thank you so much for your video, in the end, thanks to your considerations, I bought the sigma 50mm 1.4 for my r5 and I'm thrilled with it!! thanks for your help...
Thank you for the information on the 50mm 1.4 art and AF performance. I am also considering the 40mm sigma 1.4 It is supposed to be sharper that both the 50 and 35 and less CA in high contrast scenes. But I do not know if the 40 is good for portrait over 50mm or it AF is as good. decisions, decisions..
I am debating between Sigma 24-70 with EOSR adapter vs Canon RF 24 - 70 for Canon R5C. How comparable is Sigma to RF? I am hearing that autofocus may not work in Video mode in Canon R5C?
Hello. I know you took your time focusing. How was the speed and in focus hit rate? Like walking towards camera. Do you have a video compared to canon ef lenses?
Thanks for this video. I have the 35mm with an R6 barrel, everything works fine except that the shutter makes a different noise than with my RF lenses. I also noticed that I can't do a fast burst with the mechanical shutter, there is a burst but it's slower... With the electronic shutter there are no problems. I have other sigma lenses (135 and 100-400) and haven't seen this problem. Is this normal? Is it simply due to the fact that the 35mm dates from 2012?
Is the Sigma 35mm f1.4 for crop sensor canon's? I read that somewhere? Like will it act as an EF-S lens on my RP and work only in Crop Mode? I want this lens but not if it's going to become a 56mm equivalent only :/
These photos are A+!!! Very Nice 😊. I’m enjoying because My Dad was a Photographer!!! He loved it. Growing up I was his main one to practice his photo shots 😊
Thank you for the great video. Did you use mechanical, electronic or first curtain shutter? Did you use eye detection or one point? I‘m new to the R6 and have the Sigma 35 and 85 f1.4s, besides many other Canon EF lenses. I like the results with all my EF lenses though I‘m quite underwhelmed with my RF 35 f1.8 and especially the RF 24-105 F4 L. But they produce good results for video, at least.
When shooting flash/sports always use Mechanical but for setting up your camera use this video it makes portraits easy!... ruclips.net/video/fWpuF6tGVTc/видео.html&ab_channel=MichaelTheMaven
How do you get rid of the rings on photos when using the Sigma Art 35m 1.4 with the R5? I know I had this issue with my old DSLR but I cannot recall how to remove it for the life of me.
is it true that the sigma 35mm f1.4 EF the AF is only used within the area of approximately 80% of the height and 80% of the width of the sensor surface ? As R5 and R6 are 100% Height and 100% width, there is this 20% Of AF area ? Nice video mate, great quality pic and workflow !
It was interesting to see, but why is your model's positioning in the frame completely wrong? Look at the golden ratio rule. To be honest, the incorrect positioning is very noticeable.
What are you shooting on? Sigma or Canon?
R6 with 10 Canon, Sigma and Tamron EF lenses. Added recently Canon RF 35 f1.8 and 24-105 F4 L
R6 & 6Dii with 35mm 1.4 (Tamron) 85mm 1.4L IS 70-200mm 2.8L iii but the real magic comes from the AD600s & AD200s (Lighting Is King).
R5 with Sigma Art 35 1.4 and canon RF 50 1.8
Canon! Don't like how sigma render the skin...
R5 user here. Just scooped up Sigma 50 1.4 art and damn the IQ and sharpness is beyond great. No need to spend the extra money for the RF version.
Thank you Damien for the helpful and informative comparison video! Good luck and keep creating!

I cant wait for native SIGMA RF Lenses..
I just bought this lens for my R6. Can’t wait to start shooting with it.

Thanks mate, relevant information for many of us still shooting with Canon or Sigma EF lenses.

Exactly what i was looking for, thank you!!
Was an adapted used for the sigma & r5 ?

Great video as always dude. How did you create the animations at 1:50?
It's a plugin for final cut. Check the link in the decsription. It's called mcallouts :)

mechanical, eye detection... I think that usually gives me the best results!
@@damiencooper here the same! thank you!
@@damiencooper Don't you notice shuttershock slightly blurs between 1/60 and 1/250? I tend to use EFCS at these speeds.
LOLOL that intro was hilarious!!
yeah, I am a one take wonder... NOT
Hey! Do we need to use a Ef-EOS R adapter for Sigma lenses?
Yes
Me gustaría que probarás y nos dieras tú opinión con el RF 100mm 2.8 macro. gracias

Disable lens correction

I wish this video was brighter
Nice one man. Gotta love the Sigma lenses. I really need to use the R5 for photo's more.
I was pleasantly surprised
BRO..................BOOOOOM. VERY NICE :-)
great tips on portrait photography!
awesome
love from Pro Editing Looks
thanks so much! greetings back ;)
Looks like it was a fun shoot! As a photographer, how do you keep track of time during a shoot and know when to take a break/let the model have one?
No breaks :D
I usually start right before the sun starts setting and finish right after. So the entire shoot takes 3h max
@@damiencooper I was exhausted after a 2 hour shoot the other day lol. Maybe has to do with the sun still being very strong here.
Nice photos also fw yo shoes 💪🏿
When you said you didn't like the Canon 50mm f1.2, did you mean the RF or EF version?
Oh, EF of course. Should’ve made that clear
@@damiencooper It was clear. Noone could blame the 50 mm RF - best lens i've ever used!
@@leviathomas I would have been surprised if he meant the RF version but just wanted to make sure 😁
@@leviathomashow was the sharpness on rf 50 mm 1.2 i love this focal length but i have heard 85 1.2 is sharper am using r6 mkii
That 50 is on my camera often !
My R6 that is
Very nice with the Truck in the background 🤦♂️
Taki naćpany był jak buty ubierał że jeden z jednego kompletu drugi z drugiego ubrał :):):)
颜色调的真棒,不过竟然舍得把相机和镜头放地下!!!不能忍受!
Interesting
👍🏾🆙
Disagree. Canon RF 50 1.2 is the sharpest lens I’ve ever used. And I have 5 sigma art lenses.
He was talking about the EF version.
Can i cut in 1000 pieces her shoes? It gets me nuts....i called them lazy shoes
Haha, I feel you ;)
