It’s a good wheel, but having used it and the Neo, it’s not even a competition, the Neo completely crushes it at a similar price. The simhub compatibility of the Neo alone makes it worth it.
it is none of those things. I have owned it for almost a year. simple - absolutely not. The only way to access the Quick Release (which comes loose very easily over time), is to open the wheel up (see a video on @Kireth's channel). Doing so will void warranty btw. sturdy / strong - this thing creaks like crazy, and the QR will easily come loose. After 10 months, my upshift paddle has started to wear as well and sometimes misses shifts. Also, the cord it came with broke in 8 months.
The GT Neo is a significantly better product at this price point from the looks of it. Here is my experience with the KS. I have submitted three support tickets due to issues with my wheel. They didn't even respond to the third. Important to note though, I have a 20NM wheelbase, so if you have a weaker wheel base you may not see these issues as severely. - The QR comes loose over time, and you can't fix it yourself without voiding your warranty. - If you use the universal hub, the wire is cheap and will not hold a connection after a few months, requiring you to buy a new one (they are cheap thankfully) - The wheel will creak like mad over time, especially when doing endurance races - my upshift paddle is wiggly and doesn't always shift. I don't see screws to tighten it. While the wheel gets the job done (when it works), I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy at this price point. As I said, the GT Neo was built much smarter (easy access to the QR, better wired connection, sturdier material, 7 way funky switches... everything about it is better).
The wheel is great but my only nitpicks are: 1. Wish the grips were a bit thicker and spongier 2. Moza Hub requires 2 USB ports: one data, one for power. GT Neo has a better/cheaper solution 3. A couple of the rotary dials randomly switch on their own (only in Assetto Corsa) so it’s likely a software issue
So glad I saw this. I've experienced it in LMU and couldn't tell if it was the SIM or the wheel. I suspect it happens on strong vibrations. I increased smoothing for the curbs and haven't experienced it since.
i only reason i got the simagic gt neo over the ks is the look. i like the looks of the fake forged carbon fiber over the normal carbon fiber. also the paddles shifters on the simagic are like smoother then my moza cs v2 wheel
@@OCRacing Hi OC. But you can only steer so far in each direction with your hands fixed. This is what worries me about using them. Do you use Linearity ? Thnx.
What wheel combo would be a great choice for some chill sim racing, nothing competitive, just for some fun and not to expensive, all help is appreciated thx

Hey. I’m getting interested in buying a sim setup yet I’m facing a problem. My budget is 500$ and I thought of getting a fanatec csl dd bundle and a shifter for 500$ but do u think it will be better to get a Logitech g923 on Amazon for 300$ and buy a rig instead?
Except that the GT Neo blows this out of the water. MagLink is far easier to use, cheaper and uses less cables than universal box. KS telemetry features are hit and miss with various games. Quality is also way better and has more buttons. And this is before even mentioning Simhub compatibility...
Im a bit late but the mclaren gt3 wheel looks cool to me and i love the shifters i have a moza base so is it worth it. it would cost around the same as ks and is the usb thing that big of a hastle
Watched Boosted Media vid about the GT Neo and now this one. I'm gonna upgrade to DD this year after upgrading to alumrig next month and I'm still on the fence on what to buy. I feel like its gonna be a MOZA R9 and the GT NEO.. Seems like the quality of the GT NEO is better for only a little bit more money.
@@glenndjenkins Not made a choice yet, just build my simlab rig yesterday, upgrade dd will be at the end of the year I think. But these comments on my post say enough already on whats the better choice.
I have a question I am planning to purchase a Moza R5 bundle, Later I would like to possibly purchase an additional wheel like the GT wheel in the video. Should I take into account certain wheels are not compatible with the R5 or are all wheels compatible on any Moza base regardless of your force-feedback
Hey Tom, good question. All moza wheels will be compatible with all moza wheelbases. If you do end up purchasing and this video was any help to you, feel free to use my affiliate links found here: www.ocsimracing.com/discount-codes It’ll tell Moza that I helped you out at zero extra cost and help me keep making these videos. @@justyouraveragepeiceoftoas1988 at some point you’ll probably ending up wanting the 3 extra nm so you might as well bite the bullet once. As far as a rig I built mine out of extra scrap wood so you can get creative there. If money is the true issue then go with the 9 but I’d say you’ll eventually probably want the 12.
@OCRacing all good! Very excited for the review. Interested to know what the changes are that Microsoft asked for compared to the review units from 9 months ago.
Sorry, not related to the video, but I do have a question. ATM, I use a Moza H-Patern shifter, and it's loud as F. Before my partner files to a divorce (or worse, I feel the need to buy a Thrustmaster Shifter), do you reckon if the Fanatec Shifter is quieter? All my gear (beside the shifter) is Fanatec anyways. Sequential mode is also a plus for Rally racing Thanks
Ooh great quesiton. Two things: 1 - yes the Fanatec shifter can be quieter. The noise it makes will depend on how much force you want it to require to shift gears. At a lighter setting, it won't make as much noise compared to it's hardest. 2 - I wouldn't be surprised if there were 3rd party mods to dampen the noise of the Moza shifter. If you like the shifting feel of it, it may be worth it to look into that as a much cheaper solution.
@@OCRacing Yeah, I tried my best to find a mod with no luck. The rubber pads don't change anything, as the noise comes from the bearings inside. Thanks for the reply. =]
If you have the budget for it, Fanatec makes the best gear for PS5 - granted your options are fairly limited. Keep in mind you would be looking at the Fanatec GT DD Pro or the ClubSport DD Plus.

Sorry, but abnormal isn't the right word, unless you're baiting me. xD But as a KS owner, I have only one complaint; that the center dial has a small chance to turn itself but not physically.
