Really nice of you to mention Allyn’s passing…he was everything you said…a beautiful human with an incredible craft he passionately shared with all!! Thank you,Alex for all you give as well!!
Alyn's passing is really a great loss to the world. He had such a passion for what he did. He'll be sorely missed. Nice of you to dedicate the video episode to him.
I didn't know until watching this video about Alyn's passing. I remember finding his videos about a year ago and listening to his story about his life and getting into astrophotography. It really resonated with me because at that point I was also dealing with personal issues of my own and even though I've always been interested in astronomy and photography, I never really jumped deep into the hobby. After watching his videos I really tried, and still trying, to step up my astrophotography game. I am still in shock.
Great test, thanks for sharing! I should seriously consider getting a Nomad. So portable. Any 14er videos in the making again also? Love watching you progress through that project 👌
Great video Alex. I still have the 2nd gen MSM, which your videos from way back when helped me getting set up. This one for the nomad is also good, and I appreciate you setting expectations, the MSM has never really been suited (or designed) for longer focal lengths. Lovely tribute to Alyn. I suspect many wide-angle astrophotographers were inspired and taught by his videos and tutorials on nightscapes. Myself included.
Nice of you to dedicate this video to Alyn. His passing is such a loss You’ve got me stumped. Is that the EF 200mm lens? I believe that it’s been discontinued.

I learned so much from his videos.

I was shocked when I learned about it too.
Let's honor his life by enjoying the stars 🌟
@@chasingluminance ... Agreed !!

For sure

The 14ers have been slow this year... dumb life has had so much going on.
I think I might go for an adventure later this week
@@chasingluminance looking forward to that!

Thanks for the comment!
Very useful information. Thank you. I used Alyn’s z wedge for my first Milky Way panorama couple of weeks ago. Everything went great.
Glad to hear it!
I would be interested to know what the total weight was for you heaviest lens and what the success rate was for that set up.
Rest in peace 🙏🏾 Return to the stars friend

Has it? That would be sad... it's such a great compact astro lens
@@chasingluminance
But not RF.
Correct, it's the ef and I adapt it
Are the Nomad batteries Lithium? Can they be replaced - consumer standard?
Thank you for the great review, Alex!
Do you happen to know if the NOMAD is expected to be on Amazon anytime soon?
I'm not sure...I should ask.
For now it's just avaliable through their website
Thanks for the prompt response. If you do ask and hear back from them, please reply back here.
Thank you for this, I have the Sony A7C with the Tamron 70-180 and was wondering if it would handle it. And after watching this video I think it will!
I think it will too
How often do you find the MSM has to be charged? Can you get through 4-6 hours of shooting or a full night before you need to charge it?
Depends on the temps.
4-6 hours probably
All night no.
But it can run off of a battery pack
@@chasingluminance Thank you.
Hi, which aperture did you use on Olympus 7-14mm? Thx.
F4
Lots of data analysis 🧐
I told you my videos aren't interesting
They are interesting, iam embarrassed to disturb making of that
Ha
❤️🩹
Is that a bandage?
@@chasingluminance not sure where that came from but im keeping it. I think I picked the bandaged heart emoji and RUclips turned it into that...
