Dragon Ball GT Soundtrack - Living Under A Tyrant - (Clean Rip) - (No Sound Effects) v2

- My second attempt at making a clean rip of the full version of the track that plays in episodes 3, 15, 40 and 55 of the Tokunaga score of Dragon Ball GT, most notably when Piccolo sacrifices himself at the end of the Baby saga.
Background:
Yo what's up guys, been a while. I've been busy with work and other stuff over the last few months, haven't really been able to work on rips during this period but I was able find some time recently. I made a rip of this track nearly two years ago • Dragon Ball GT Soundtr... but I figured that I would return to it now that better software is available, and to be honest I was never satisfied with that attempt as if anything it sounds worse than if I had left it untouched. In the time since my last upload I've come across a number of new programs for removing vocals from music, which led me to coming up with the idea of redoing this track. This may lead to me returning to more of my older rips in the future.
Now the only part of this rip that needed significant work was 0:52-1:13, everything else was already clean. I used Ultimate Vocal Remover to get rid of much of the reverb present, though due to the way that the vocals were set up in stereo form I had to split the audio down into mono and edit each channel separately as this seemed to work better for the AI. I edited most of the remaining vocals out in ISSE, before reassembling the two channels back into stereo form in Audacity. I also used the noise removal tool to polish the entire track. Overall, this attempt is much better than my 2020 version and now actually sounds like a real track. Hope you enjoy folks 😉

See ya in the otherworld, Akira Toriyama.
Thank you for permanently changing the world around you filling it with goodness and strength.
Rest in peace.
"Gohan! Can you hear me?"
"...Is that you, Piccolo?"
"Yes it's me, I'm still here. I have a bit of a situation on my hands."
"Don't tell me you're still on Earth; the last ship already took off!"
"Yes, I know. I was helping someone out when it left."
"What?! Call my dad! He can come and get you!"
"Your dad's out of energy, Gohan. I could call Lord Kai, but I decided to ride this one out. The Black Star Balls are too dangerous; look what they're doing to the Earth. If I die, they'll turn to stone, and this will never happen again."
"I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE!!"
"It's okay, Gohan; I know now that it was meant to be this way. Sometimes, we have to look beyond what we want and do what's best..."
"But, Piccolo..."
(Gohan cries)
"Come now, it's alright. This is the path that I've chosen...let's talk about something else, like how you've matured. You've become a truly great warrior, Gohan; and yet, you've remained humble. You've shown me that power is nothing if not guided by love, and watching you grow has helped me grow, Gohan. That's why I'm here."
(Piccolo looks at his blood-soaked hand as the heat from Earth's instability intensifies, ready to explode)
"It's begun...! Goodbye, my friend..."
In the wake of Toriyama’s passing, Tokunaga himself for the first time in 28 years since GT actually spoke a little about his time working on it.
Perfect. Tokunaga has such a genius sense of melody.
piccolo... your memory will live on...
por fin alguien que adapta esta canción como salio en la serie, dios mios todos TODOS le cortaban la mejor parte y saltaba al final de la melodia
Mil gracias, y hasta siempre, Akira Sensei.
I'm a composer and I just wanted to say, thank you for these. GT is one of the first things that made me ever really want to learn how to write music because of its soundtrack, and honestly it's easy to see its influence; I use a LOT of leitmotif, repeat many melodies like the GT soundtrack, etc (that's not exclusive to this soundtrack, but it's a great example of using themes throughout an entire series).
GT is an absolutely beautiful show overall despite its flaws. Somehow, despite being a corporate ploy to continue milking dragon ball after the manga ended, GT somehow has just as much heart and emotion as Toriyama's works; and then once you get to the final episode, it wraps things up and brings emotion that I'd be shocked if Toriyama could even pull off
Again, thank you. It's lovely hearing songs from my childhood, that got me into my career, so clearly and in good audio as you've made them. Your work editing these doesn't go unnoticed, I hope you get more views. :)
You know what, comments like these are exactly what I made these videos for, thank you for being so humble. Nostalgia for a lot of these tracks is a very common theme that I see in the comments of my videos, which I believe is a wonderful thing to see. You've also hit the nail on the head for what I think of GT also. Though the show is not spectacular, it's got plenty of heart which does deserve some merit. This is of course thanks in part to an inspiring soundtrack from Akihito Tokunaga.
I hope that your own adventures into making music bode well for you :) Your comment is very appreciated.
Lo stesso vale per me...👋

*explota todo alv :'v*
GT haters when I make them listen to the most heavenly dragon ball track
Yeah, this rip sounds a lot cleaner than the first. On another note, I like how you describe your whole process in the description. It's always an interesting read to learn what goes into cleaning up audio.
Thanks
S-señor Piccolo.... SEÑOR PICCOLOOOOOOOOOOO D''''’''':

goodbye Toriyama
After so many years, someone has finally uploaded the entire track and not just the harpsichord beginning. I thank you, my guy.
It's sad that Piccolo's life had to end like this after spending years defending Earth from threats, but somehow I still prefer his minor role in GT where he still put his two cents than him getting his ass handed to him like the rest of the Z-Fighters, in fact, the one time he tried to fight a main villain he got instantly one-shot by Baby.
Goodbye, my friend.
... *GOHAAAA-*
always love hearing more clean rips from you
Finally, i was looking this for so long, thank you so much. I always found almost complete versions of this soundtrack but some of them were not well polished, but you my guy has made the impossible possible.
Now that i have listened the full thing, i still can't deny, it's a soundtrack that hurts my both heart and soul, no matter how much mature along my path i become, no matter how many difficult moments i forget, when i listen to Piccolo's sacrifice theme i always will cry.
DEP grande maestro akira 😪
Muchas gracias

Thing is, this is all non-canon, as Piccolo lives in Super.
Piccolo too weak in GT
