    Broke 1 of the 4 arms on the VTX mount of my flylens 85 by (I think) powerlooping into concrete lol. The plastic cracked around the M2 threaded insert. • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Месяц назад

      I have found some are better than others, but I also found a method that works better for me. I put my finger in the battery slot and the twist lock is on the knuckle of the finger. Knuckle being the outside/backside of the finger. Then I press it on and focus the pressure right on my knuckle and twist. Using the knuckle seems to push the lock part a touch further down and allows turning much easier without feeling like I am tearing the mount apart.

    I'd get the Wasp version...Don't care about 4K. I think people have forgotten how great the image quality is on the Wasp. Super clear for flying FPV! Lighter than 03 and way cheaper!
    Nick, try using your Nano Tech 300 mah favorites for RIPPING! Just imagine how much lighter the flight weight will be! As you know, "It's all about weight with whoops!"
    I bet you'll still get adequate flight time with the 300mah because it's soooo much lighter, especially with the Wasp camera. Worth a try, because a RIPPER doesn't care too much about flight time.
    I've found Flywoo always recommends very large and heavy batteries, catering to NEWBIES who seem to always be "Hung Up" on flight time. We know that's the wrong way to go to get a drone to fly great!!!
    Thanks for the review! My 2" 85mm whoop with naked Vista and Nebula Pro Nano comes in at only 60g, so the manufacturers can do a MUCH BETTER job of reducing weight! Oh well, always better to build our own. 😁👍

    Hi Nick, I have a question, my budget allows me to buy hdzero goggles, antennas, webleed batteries and hdzero mobula 6 eco, but for the same price I can buy dji goggles 2 or integra, but I don’t know about a drone yet, here It's just that in Montreal there is essentially nowhere to fly, there is one big red zone, so freestyle is not available to me. In general, the question is: is it worth taking hdzero goggles and then just buying an external module from walksnail or buying dji goggles and a drone like the geprc lr40 right away? And in your opinion what is more fun to fly?

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  Месяц назад +1

      My opinion is pretty biased. I think whoops are far more fun than a long range quad. Long range quads aren't designed to do much other than the obviously flat exploratory flight, and they need a fair bit of space to explorer or I would think it gets pretty old. I would hope you can fly a whoop in far more places near you and inside, parking garages etc. The cost side is really hard to evaluate. If the most important flight factor is image quality and penetration, DJI would be the logical choice. If the most important factor is flight performance and latency then HDzero/analog would be the likely choice. Walksnail is an option somewhere in the middle of those two but doesn't compete on the latency with HDZero/Analog.

    • @Strelinc
      @Strelinc Месяц назад

      @@NickBurnsFPVThank you very much, Nick! At the first I was thinking about buying a long range drone to fly somewhere near mountains, then I realised that I'll use then all my budget for one flight per 1-2 months.
      After I lost my Nazgul (freestyle), I wanted to buy another freestyle drone, but I moved to Montreal and suddenly I didn't find any spots to fly. Here is pretty high charge for flying in "red zones" without permission and specific licence, but here is a whole city is a red zone, so I could fly only in country side. But again I may could to get out only 1-2 times per month and this is not fun. Of course I can make some content once a month on freestyle with dji o3 on it or using long range, but all other time i'll keep sitting without flying. So I checked if its possible to take a tiny whoop on the streets/parks and it seems like I have a lot of nice spots with out that much people out there. Besides, this is still Canada, we have really bad weather sometimes (usually) and only one way how to keep this hobby rolliing is to fly inside. But in other hand, not everyone could enjoy raw dvr from hdzero, if I'll start posting something. Anyway, first of all it's must be fun for me)

      @@Strelincthe fun factor of tiny whoops is hard to beat. I bought into HDzero after trying to go small with the 03 (naked fly lens 85) and still think it’s the best decision I’ve made in this hobby. The 03 and DJI are great but once you get under 3.5” you will notice it’s short comings. I basically only run HDzero now and have everything from 65mm-5”. 3.5 and up I run an action cam so dvr doesn’t matter. On my 03 5” I still run an action cam.

    • @Strelinc
      @Strelinc Месяц назад

      @mwhizzler476 I really appreciate that. But the thing is that in Quebec, I need to register my drone and get several licenses. And with an action camera, it will be more than 250 grams. It's like, yeah, of course I can fly somewhere far from the city, but it's not fun. Obtaining the licenses is not that hard tho. Anyway, I am still waiting for mobula6 hdzero (2024, eco) be in stock.

      @@Strelinc gotcha, yea tough call. If you want to do 3.5” freestyle sub 250g with 4k. 03 is hard to beat. Could always go HDzero and look into walksnail VRX and run WS off HDzero goggles. Get the whoop now and have fun and if you want to get some 4k footage on a bigger build use that.

      I am still here. I just haven't had any new products to post reviews about. I don't tend to find reasons to post or go outside of the micro fpv space. Videos should be coming soon though.

    Hey Nick! Thanks for the new video on this new version. You mention that some pros say that you can`t sell footage from the O3 and that the mininum standard is GoPro footage but that`s just GoPro fanboys being close-minded and being DJI haters. They don`t want people with O3 cinewhoops to steal their business, lol! I know several people that DO sell their O3 footage directly to clients. Nothing wrong with that footage at all. It looks great. I`m an O3 user myself.
    And for the redesigned low position camera mount, as far as I can tell, I believe it`s to counter the propensity for the lens assembly to pop out of the rubber grommets after a crash, which a lot of Flylens 85 and 75 users have been complaining about, as you probably already know. The lens unit now protrudes far less out of top of the mount, unlike the previous version. Cheers!

      Good to know that pros are selling O3 footage. That isn't something I have been hearing or heard about. That's kind of obvious after my video :) Thank you for providing that information.

    Horrible design in terms of inviting damage if landing in a puddle. Industry making mistake going with this inverted prop lawnmower design IMO.

      Brushless motors are water proof/resistant. Its the electronics we need to worry about getting wet and shorted. With most quads in the top battery mount position the AIO or the vtx (now) would likely be the first get wet and damaged. I have heard the O3 is pretty hardy but don't know about it surviving in water cases
