Should You Run OTS Tunes On Your Mustang? Stage 1 vs Stage 2 Cobb

  • In this video I go into detail on OTS tunes and discuss if they are safe to run or not. I compare the stage 1 and stage 2 tunes from Cobb. Stage tunes are usually fairly conservative compared to a pro tune however unlike a protune they are not specific to your car. We found out why this is important.

      Hey! Awesome thanks for watching! That’s nice man, brand new with only 3k miles on it! With those mods I would get the Cobb access port and pull the trigger on the pro tune from PD tuning. I think you have to use COBB intake / COBB innercooler for stage 2. Your using cheap drop in filter and different brand innercool which COBB stage 2 IS not designed for or tuned on...

    • @daily_driven
      @daily_driven  3 года назад +1

      That may be. However I’m using a AFE drop in filter that is identical to the Cobb filter plus the AIRAID intake tube which is slightly larger diameter compared to the Cobb intake. This has been proven to be more effective than most aftermarket intakes out there.The intercooler from CVF is great though and it very similar in size to the Cobb unit. So I don’t think that would change anything. I think it more has to do with Cobb tunes are very generic and not specific to “your” car. Since every car is slightly different some may have different experiences with their tunes than others.

    • @dsmubz
      @dsmubz 2 года назад +1

      @@daily_driven that larger diameter intake would throw the tune off as the MAF sensor is calibrated for the specific diameter and air flow of the cobb access system, you are probably running lean and knocking so the ECM is pulling timing to compensate.

      Yeah stage 1 with the drop in filter you should be just fine. Depends if your going catless or not. Full exhaust downpipe intake Intercooler and oil catch can. Then went got it pro tuned with burble. Tuned if for 2 months just about done with the tune being 100% done. Data logs looked good and then started to get misfires on cylinder 3. Oil was getting into the combustion chamber. Keep changing the spark plug. Then shifted from 1st into 2nd gear at 2900 rpm and boom. Piston went through the block. I truly don't think the mods or tune did it. I dogged out the car not gonna lie.
