  • Best Braids for Heatless Curls or Waves
    I'm doing more experimenting with heatless curls using overnight braids. Today, I put three braids to the test: fishtail braid, French braid, and rope twist braid. I dampened each section before braiding and then slept overnight to really set the braids in place. Which braid is your favorite for heatless curls or heatless waves?

    Milana, coming from somebody who actually has naturally curly hair, I think the rope twists created the most natural look but the French braid created the kind of curls that all of us girls with natural curls wish we had. LOL BTW I'm totally stealing your hair next time I go to the salon! It's gorgeous!

    • @halimam4583
      @halimam4583 3 года назад

      My opinion: french braids waves look more like natural waves while dutch braids waves dont look natural and give me no volume at all

    • @halimam4583
      @halimam4583 3 года назад +3

      But if you want overnight waves without dutch of french braiding: flip your head over. Dampen your hair. Seperate your hair in 3 sections and braid each section while your head is flipped over. Now twist the three braided sections in one bun on top of your head. Sleep in them and you wake up with Beautiful waves with lots of more volume than french or dutch.

    I've been sleeping in braids most of my life (less often now). I find that a Dutch Braid, more than a French Braid makes the prettiest beachy waves. Rope braids cane make the curls too tiny, kinky, & frizzy to me. And Fishbone Braids are my least favorite - at best they crimp my hair but that usually falls out leaving it mostly straight.

    Yessssssss, Milana is BACK! I’ve missed your short hair. 😉 I’ve braided my hair for years and then I found twisting. I air dry my hair to about 90% and grab all my hair on top and twist and twist and twist until it’s a twisted “bun” on top of my head and just put a soft band to keep in place. The next morning, I’ll gently let it down and just gently comb through with my fingers a tiny bit of jojoba oil and those curls will last me about three days. I love it and my hair has thanked me for it by not falling out as much.xxx

    Me, too, rope twist for my prediction because it looked like the waves would be bigger. Yeah, that would be interesting to compare results from mousse versus water. I think it was water. Maybe it's because I'm a lot older than you but I don't look good with disorganized, tight curls. I enjoy watching you do it though because I never know what I'm going to learn from you. Thanks for all your hard work. 👍🏼💜

    My go to heatless hair curls (which because my hair is so THICK they turn into waves) are putting my hair up in a pony and using foam curlers. It great because the hair is in a pony tail you dont need nearly as many curlers in your hair compared to without a ponytail;)

    Can’t believe you made this video! Last week I did french braids on wet, just-washed hair of your same texture, just a *bit* longer. I used Lottabody straight from the bottle, just poured it into my cupped palm, then distrubuted it through my hair, then did the french braids, maybe four of them altogether. It was morning, so I put a 50s tied-bandana over my braids, went outside, and when my hair was dry, finger-combed through and- 🤣😂 ha ha looked like the Bride of Frankenstein!!!, and it was crunchy. Next time, fewer braids, MUCH less (and diluted) Lottabody 🤞... did result in great body though, for days! Can you do pin curls some time? (Not into heat styling.) Thank you: love your work 😍

    I have that water mister and unless I add a drop of lavender oil, the water ends up smelling like 'old hose water', even after just a couple of days. Love the mister though!

    As someone with naturally curly hair I'd have to say the rope twist results look the most similar to my natural texture.

    Thank you for this! My hair is really thin and fine, and blonde, and I dislike using products xD sooo I only knew French braids, but I'm gonna RUclips the two others and learn something, and who knows maybe finally have decent hair xD

    Milana, I think the french braid looked better if you want more volume but for more of a natural look the rope was better. Those two were my favorites. How long did it take you to get used to braiding your own hair? My hair is SO thick and it is a bit longer than yours. It comes down slightly past my shoulders. I have two young children (8 and 6) so I always put my hair in a pony tail to get it out of my face but I want to start doing more with it. I also can't curl my own hair with a flat iron (the mirror throws me off).

    Question!! Your braid looks so neat and amazing, I feel like I always pull too many extra strands when I'm adding hair into my dutch braid, and it looks extremely shabby. Do you have any solution for that?? I really want my braids to look like yours.. and unfortunately I've got black hair with Hints of dark brown so I don't think anyone can really make out which braid I'm wearing. I feel like it's so much more evident when you have lighter hair .

    • @renrensiren112
      @renrensiren112 5 лет назад +2

      I think what contributes to her braids looking neat on this length of hair is because she has no layers and her hair is all one length so she isn't getting any random short hairs that stick out and with the braids just be conscious of your section sizes make sure your grabbing even sections

    • @ruchathepearl
