      I remember the day my Dad took the training wheels off my bike. Within minutes I was chased by an off-leash Doberman bigger than I was, crashed through a fence, went over a (smallish) cliff, and landed in somebody's beached boat. Even when I was physically able to sit on the bike again, it was a good long while before I wanted to.

It’s infuriating how older people think they can touch you just because they’re the customer. The creepiest is when old men try to touch my waist or try to use the excuse of “my hands are cold”. Regarding engagement bait and Facebook monetization: You can, in fact, monetize your page on facebook to get money for engagement on posts. Often, engagement bait is done to get engagement, then the page with high engagement gets sold to people who post fake products, etc. or who want to start with a large following. If you check on these pages a couple weeks later, chances are it now has a new name and new content.

    “I don’t know where this whole idea came from” (the woman suddenly being attracted to a guy after he verbally assaults her) 23:56 It comes from misogynistic incels who’ve convinced each other that this is what happens. They interpret stories told by their likeminded peers as evidence - but those stories are fabricated or exaggerated, and those guys are heavily influenced by confirmation bias. They also still carry anger about girls in school who only dated the popular boys (which wouldn’t have been the case if the “unpopular” boys would’ve been friendlier to the girls). In the real world, a guy saying those nasty things doesn’t get the girl - he’s lucky if he doesn’t get pepper sprayed.

    • @USSAnimeNCC-
      @USSAnimeNCC- 25 дней назад +6

    • @LilChuunosuke
      @LilChuunosuke 25 дней назад

      A lot of those incels likely also got dating advice from their fathers and grandfathers who got married by following a pretty girl home, knocking on their front door, and asking their fathers for their hand in marriage.
      A lot of those older men likely also beat their wives and are accustomed to their wife placating their anger out of fear for their own safety.
      They lie to themselves and say this is how women like to be treated so they never have to confront the reality of what they've done.

    As an American millennial (last year of millennials but still) ex evangelical, I cannot even fully explain the way in which we were all brainwashed into believing we WOULD be held at gun point or have our lives or our loved ones lives would be threatened in some way if we claimed Jesus - the father choosing god over his family is literally Christian millennial wannabe martyrs wet dream.
    As a PRIMARY SCHOOLER (like I’m talking MAYBE first grade) I remember being told “don’t deny god bc those people will most likely kill you anyway and if you deny god and then die you’ll go to hell. So better to make sure when you die you go to heaven by not denying him”. I think for the gun one, I can understand it so long as you don't have any ammunition. You can have a dozen guns, you can enjoy collecting historical guns, and maintaining them, you can find it therapeutic to take them apart, clean them, restore them, build them, whatever. That's almost the same vibe as people who like building model trains or working on cars. You can even take advantage of the more limited self defence advantage of just visibly having that gun and being able to say you have one. If you like firing the guns, in the same way that some people enjoy archery or axe throwing, go to the range. Keep your bullets at the range, I don't find that to be a problem. The minute you bring the bullets home, and keep them next to your gun? That's premeditation. You're planning a murder. Simple as that.

      yea, you are correct: Jesus just got betrayed by Judas and got arrested, Peter denies knowing Jesus 3x, as was the prophecy he was told before by God himself:
      "Then they seized him and led him away, bringing him into the high priest's house, and Peter was following at a distance. 55 And when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them. 56 Then a servant girl, seeing him as he sat in the light and looking closely at him, said, “This man also was with him.” 57 But he denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.” 58 And a little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.” 59 And after an interval of about an hour still another insisted, saying, “Certainly this man also was with him, for he too is a Galilean.” 60 But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed. 61 And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.” 62 And he went out and wept bitterly."

    My mom took us all to the swimming pool in town (about a 15min drive from the farm) to get swimming lessons when we were kids because we live in an area where you can’t drive ten minutes without seeing a lake or a pond and she was not about to let us wander into one unprepared. It was great, except the pool was cold and I was always a little too lanky of a little kid to float properly. I thought this one teacher (a teen lifeguard who taught the class) was the coolest because she was the first person i met with more than one or two ear piercings 😆 anyway, it was incredibly important that we learned to swim early and also safety around water in general. Not only is it stupidly dangerous to just throw your kids into some random lake and hope they figure swimming out, but it also won’t teach your kids about other stuff to be safe in water. Are you going to teach them how to do cpr on friends or siblings who don’t swim but got in water? Are you going to teach them about different kinds of bodies of water? How you can get swept up in rivers if you’re unprepared and how if it’s too shallow they can hurt themselves? How sometimes there are dangers in the water they can’t see and how to be careful about boats? On and on, at least one of these things would probably not be covered by any average parent, as adults we often forget about things we’ve had to learn because it’s just so ingrained in us now that we don’t think about it, and there are things we couldn’t teach by ourselves. I’ve forgotten most of how to do cpr and it’s possible that what I was taught is a bit out of date. I don’t always know the best ways to explain certain things to kids either, and while I’m not a parent myself, at my age I’m around a lot of people who are. I know there are things I only know because my mom took us to those classes, and that’s WHY she took us to classes. Sure, YOU might have survived being tossed into a lake, but many kids would try to go swimming in situations where it’s dangerous and they don’t realize it, especially if all they were taught was how to not drown after being yeeted into a safe body of water. I know that little me loved swimming and was impulsive, it’s quite possible I would have tried to swim somewhere dangerous while my parents weren’t looking, but I was taught how to be safe. One of my younger brothers actually almost drowned before he was old enough to take lessons because he did EXACTLY THAT in a pool when no one was looking, my other brother who HAD taken classes was able to save him. Once that brother shoved me in a lake fully clothed while our parents weren’t looking, that could have gone far worse without those classes. People have developed these classes for a reason, and it’s much safer to use precautions with kids.

    1. You can monetize your Facebook page. The more engagement you get, the more eligible you are for deals etc.
    2. Scammers looking for victims. Usually images like these are posted with an intentional mistake (I.e, 103th) to lure ignorant older people. The logic is, if they fall for an AI image with a grammar mistake, they’ll fall for a scam

      All 3 are bad arguments.
      Maybe it's another one.
      The kicker is that, purely in theory (not in reality), I'm totally in favour of the idea that citizens should be able to have guns to resist tyranical govts, but denying that that choice directly leads to a significant increase in deaths is just dishonest.

    Complicated point imo.
    There were definitely things that were horribly dangerous, but the 'oversterilised' childhood of today also has many bad effects that we are just discovering. For excample, a long time small study from switzerlnd found that children living in cities with less possibilities for meeting friends to play (without supervision) has measurabe effects on social development.
    I think the real point there is that children should have room outside to play and try themselves out. And that should include doing some dangerous stuff. Because we all do that.
    What should have happened was to make playgrounds etc. more safe while trying to keep the exciting aspects of them.
