Nice clean presentation! Thanks!. A tip I figured out: If you add &"M " after the last closed parenthesis, the result will display the resulting number with an 'M', if you then add a comma ampersand and write the same code for days as you explained and type &"d" then the result will be a tidy 2m 20d for example. I use this all the time.
1/1/23 to 2/1/23 + =DATEDIF(B1,C1,"M")&"m "&DATEDIF(B1,C1,"d")&"d" = 1m 31d
Very helpful. Thanks !

Datedif formula is not working in my 2016 professional Plus ms Excel why?
It's only for versions earlier than 2016
if you click the function help after typing the first parenthesis then it tells you this in the help screen
Warning: Excel provides the DATEDIF function in order to support older workbooks from Lotus 1-2-3. The DATEDIF function may calculate incorrect results under certain scenarios. Please see the known issues section of this article for further details.
Will this also work if the dates I have in the spreadsheet have the time zone listed or does it have to be removed first? I have a spreadsheet where I'm trying to calculate between a start time and submission time and the date that includes the time zone.
Sir this is a great video... But i am facing a problem in this formula... One my customer is with me from 42 months but in years it's showing 3 years instead of 3.5 years
Formula can be found in excel sheet. But no one tells how to enter date in date column. 11/3/24 does not work and neither 11-MAR-2024 and neither 2024/03/11. Formula returns error. Missed the most critical info in the video.
m/d/y
All the date formats you mentioned are valid. If you are entering them directly into the formula, then they must be within quotation marks, e.g. _=DATEDIF("2024/03/11","2024/07/09","d")_
I get an error after entering the first date,
My problem is, there are some blanks in between. Any solution?
what to do if it did give me "value " ?
Not working 😢
Very helpful, thanks very much!
