Great to see stars when they actually became celebrities for being brilliant at what they did.

It was a different time, a different way of thinking, and it can't be looked at now and be judged. In his time he was cutting edge humor and very much beloved by many. It doesn't come across very good in this appearance he goes too far. But he's old then and stuck in a different time, way before even when this aired long ago. The Marx brothers as a whole made some VERY funny, sometimes crazily absured movies that were big hits. Groucho went on to have a successful career on TV afterwards. And he was much in demand as a guest on shows after his shows were over. Accepted all over the world back then. It was a different time and must be understood in that context. Regardless NO banning of Groucho!

Groucho got a little senile (for lack of a better word) in his last years, and it threw off his sense of comedy. He really doesn't think he's pushing the edge here, he just thinks he is being funny. It was a bad appearance, and there were other bad ones near the end. He probably should have retired from public appearances by this point. I love the Marx Brothers, and I admire Groucho for his work. He was a good TV presence for many years. But by the early 70's, he was just a little off his game, and it made him sound pervy and nutty instead of funny. It's not his fault; we all get old and lose touch. But it was time to stop.

What is really great about watching these Dick Cavett interviews is the memories they bring back!!! His guests are people I grew up watching on TV and the movies! In these interviews they are still young enough that I remember them as they were when I was a kid. To a degree they are part of what I am today! To see them talking and interacting as real people instead of a character is strange but a good strange! Unfortunately many are now gone.
    Many thanks for these!

Is this channel ever going to show Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason and/or Art Carney? I don’t have the Decades channel.

have nothing against the other celebs that were on this show but is this channel ever going to show the Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason or Art Carney? How about any Honeymooners actors that were part of the main cast? These are rarities much like the other videos around here.
