Not sure if it’s something you’ve considered but have you looked at getting just a cheap beater car as a daily? And keep your Mustang as your weekend/ every once in a while car?
That's exactly what I'm doing. Mustang is the weekend car for the open road, and other is for commuting to-and-from work and driving the family around.
I have definitely considered this, however I don't really want to drive a boring daily, I would rather have one car do it all kind of thing. But it's an option for sure.
@@daily_driven I think you would’ve mitigated any qualms about the low end if you went with the 3.55 rear end ratio. On the build page, you can order it as a à la cart feature.
My previous car was a modified M6 with almost 700ft-lbs of wheel torque at 3000rpms. I do not have torque complaints with the '24 GT, so I can just about guarantee your issue is with the gearing.
Since the car is modified already, if I were you I'd swap to 3.73:1 gears. That will definitely wake it up. If it were still stock, then you'd get a better deal on a trade in. Good luck
Come back to us ecoboosters! The new nx2 is good for 600hp! So much to do with these cars! Not letting go of my eco! Im now in it deep with nuilt bottom end and just added port injection for full e85! Soon to be 500whp!
Beat me to it. I drive 40 miles one way to work. Maybe 60-70% of the is stop and go traffic. I got a 6MT and never felt like I need to go to bed while driving unlike when I drive my AT SUV.
Totally get it. I had a 2019 GT and now a 22 GT that is my daily driver but everything you mentioned is what is making me consider picking up something more practical for daily use. I am not sure if I will keep mine long term but short term I am keeping it as I love Mustangs and the V8 and the new daily I am considering is the Jetta GLI. Take a look at those if you have not done so already. Reasonably priced, good low end torque and a ton of mods available, both performance and visual.
i Would keep it and if you are concerned about the low end power then change the rear end gears to the 3:55 ratio. I ordered my 2024 with Grabber Blue, 401A Package, Nite Pony Package, Performance Package, Recaro Seat option with the 6 speed. With the 3:55 i get plenty of low end power and if I drive the highway i have gotten 23-25 Mpg. In the city i get around 17 Mpg. Like someone else mentioned the V-8's will be going away and having one is you should enjoy it.
Had a 2022 Mach 1and then bought a 2024 Dark Horse. It has had a few issues but so far minor and I love it Grabber Blue like my 2013 Boss 302. I think you should keep it and get a beater for work. You have invested some money for upgrades and you will never get it back.
I had a 21 High Performance 2.3L convertible 10-Speed (Same Engine from the Focus RS) and that car was absolutely amazing. I'd still take it over a new GT.
Whatever you decide, I appreciate your videos for your mustang GT mods up to this point! You've made your car look great. If it were me and I were wanting something more "zippy" instead, the only alternative I would consider would be the Porsche 718 Boxster. Granted, my mustang GT is the premium convertible version and fully loaded, so the price increase wouldn't be much of a stretch, although the main reasons I wouldn't make the switch is 1) to keep a 4-seater because I have small kids, and 2) the GT both looks and sounds so damn good, and V8's are a dying breed. I used to have a BMW 330Ci with the M3 inline 6 engine and it sounded good, but the GT sounds GREAT. And I certainly don't miss those BMW repair costs. Before buying the mustang I also considered a BMW M440i and an Audi S5, but I could only get a used 2022-2023 with 30k miles or so for the same cost as a brand new 2024 mustang GT premium convertible fully loaded with zero miles.
Hey brother I totally understand what you’re saying. I went from a tuned Ecoboost to a stock GT as well. Most common complaint I heard about the GT’s was the long gearing and how dreadful it was if you had a manual transmission. So I exclusively looked for a performance package GT that way I could get the 3.73 gear ratio. The low end torque is still not really there, so I can’t imagine how the guys running the non-PP GTs with the MT82 cope with so little torque down low lol. It’s the number one thing I miss about my Ecoboost. I’ve thought about going E85 as apparently it really wakes the 5.0 up, but I bought an extended warranty when buying my car so I’m not about to prematurely void it. Still got like 2 years of warranty left and I paid quite a bit for it so no way I’m voiding it anytime soon lol. Don’t think there’s any tunes out yet for the S650s and you probably don’t want to void your manufacturer’s warranty either so I feel your pain. I even thought about trading it in for an Integra Type S but changed my mind after a while. At the end of the day, I’m happy with my car. If you’re not happy then that’s okay. Gotta do what’s best for you man. Wish you luck!
Thanks man appreciate this comment! Yeah I agree I think a performance pack would have been a better choice, maybe a little better response with the 3.73 or 3.55 gears. If tuning was available maybe it would change things a bit but I think it’s a long ways off for the s650s. Anyways thanks again man! 👍🙂
This assessment is so on point. I'm having the same second guesses with mine. Thinking of trying the throttle controller, hopefully it gives it that sporty feel I'm missing.
@daily_driven I hope you're doing well man! I'm looking at a supra. Lots of torque from the turbo inline 6, decent MPG, good modification potential, and finally available in a manual. Also I miss the RWD 😅
Yo another question I know u said u modded the eco boost if there is a tune that becomes available for the new ones is it a huge diffrence once u tune them
You listed out the concerns of me going from a Eco to a GT, those reasons and more are stopping me from buying DOHC NA V8, imo, for that low end toruqe you need a pushrod V8 from GM or Dodge or a turbocharged car.
I have a 2022 Veloster N 6MT with a lap3 1.5 ECU tuned on 93 octane I test drove a 24 S650 Nite pony package Active valve exhaust 301A package 6 MT and yea the car sounds amazing.. but the steering is pretty numb and the body roll is terrible of making fast turns So I hear ya.. A quick light turbo car is hard to let go haha 👍
This is wild watching this video because I am in the exact same boat as you, I traded in a MK7 GTI (not even tuned) for the 24 GT, and after a couple of months, I just don't love the car as much as I thought I would, I miss my creature comforts of the GTI like the DCT, 25+ MPG, 4 doors, more space, etc. Call me boring but I love the DCTs of the GTIs, I love my manual in the Mustang but man the sound of the DCTs ripping through gears was so fun. I'm shopping around and plan to pick up a 24 GTI sometime in the coming months, from what I've read, it seems like the MK8.5s will be dropping into the states sometime in the next couple of months, so I am hoping I can leverage that with getting a better deal on a MK8 so I can get an SE or Autobahn and stick with the nice tech upgrades that my Premium GT has. Either way, super dope you went with a GTI, will be watching your series with this for sure!
Really?! That’s crazy I thought I was the only one selling a new GT for a GTI! Im glad im not the only one! Lol 😂 Heck yeah man! The GTIs are just so much fun! That sounds like a good plan! Awesome! 🙂👍
Thanks for this video. I still have my 2018 Ecoboost Performance Pack. I have done some minor mods, Cobb stage 1, and a few Steeda chasis mods. I haven't driven a V8 in over 20 years. I test drove the base GT and I was very underwhelmed. I didn't like the lack of low end torque and that I would have to ring out the engine to enjoy its power. For my daily commute, it would not be as fun as my Ecoboost. It seemed that I would have to go to jail to have fun. Also I really did feel that extra weight and the car was too sluggish. So there was no magic other than the sound. Not the same , but my MBRP cat-back gives me enough sound when I'm having fun. Perhaps I should have tested a performance pack as these entries are really sweet GT cars. The tires and suspension really make a difference. However, we are talking about a very different price point.
Yeah i agree! I think it really depends what roads each car is being driven on most. City driving / back roads, ecoboost has it. Longer open roads you can ring out GT and feel the top end performance it has. Both are fun for sure but I agree that low end torque is what I miss as well 👍
If you end up selling it, would you consider selling the parts and selling it stock? I would love to buy the chin splitter and the lowering Springs from you if possible. And if you can sign the parts that would be awesome. Also, the GR Corolla would be a fun car to zip around in go to work and back home.
Definitely man! If I do sell I will be selling some parts off it for sure. Not sure if I would take the springs out, because that's a lot of work lol. But I'll have other parts for sale.
Nice video Tyler! Got rid of my 2024 Audi RS3 because the low end torque and turbo lag was so annoying for a daily. I look forward to what you end up getting next! ;)
I’ve had mine for a year pretty much and I’ve thought about selling mine as well. Agree with the low end torque especially since I came from a bolt on 2002 Trans Am and man those LS1’s had a nice sound and were torquey even if they aren’t as modern or fast. Plus the way I had it modified it was on rails on turns. Still plan to keep it a bit longer and see if I sell and maybe go back to an F-Body again since that’s what I grew up with.
Gotcha! Yeah since posting this video I’ve heard from quite a few people that feel similar to what I’m feeling with the car. Either way it’s a awesome car but Yeahh that low end torque is what I miss ha
Actually can I ask all of you, my ecoboost has 10,000 miles and they had to replace the front rotors, brakes and resurface back rotors. Are the brakes not good enough on these ecoboosts or is this a rare issue? Luckily they covered under warranty but now I'm afraid to drive my car fast because I don't want to have to buy new brakes anytime soon.
I’m sorry to hear your thinking this way. I love your mustang content and will miss it. But I do understand. As much as we pay for our cars we have to love them to make it worth paying 1,000 plus a month for a car payment. Just hope you get something that will bring the excitement back
Oh WOW!!!! this does come as surprise. But it happens, people change to different vehicles all the time. I went from a camaro to a stang and I have loved them since. If you do sell her , it will be missed by all the Stang people, but you have to drive what you are happy with. We car peeps are different breed , so I am sure what you choose will be a great choice for you. Take it easy .
I recently bought my S650 Mustang GT in March of this year and I love it. Everything you mentioned I understand 100 percent, I too felt weird when ai noticed I wasn't launching faster at a red light than some soccer mom Suvs 😅. It's definitely a heavy car, I switch from Sport Mode to Normal and feel a difference for sure. After breaking 3K Miles it feels more loose and it takes off quicker now, I'm satisfied to be honest, your car is sick, the color is beautiful. I've been watching all your upgrades and think we still have so much more to go. One thing that helped me to quickly forget about launching fast was just how much I love the look of our car, it's so sick and it turns heads. I say keep going but definitely understand your point of view.... Turn it into the car you want, you're already 10K + for a bank lended car ? That is if you financed it, like I did. Go hard or go home, stang gang 😊 either way good luck on your choice, your content has been cool, everything happens for a reason.
Thanks for this comment!! Congrats on the car man! I agree with you, these cars are beautiful! Makes my decision 10x harder lol! I think for me it just comes down to the roads in my area and ultimately what I prefer in a driving experience. Either way we spend enough on these cars, we gotta love em lol 👍 Have a good one man!
Try a throttle booster ie pedal commander or equivalent. Should give better throttle sensitivity without having to mash the gas pedal to the floor from a stop.
@@daily_driven That would be an interesting video. I just ordered a 25 Mustang 2 weeks ago and a pedal commander was an item on my list to possibly purchase down the road if needed. I have used them on all my vehicles the last 5 years (20 Camry TRD and currently a 22 Golf R) and I can say that depending on the particular vehicles pedal delay issues they have made an amazing difference. My wife also would not drive her 22 GLI or now 24 Audi A3 without one now that she has experienced the difference they have made for her driving experience.
I get it, I have a 20 minute highway drive to work, no city driving, so it’s easy for me to just cruise there. If we could only get more people to work from home 😂
To me, it's pretty obvious that you are checked out of the Mustang. Hope you enjoy the next ride. But i was only here for Mustang content, so I'm checking out as well.
Tesla Model 3 performance is a good option! I own a Tesla, twin turbo, and V8. Tesla lacks personality on an ICE car. However, Tesla is a great daily driver.
I can guarantee whatever you are thinking of getting wont match the fun of a boosted coyote. Cars like that aren’t about “ needing “ the power. No one needs the 480 HP it comes with. Boost it and don’t look back. I’m on the out skirts of ATL. Let me know if you want to ride in my boosted S550.
Unfortunately tuning isn’t available for these yet so dynoing the car would only give me the info of how much power the car is making. But tuning in the future would definitely help I’m sure
Oh yeah understandable stoplight to stoplight with my gt I drive more chill than I did with my previous vehicle… whereas I have more fun with this car on the highway. So yeah if you don’t frequent a freeway or highway in your daily driving or stuck in traffic…what you’re feeling makes sense. Idk why the salty-ish comments don’t get it. Looking forward to your supra, integra type S, golf gti or whatever lol.
Thanks for the comment! Yeah I have fun with the mustang when I can really open it up but it’s kinda hard to do in the area I live / commute too. Thanks man I will have a video soon on what’s happening next! 🙂👍
bro no offense but i dont know what you talking about i own a ecoboost and test drove the gt its almost better in every aspect. And i am pretty sure if you go back to ecoboost again you will be bored soon. I will say get a vet or a some german car like m4 if you want to have fun with some daily commutes
My comparison is more so my tuned eco on e30, just as far as the torque came in hard at low RPMs. The GT needs to be revved out to feel the torque as it makes most of its power on the top end. Thats all I’m getting at. The GT is a blast to drive for sure! Stock Eco isn’t close lol
Meanwhile I’m in the eco boost stage and I already have that feeling of getting the GT. I wanna pay down my eco and trade up for a GT. Even tho I’m realizing it’s a modern sports car it doesn’t feel fast it’s got the speed and power. I want a GT regardless and build it up but it’s a similar feeling. But how much??? 😆
looks like you are moving to some import car, maybe Japanese like Subaru or something like that. I personally remain loyal to the American muscle cars of the Detroit era and today basically the Mustang is the only one left. Sad!
Exactly what we're gonna comment because thats what u said u wanted yo do to the car. Now u don't want a Whipple. Make up your mind and stop complaining about the car. 😅
Not trying to complain about the car! It’s a great car! My situation has changed a bit, that’s all. Whipple would be cool but I think that would push the car way further away from daily driver status lol
No offense but don't get an eco. Just because it gives you the fuel economy and just tricks you into thinking it's fast bc of the turbo. You are talking about 2 different cars and it is not worth it to down grade. I have a DH with 11000k and it's supercharged. The car drives stock with the supercharger on it and I've gotten 17-20 mpg in the city if I don't gun it. And I get the same ok the highway but that's because I gun it lol. If it's a payment issue then I get it. But just mod the gt and you'll get comfortable daily, it drives smooth with the 10 speed and doesn’t gear hunt, drives normal until you gun it, and gets good mpg as long as you not gunning it everywhere. At some point you gotta stretch your legs lol and take a new challenge. You are growing your channel that means changing up the content. You have done everything you to do to an eco. Time to move on and take a new challenge and grow the challenge more... gotta get out your comfort zone. But if it's not financial related to sell the gt. Just upgrade it
Oh no I wouldn’t be getting another ecoboost. You’re right, I’ve done that already! Ha I get where you’re coming from but driving the mustang in stop and go traffic everyday does seem like a waste lol. It’s a fun car to open up but where I live I’ve kind of realized that I think I prefer something smaller, lighter and something that does everything well since it’s my daily. Definitely something I can modify and have fun with! Nothing against the mustang though, it’s a beast on the top end and I think if I wasn’t driving in traffic all the time and had longer stretches of road to have fun with it I would be more into it ha. Lots of twisty roads here 👍
@daily_driven are you gonna stay domestic or go foreign? I think you would like the supra or one of the new sports cars that Toyota is planning on making. Or you can try and RS3. I don't think you will find a great balance between a drivers car stick wise and it being nice in stop and go traffic.
I’ve thought about this a lot, and of course I do not want to let anyone down here on RUclips. I love the mustang and may keep it, but if I don’t we will still have lots of great content modding the next car! 👍
@@daily_driven yeah! Great car, I had the manual transmission for the fun factor but at some point it was suiting my daily needs. So I swapped for a more fun and affordable daily
I know exactly what you mean 💯 I love my ecoboost it always puts a smile on my face everytime i drive it and definitely love the low end torque. I'm planning on getting an active Exhaust soon sure it won't have that gt rumble but it will add a nice tone never the less. Im also planning on getting some other mods done Street intercooler, wastegate 10psi , lowered springs , pro tune etc.. should drive like a beast. Do whatever brings you joy man 👍
I went from a Eco to a GT I’m not going back lol
Haha awesome! 👍
i went from a 2022 charger Gt (v6) to a mustang GT and im not going back either
@@GloomToonsame here ext charger to mustang gt
Throw a set of 355 gears in. It will wake it up down low. You will take a big loss on a trade in.
The hint is in the GT. They really are a touring vehicle and were never meant to be be a nimble daily city commuter.
Very true!
Not sure if it’s something you’ve considered but have you looked at getting just a cheap beater car as a daily? And keep your Mustang as your weekend/ every once in a while car?

@@daily_driven sounds good just let me know! And thanks for considering it.
Hey man I have a set of brand new steeda sport progressive springs that I am looking to sell. I will hook up up! Let me know.
@@oHypBasto How much and where are you shipping them from? I’m in Virginia.
When I sold my 24 gt back to the dealership they wanted the stock exhaust back on from the corsa extreme
Nice video Tyler! Got rid of my 2024 Audi RS3 because the low end torque and turbo lag was so annoying for a daily. I look forward to what you end up getting next! ;)
Or swap out your gears to 3.55s. I'm NA E85 with 3.55s.. lots of low end grunt
Just hope you get something that will bring the excitement back
Thank you!! I totally agree, us car enthusiasts have to love the cars we are in or if you like me, i just feel “off” haha. Thanks for the support! 🙂👍
Oh WOW!!!! this does come as surprise.
Thanks Angel! Yeah I figured it might take some people by surprise. I always appreciate your support! Have a good one man! 🙂
hi guys, i have a 2022 Ecoboost with only 9k miles on it, i use 93 octane and best mpg i get is 17.5mpg, i only drive in the city, is that mpg normal?
You need a B58.
I have an ecoboost and a 5.0 with 3.55 gears. I am curious as to what your alternative car is.
I'll have a video out soon on this. Stay tuned ha
@@daily_drivenhow about the upcoming 2025 GR Corolla? they’re adding an automatic to it
Try a throttle booster ie pedal commander or equivalent. Should give better throttle sensitivity without having to mash the gas pedal to the floor from a stop.
I was definitely thinking about this actually! Never tried one in the past but maybe that would help
That's a good commute! haha mine could be worse for sure but still a lot of traffic everyday. I agree! Work from home was great! haha
I never got more than 17mpgs on my s650 and the AC never worked
To me, it's pretty obvious that you are checked out of the Mustang. Hope you enjoy the next ride. But i was only here for Mustang content, so I'm checking out as well.
Thanks man! Totally understand, have a good one! 🙂👍
I'm out too
Put 355 gears that all give work
Tork
Did you finance it?
The S550 low-end torque-Ecoboost community will definitely welcome you back, if you decide to come back! : D
LOL
Haha! Well thank you! Might be going a little different route though. Video coming soon!
Keep it up bro !!!
Such a hard decision man! Ha
I feel like if you get it dynoed, you could change the low end torque issue.
Unfortunately tuning isn’t available for these yet so dynoing the car would only give me the info of how much power the car is making. But tuning in the future would definitely help I’m sure
@@daily_driven I was told the ECU’s were unlocked a couple months ago. Are you sure?
@@NoahVansellI could be wrong but i think only a few companies got that privilege
Go for an M240i RWD. Punchy down low and makes more real power than the GT.
Z51 C8 great daily love mine
Good.
Looking car definitely should have been a manual transmission in my opinion.
I love my eco but i haven’t unlocked my power yet bc is stock it only has a cold air intake and bov so i really want to know what you mean 😢
You will love it when you tune it! Whole different car to be honest
@@daily_driven i don’t want it to go ecoboom do you have any recommendations!!
If you’re looking for a cvfab downpipe for ur eco let me know brotha!
@@daily_driven yeah i did fbo on my eco and my engine blew up but i like top end so different story for me
Get a Dark Horse or a performance pack. Your opinion will change
you bought the wrong GT for your actual requirments. I own a Eco and A Six speed 373 rear end GT and its got it all buddy.
I bet Audi RS3 is his choice 😉 Great car with even better engine. The only problem here is the price.
That would be fun! Lol might be a little to pricey for me though 😂
S550 gt👀
👀
Yep, its a Mustang ! 5.0 It. is what it is....
Viable opinions. My take your looking for a sporty car, Mustang is more of a muscle car.
You need dark horse
looks like you are moving to some import car, maybe Japanese like Subaru or something like that. I personally remain loyal to the American muscle cars of the Detroit era and today basically the Mustang is the only one left. Sad!
Just wait for it to be tuneable your gonna easily get it up to 500 torque 😂
Sheeshh ima support still 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Man I appreciate that a ton!! Thank you!
Civic Type R
Exactly what we're gonna comment because thats what u said u wanted yo do to the car. Now u don't want a Whipple. Make up your mind and stop complaining about the car. 😅
Not trying to complain about the car! It’s a great car! My situation has changed a bit, that’s all. Whipple would be cool but I think that would push the car way further away from daily driver status lol
Blah blah blah blah blah blah
Go onnnnn… 🤔🫣
Pretty easy to guess…a gtr lol. No one sells that kind of car and doesn’t get a r35
Lol! I wish I had GTR money ha
You ain’t seen traffic until u live in DC area
Yeahh I’m sure it’s bad lol! I’ve been there once but didn’t drive in it.
I have a stock 23 ecoboost. I'll trade you straight across. 😂
Hahaha! 😂
LOL
Get a Gr86
Are you factoring in the number of subscribers you will probably lose by bailing on the Mustang?
I’ve thought about this a lot, and of course I do not want to let anyone down here on RUclips. I love the mustang and may keep it, but if I don’t we will still have lots of great content modding the next car! 👍
Get you a Dodge Charger R/T
Nissan 400Z

Lol Let’s trade I got the same color just in the eco boost form
Haha! Good choice on color lol. Hey if the new ecoboosts could be tuned… 🤔😂
@@daily_driven im just waiting for them to release one hopefully they could soon but torn in between trading in future for the gt
Don’t trade in for a stinger 😂
Haha no not a stinger lol 😂
nah Astro is family now you are stuck with him lol
Yeah very very hard decision for sure!
I sold mine for an Elantra N. The nimble handling and torque makes it a great swap
Nice! did you have a 24 GT?
@@daily_driven yeah! Great car, I had the manual transmission for the fun factor but at some point it was suiting my daily needs. So I swapped for a more fun and affordable daily
I know exactly what you mean 💯
I love my ecoboost it always puts a smile on my face everytime i drive it and definitely love the low end torque.
I'm planning on getting an active Exhaust soon sure it won't have that gt rumble but it will add a nice tone never the less.
Im also planning on getting some other mods done
Street intercooler, wastegate 10psi , lowered springs , pro tune etc.. should drive like a beast.
Do whatever brings you joy man 👍
GT 10 times better lol
