What about the cable cast on. Would it work? Also did you just use the gather cast off?

What yarn did you use and is it variegated or did you change colors for each row.
It is a variegated yarn, and I got it at Walmart. That is all I know about it. As for the cast on, I just use the regular ewrap cast on. I don't really like it, but it works.
If u knit every stitch as u knit u will not have the ladder effect
