  • Why I stopped interlocking my Locs, is a short and sweet video of I explaining Why I stopped interlocking my Locs many years ago.
When it comes to Locs, I am not expert. I have always shared my thoughts, opinions, and experiences on my continuous Loc journey.
Why I stopped interlocking my Locs, is also my last Loc video of 2022. Going forward, I’d like to diversify my content. I hope you’ll stick around to enjoy future content.

Hey Winners! Do you Retwist or Interlock? And why?

One of the things that help in the loc journey if knowing what works what works best for you and your hair and doing exactly that.

Same reason why I stopped interlocking. I have soft textured hair. I didn’t like how it looked. Twisting give me a fuller look after the first week. My locs mature thicker from a twist rather than interlocking.

Started retwist by a professional for years until I watched Yannie and being educated about products in the locs. I wanted the person not to use products while retwist but oil my scalp . Well we ended up parting ways. I continue to watch your vlogs

@Tata 1 I don't retwist any more but allow my locs grow organically and moisturize with aloe vera juice with ginger and peppermint oil

Yesss, I felt the same that interlocking makes the loc compressed, stringy, vs. Plush, plump.

I have microlocs and I interlock because I workout sometimes and it definitely is worth it for my smaller locs. Retwist didn’t last as long for me, like my husband’s traditional loc retwist does with a style.

This makes sense! And yeah, the only time that a retwist lasts long for me, is when I get it styled!

I interlock now, as I've sustained a lot of product build-up from what was used when doing the retwist

I prefer retwist!! Interlocking makes the looks feel hard with the rope affect. Also they take a long time to lock up because there’s no room for the hair to expand and compress. No room to tangle.

This is how I also feel, and I noticed this when I used to interlock my hair.

I'm the same way about my hairline. My hair is fine and soft and grows away from the locs. Also I do interlocking because I feel like the retwist was too much for my hair.

I started interlocking a couple months ago. The perimeter of hair just doesn't tangle together with retwisting. I will legit have 3-4 inches of new growth that just doesn't loc. It was extremely frustrating. Interlocking for me won't be done to consistently like I was with palm rolling because it isn't needed.

I do my own hair. I wash then gently separate. Not too much twisting. It weakens the roots.

I’ve got different textures all over my head ….the perimeter takes forever to loc and grows away from the loc so I interlock a couple of my strands. The rest I retwist.
