I beat my flylens85 and it still works great. It is one of my favorite frames. It is already minimal but still gives good crash protection and safety flying around people. Flywoo had a fabulous Christmas sale last year when I bought it. I am expecting they will have another good sale at Christmas this year that I will definitely be checking out.
@@bantyFPV I don't recall how much it was off, 15% I think, but they also gave you a free Christmas themed frame kit that sweetened the deal. That's why you might see some red flylens85 around.
Nick, I purchased the Flylins 85 after your review, no regrets I love it, and I did fly it with the 1000-man battery, but prefer the 750. I have crashed it a lot without much damage, mostly props. The camera is holding up well, think the TPU around it makes a big difference.
Interesting quad. Also, interesting how the 03 antenna are in-line with one another and not perpendicular...🤔 As always, most excellent video Nick...👍🏻🍻👊🏻
Hi Nick, great review, thanks! I ordered the Flytimes frame directly when it came out and build a light quad with slightly smaller motors than the ones from Flywoo. And for a (very) short time it was really fun to fly. Unfortunately, on my second or third pack, I overlooked a little bit of scraggle and the quad fell from a height of approx. 3m. I was even more unlucky as it hit a small paved trail (everywhere else was grass). In addition to a bend aluminum arm extension on my quad also the frame broke at the motor screw holes. I don't think the prop guard of a Flylens 75/85 would even have broken but at least the frame would have been fine, I'm sure. So I also have to agree with you and Flywoo: the Flytimes is really designed more for careful cinematic flying and you have to be quite gentle with it. I'm now waiting for a Flylens frame kit to transfer everything over...
Exactly with the HVs. Also, running multi-cell packs too low will fry them quicker. I'm working my current batch of 2S HVs at 4.2v max, 3.6v min recovering to about 3.8-ish. I get 3 minutes flight time on a Mobula8. I'm pushing well over 600 cycles on 'em and they're still quite flyable.
I have been trimming my ducts on fractal builds for awhile now, and found you need about 1/3 of them to protect the motor shafts/objects from crashing you outright, and have hoped someone would produce a frame with a simple square like this, though with borders that are at least as thick as the props tip height. I would love to see something similar done with a nice flexible plastic, because that metal seems sure to bend in any serious crash.
Fantastic flying and review, Nick!!! 😃 Really interesting quad indeed! But I think I'd be afraid to break the motor protector thingy... Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Wasn't sure about this when I first saw it. It's different for sure. Having the Flylens 85 I'm good, still like to see new gear that aside. Good point about the bending parts. Thanks for the review and as always, awesome rip!
Hi Nick, Great video and review of the Flytimes 85. I liked everything, but one thing I don't care for inverted motors, I break props when I land. Otherwise I like it, Thanks again for the video and info on these quad.
The GNB 550 you showed is dependable, I bought a good 15 of them for the mob8 O3 last year (11/23) and now only showing degradation for the past few months. Was getting around 4 to 4.5 mins on the mob 8, now about 1.5 to 3 mins from a mob 8 ws, flylens 85, flytimes 85, flylens 75 etc. Bought the same batteries again couple weeks ago to compare and getting about 4.5 to 5 mins again on the fresh batteries, same quads. I've always charged them to 4.35 and fly pretty much every single night. Was pretty surprised you said that about hv batteries I think they're better now. Betafpv lava 550 batteries are my favorite now, getting about 6 mins on flytimes 85.
Love it so far besides the issues with installing the O3, missing Instructions, wrong 3D Design on their Website and support not answering are definitely a con. But yes, it rips for one Minute with the 550mah Flywoo Packs. I think Avan Micros are a much better fit and tuning it down to be a cinematic Quad makes it more to what it's good at. It can freestyle and do Cinematic but both at the same time is not really a good setup for this one.
Flywoo support not answering? Thats a new one for me 😅 Had a doa (vtx had some issues) 5in one 12a board and after sending some footage they just sent a new one. They didnt want the damaged one back. They even said to disable the vtx (soldering) and use it for a hd build or external analog vtx.

Thank you very much for the information and review of the drone, I like this flytimes but I do not trust the electronics of the brand, that f405 is actually a 512kb model and not 1mb, they always put less expensive chips, greetings and more videos that I like your content
Pretty sure I'd lose the aluminum bits and tpu guards and just run it open prop.. imagine the first decent crash is taking it out anyway... Looks cool though, and i'm sure solves a certain problem...
@ i meant i wont charge them to 4.35v (high voltage), ill just stop at 4.2v. Also i think youre being a little cautious, 4.2v is fine as long as theyre not sitting fully charged for like weeks
@Jacob0481 idk i always feel a slight puff if left overnight but your probably right i probably am lol and I guess I misread your post lol 4.2 on a 4.3 is fine your just loosing a tiny bit of fly time for longevity of the pack
There really hasn't been to many whoops that come with walksnail....to my recollection. There might just be one the meteor75 or the meteor75 pro. for inside I suspect the meteor75 would be the bettery choice, smaller props and easier to control inside.
What would be different than the naked O3 version I reviewed? The weight will be slightly less so it will have slightly more flight time and performance, and with a different video system the image as well as the penetration of the signal will be different.
@@NickBurnsFPV pretty much what you said! the differences in flight characteristics & video quality/pen. For walksnail users its the smallest 4k option that is easily compatible with gyroflow - I've been using the 1s walksnail board with gyro data from bb but its not very good. I guess I would just be interested in your thoughts! Of course I understand its a lot of work, but we love your vids nick :)
for the packet rate? No, but that isn't really relevant for review as that is an ELRS setting we can change on our own if we want that. I don't fly over 500hz, and use pretty much only 250mhz.
@iCrazy414 well I thought it was too small for the walksnail 1s lite kit so most likely yes I would say it's probably too small. But if you're wanting it for actual cinewhoop stuff it should be fine I was just wanting more of a freestyle build that I could fly in closer proximity to people and not really worry about it.
the prop guards bending on the props is the main reason i decided not to invest in there and i wanted to ask for a while man, is there a way you could show us range testings of the quads ?

Flip the props, flip the electronics and fly it props up. 😂

Just got my flylens o3 lite last month. I love it.

Now you gotta weigh them in all their configurations. I think the flytimes without the aluminum extenders and tpu ring is the way to go.

I would 3d print the aluminum bits to save some weight and so it doesn't bend or end up breaking the carbon.
Could you do a review on the new Armattan Nutria frame?
They need to make a Flyleaf 85 that mulches all your leaves in fall.
lol. yea, I would appreciate that for sure. Or the darn lawn service to come

Does this quad come with the dji o3 I Looked at both links and It looks like a kit which means I have to assemble it myself right ?
The o3 lite version page as an option to add your own or to buy with the lite/naked O3, the one with the O3 is $399
The link for this quad are kinda glitchy I was looking at it for Christmas for my first quad and I also noticed get fpv doesn’t have it
Flytimes85 hd better for home cinematic. House fly thru?
probably because of the lower weight
@NickBurnsFPV ok thanks. I def want one.

Sorry no range testing. Flying beyond visual line of site isn't legally allowed.
How come all these DIY woop type drones have 2 times less flying time that DJI Neo. What exactly is going on ? Props, motors, esc ?
Neo is likely mostly battery weight. I believe the neo is also far less capable of faster or aerobatic flight.
I love flywoo but their FCs are really expensive
So who plays the piano?
All three kids did for some amount of time. They have all switched to other instruments
How is flying flextimes 85 without prop protection??
don't know yet. I did take the flytimes85 prop protection off, rain today maybe in the coming days I can fly it again.
