinger who killed Afro's father vs a shred of pure evil from a cosmic horror, ripped asunder by 3 heads of different pantheons of gods, that dropped to earth and became a forest of life sucking trees, given sentience by ancient eastern magics meant to kill it, with the power to tear portals in time and destroy other time portals created by other means.
This is honestly one of the best death battle episodes, it’s got great animation, simple enjoyable fighting, that great “you jump good” moment and a sweet sound track. Just one of my favorites
I would like to see if someone made a death battle fanon between Samurai Jack, and Afro Samurai vs Guts The Black Swordsman, and Kirito the black swordsman.
Actually Jack would remind Afro of his childhood friend, Sousuke, and Jack would just be delighted to meet someone who is well versed in the Bushido Teachings (just like when Jack met the Shaolin Monks in the Future)
Afro lost against Jack because Jack is stronger, faster, tougher, and more versatile. has trouble keeping up with a street lvl robot, Jack destroyed armies of robots that tear through cities, and even one-shotted a giant robot that was causing Earthquakes just by running. Afro could barely block lasers, Jack blocks, dodges, and even parry lasers and light beams from robots, mythical creatures, aliens, and literal gods on a daily basis. Afro was wounded by an rpg and needed help from a lady from his past to recover one time, Jack recovered from a wound inflicted by a half demon in a forest with little resources and even tanked hits from an Eldritch Abomination that enslaved entire planets. Afro only knows Kenjutsu, Jack literally invented Mixed Martial arts in his universe and has even combined them with magic powers. Afro's headbands were revealed to be powerless overhyped strips of cloths as Lady Sio stole the number 1 from Afro without wearing the number 2 and was later killed by a clone of Afro's dad while she was wearing the number 1 while he didn't have the number 2, plus Justice died of old age in the manga while he had the Number 1, contradicting the Immortality statement, while Jack's sword has legit magic powers. Jack stomps Afro hard.
actually, not true about the headbands. You see their powers in the main season and when Afro was beaten, he was not wearing either headband because he wanted to do away with the killing. His entire story is based upon the flaws of revenge. Also, the "clone" had killed afro, making it the rightful #2, so it could challenge the #1 ; dunno about justice/manga
This was an amazing Death Battle, these two were strong in their own right, but we knew that only one of them was gonna come out on top and show everyone who is “Number One”
See, now that’s actually a really interesting question though. Thematically they have very little in common (although Logan _has_ done the whole Samurai thing before), but I’m legitimately curious who would win. Jack’s sword might be one of the few things capable of harming Wolverine, but he’s one tough SOB and they both have superhuman strength and skills. Would be interesting to see how that fight plays out.
Well that's how it work for the 4 seasons. Any battle damage is all fixed up the next episode, but in season 5 any battle damage stay there. He was slowly losing his clothes in the first few episodes.
Technically the creator of samurai jack originally wanted the series to end as a movie being put in the movie theater but the film’s production wasn’t working out he claimed
from the second i saw the ART STYLE and ANIMATION, i knew JACK was gonna win. i also have to say that this is the BEST animation i have ever seen from DEATH BATTLE. i seriously doubt they are going to top this one. excellent stuff.👍🏻
This is so far one of my most favorite episodes of Death Battle. This was a pretty awesome battle I love how the fight was hand drawn. Shame that means the battle had to be short (for good reasons knowing the details that was put in and everything.) Still great episode! Can't wait to see Carnage vs Lucy!
You do know they don't have to kill with their swords, right? Jack went 67 years without spilling the blood of another. Plus when your sword has such a clear scent of blood, that's not a good sign.
Well, in case you didn't know, most swords don't have such a distinct smell, and even less do when they look cleaned. Even if a sword has cut through someone, it wouldn't smell unless you literally held it to your nostrils and took a big whiff, and that's only if it's actually dripping with blood rather than cutting someone and then being washed off before smelling it. Basically, it IS a big surprise. The fact that Jack and Afro can plainly detect such a distinct amount of blood from each other's sword in a clean, polished state proves how much bloodshed they've caused, which is a bad vibe to be sending a fellow samurai/ronin.
@@mrreyes5004 even if you wipe off/clean the blood with water, it's still there. You'll need something called "hydrogen peroxide" to really remove the blood.
I don't think the swords literally smell of blood, I think that's just sort of a metaphor for saying, "I can tell you've killed people." And while I wouldn't expect olive oil, various oils are often used in cleaning swords so I'd expect a well-maintained sword to smell like oil, yeah.
Jack: *looses an arm* Boomstick: Ummm, is he going to get his arm or... Me: No worries, either it will reappear in the next episode or he'll get a sweet full-functioning prosthetic.
While this isn't the best death battle in existence, this definitely is one of or my most favorite among them all. While it's not super flashy or filled with superpowered bouts, that's what I like about this. They're two unique swordsmen having one hell of a duel. Plus that ending of the fight always gives me chills ,the way the music just highlights it even further.
I'm confused about something though, as I've never seen Afro Samurai. If you are wearing the #2, and you kill the guy with the #1, who gets the #2 band?
After all these years, I just noticed Jack's severed arm is backways in the water. His right arm was cut off but the one on the water had a right hand, but left arm.
Legit have seen someone try to argue Jack’s durability as wrong due to “future tech”, which is beyond stupid. For one, Jack did survive the force, especially considering that gear does not mean you don’t suffer any impact. For a noteworthy example, think of a football helmet. When hit with extreme force, the head hits the inside of the helmet with the same amount of force applied with the hit, following basic physics. This also does not account for various other feats, such as contending with beings capable of making explosions that are powerful enough to annihilate multiple city blocks. Jack is also far faster, and any killing restraints of characters are removed. This is why Batman will fight to kill in these fights, despite trying to avoid so in his own comics. Hell, I’ll even add this: this episode is not wrong by it’s logic, especially considering that surface area and accounting for distance from epicenter for the RPG blast severely lowers the yield Afro tanked. Hell, it’s been calculated to account for that, and got below the re-entry feat. Combine that with Jack’s superior speed and training, and it still holds up.

And since neither had any special abilities the fight was short and sweet and was a true homage to both of their skills as swordsmen. I cannot express enough how fantastic this death battle is in my opinion.

As much as I love Jack and Afro, I knew Jack was gonna win. It helps that he has over 50 years of experience and training but also helps that his sword was made by gods. At least Afro had his Afro.
Don't forget that Jack was also carrying a golden gauntlet the size of a statue making his light dodging feat all the more impressive.

This is honestly one of the best death battle episodes, it’s got great animation, simple enjoyable fighting, that great “you jump good” moment and a sweet sound track. Just one of my favorites

Afro could barely block lasers, Jack blocks, dodges, and even parry lasers and light beams from robots, mythical creatures, aliens, and literal gods on a daily basis. Afro was wounded by an rpg and needed help from a lady from his past to recover one time, Jack recovered from a wound inflicted by a half demon in a forest with little resources and even tanked hits from an Eldritch Abomination that enslaved entire planets. Afro only knows Kenjutsu, Jack literally invented Mixed Martial arts in his universe and has even combined them with magic powers. Afro's headbands were revealed to be powerless overhyped strips of cloths as Lady Sio stole the number 1 from Afro without wearing the number 2 and was later killed by a clone of Afro's dad while she was wearing the number 1 while he didn't have the number 2, plus Justice died of old age in the manga while he had the Number 1, contradicting the Immortality statement, while Jack's sword has legit magic powers. Jack stomps Afro hard.
actually, not true about the headbands. You see their powers in the main season and when Afro was beaten, he was not wearing either headband because he wanted to do away with the killing. His entire story is based upon the flaws of revenge. Also, the "clone" had killed afro, making it the rightful #2, so it could challenge the #1 ; dunno about justice/manga
This was an amazing Death Battle, these two were strong in their own right, but we knew that only one of them was gonna come out on top and show everyone who is “Number One”

See, now that’s actually a really interesting question though. Thematically they have very little in common (although Logan _has_ done the whole Samurai thing before), but I’m legitimately curious who would win.
Jack’s sword might be one of the few things capable of harming Wolverine, but he’s one tough SOB and they both have superhuman strength and skills.
Would be interesting to see how that fight plays out.

Well that's how it work for the 4 seasons. Any battle damage is all fixed up the next episode, but in season 5 any battle damage stay there. He was slowly losing his clothes in the first few episodes.

Technically the creator of samurai jack originally wanted the series to end as a movie being put in the movie theater but the film’s production wasn’t working out he claimed
from the second i saw the ART STYLE and ANIMATION, i knew JACK was gonna win. i also have to say that this is the BEST animation i have ever seen from DEATH BATTLE. i seriously doubt they are going to top this one. excellent stuff.👍🏻
This is so far one of my most favorite episodes of Death Battle. This was a pretty awesome battle I love how the fight was hand drawn. Shame that means the battle had to be short (for good reasons knowing the details that was put in and everything.) Still great episode! Can't wait to see Carnage vs Lucy!

You do know they don't have to kill with their swords, right? Jack went 67 years without spilling the blood of another. Plus when your sword has such a clear scent of blood, that's not a good sign.
Well, in case you didn't know, most swords don't have such a distinct smell, and even less do when they look cleaned. Even if a sword has cut through someone, it wouldn't smell unless you literally held it to your nostrils and took a big whiff, and that's only if it's actually dripping with blood rather than cutting someone and then being washed off before smelling it.
Basically, it IS a big surprise. The fact that Jack and Afro can plainly detect such a distinct amount of blood from each other's sword in a clean, polished state proves how much bloodshed they've caused, which is a bad vibe to be sending a fellow samurai/ronin.
@@mrreyes5004 even if you wipe off/clean the blood with water, it's still there. You'll need something called "hydrogen peroxide" to really remove the blood.
I don't think the swords literally smell of blood, I think that's just sort of a metaphor for saying, "I can tell you've killed people."
And while I wouldn't expect olive oil, various oils are often used in cleaning swords so I'd expect a well-maintained sword to smell like oil, yeah.

While this isn't the best death battle in existence, this definitely is one of or my most favorite among them all. While it's not super flashy or filled with superpowered bouts, that's what I like about this. They're two unique swordsmen having one hell of a duel. Plus that ending of the fight always gives me chills ,the way the music just highlights it even further.

Legit have seen someone try to argue Jack’s durability as wrong due to “future tech”, which is beyond stupid. For one, Jack did survive the force, especially considering that gear does not mean you don’t suffer any impact. For a noteworthy example, think of a football helmet. When hit with extreme force, the head hits the inside of the helmet with the same amount of force applied with the hit, following basic physics. This also does not account for various other feats, such as contending with beings capable of making explosions that are powerful enough to annihilate multiple city blocks. Jack is also far faster, and any killing restraints of characters are removed. This is why Batman will fight to kill in these fights, despite trying to avoid so in his own comics. Hell, I’ll even add this: this episode is not wrong by it’s logic, especially considering that surface area and accounting for distance from epicenter for the RPG blast severely lowers the yield Afro tanked. Hell, it’s been calculated to account for that, and got below the re-entry feat. Combine that with Jack’s superior speed and training, and it still holds up.

There’s also the fact that the space suit got almost completely destroyed in the impact anyway, and you can see singes in Jack’s clothes
