@turolretar all the best ones are just getting started. :) I had no idea that my there would ever be anywhere close to here and it's a long way to their there but some of it sounds like things I can do. That's pretty cool with me. I like to scramble around and try to keep up with these guys, Chet and Jerry, and a few others. I can't keep up but I'm getting further from embarrassing myself every day. Some local VFWs are about to find out ;)
Great cover. We now can understand what an amazing guitar player Jerry Reed was. Wrote many tunes that Chet recorded and many other artists as Richard/Tommy.
There comes a time when words alone cannot express the joy, wonder and amazement of two of best guitar players on earth displaying their skill on a complicated, layered and intricate piece that the late Jerry Reed wrote. They make it look easy and have fun doing it. Just sit back and enjoy.
In his song "Nashville Cats" John Sebastian mentioned that the guitar pickers could 'pick more notes than the number of ants on a Tennessee ant hill'. Here ya go...lol
Jerry reed, one of the most underrated and under appreciated guitarists ever! Tommy and Richard are fingerpicking monsters! I would love to see these two guys just sitting around hamming it up and having fun!
I like that I can hear Chet's version in Tommy's own interpretation. Hope to catch Richard's 2023 US tour! Love your take on this & on Struttin", among them all!
Yeah, I once was at one of Doc Watson's last concerts with a young guy playing second guitar. When the second guy took a lead I couldn't wondering what that must have felt like: holy s**t, my rhythm guitar backup is Doc freakin WATSON.
I'm stunned at how these guys replicate Chet and Jerry. Richard Smith is absolutely amazing. Tommy goes a bit more improv and adds his own twist but superb. Its so good to see them continuing the legacy.
I was actually thinking how much trouble this seemed to give him. These guys can make a guitar do whatever they want. They both seemed just slightly off their game here. I am of course talking machine tolerance because who they are. Still fantastic though
@@WoodworkingforAnyone I agree they’re both better players than they are showcased in this video but this is still something that 90% of people couldn’t do and something I work towards everyday
I love that, although Tommy's solo was different, there was a tribute to when Chet Atkins played it with Jerry Reed and Chet did the 'sweep picking' which Tommy also used in his solo. I'm aware Tommy can pretty much play anything but I think that part was intended to honour Chet :)
Keep practicing guys. You'll get there one day 😊
LOL! That's funny!😂
@@42lookc ;)
The key is keeping “there” vague

Saw both Tommy and Richard in Dallas a few months back and hands down the best show I've been to. Unbelievable.
In his song "Nashville Cats" John Sebastian mentioned that the guitar pickers could 'pick more notes than the number of ants on a Tennessee ant hill'. Here ya go...lol
I love John Sebastian and the Lovin' Spoonful
Nashville Cats was written about Danny Gatton! Sebastian tells the story on RUclips!
Dayum! These guys are so good they can't be human...
Two guitar masters playing another guitar masters masterpiece.. Amazing playing as always. !

delicious!!!thank you!i m trying to learn the base of that song!!!and your recipe is...delicious,again!!!
How have I missed this video...Wonderful. I like this version as much as the more famous one with Jerry and Chet.
Man, these guys play it faster than the original chet and Jerry version. This is a tough song. Those are some seriously impressive skills.
Wonderful!
Real musicians never get old!
It's just awesome, guys! You made me smile! You made my day! )))
I like that I can hear Chet's version in Tommy's own interpretation. Hope to catch Richard's 2023 US tour! Love your take on this & on Struttin", among them all!
I witnessed a warmup performance of this song up close backstage at their Dallas show last November. A day I will never forget.
I love how much they enjoy and respect each other
You know you’re doing something bonkers when Tommy Emanuel is playing rhythm bass for you..
Yeah, I once was at one of Doc Watson's last concerts with a young guy playing second guitar. When the second guy took a lead I couldn't wondering what that must have felt like: holy s**t, my rhythm guitar backup is Doc freakin WATSON.
It would appear that Richard's and Tommy's guitar lessons are going VERY well. Stick with it chaps, you could be great players one day. Holy s**t.

It doesn`t get better than this . Two of the best guitarplayers in the world playing together . I am absolutely a BIG fan 😄👌🤩
You guys have such fun! :-)
The only two legends who can't and won't out do one another!! Simply amazing!
...Then you've *got* to see Chet and Jerry doing it live!! ruclips.net/video/Ni8KBhnebwE/видео.html&start_radio=1
Half these comments don’t understand how easy he really makes that nylon look to play he fr played so effortlessly and precisely

Is it hard to play jerry’s breakdown on nylon?
@@야-l8z it’s generally considered hard to play jerry’s breakdown I would say

Now that’s some real pickin! Amazing talents by both .
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone do sweeps on an acoustic guitar before. Actually crazy.
Wow! You guys are legend..I hope I could be as good as you..
This has the feel of Tommy and Phil ❤❤❤
My god that was so good Richard is slicker than you know what and Tommy is always a powerhouse
Very nice rendition. For whatever reason, many play this too fast. Your tempo is perfect. Great picking.
These two are amazing.
one word...effortless.
If anyone ever gets better than Tommy or Richard let me know
I think when Brooks Robertson is their age, he will be.
Matteo Mancuso
Check out Martin Tallstrom's version of this tune. Absolutely insane.
Josho Stefan
Jerry reed? Glen campbell? Both pretty close i think
Insane skills
Sweet Diggety. Thank you for this !!
Totally Awesome! 🎶🎸🎸
Shows just how good Jerry was. And another CGP playing Jerry tune. This is a tough one to play but for these two not so much. Great job gentlemen.
Superb!
So Good to call you my Friends! We might get better if we practice some more!

¡¡Vaya par de fenómenos!!👏👏👏👏
I swore I saw smoke coming off those strings 😂😂😂❤.
Damn - I've broken the like button
My idea of 'world music'. A Brit and an Aussie covering the Alabama Wildman like nobody else. Love it!
Stupid statement.
I must be called jerrys breakdown because i had a breakdown trying to play it
So freaking good.
Excuse me while I retrieve my jaw from the floor!
Two Greats saluting another Great! That's great! 🙂
Tommys like a stoner tryin not to laugh too much, lol. Love it. I laugh out loud all the time watchin Richard. Therapeutic.
I just love it! 🎉
Stellar!
Masters!
Gonna try and learn this... wish me luck
There's a lot of Django in Richard. Impressed by him. Even Tommy is clapping at the end
Hey Tommy please do something with Justin Johnson
Jerry Reed is smiling somewhere right now.
Joy!

Always loved Tommy - a genius. But have been a HUGE fan of Smith for a long time. God bless'em both for keepin' it alive.
К музыке претензий нет , но , Ричард , ну блин и рубашка! А вообще то , спасибо , ребята!
Yeah!!!!
Jerry Reed Approved 😀👍
Imposible superar
How do they pick so fast and keep it clean...??
After watching this I have determined I just got a defective guitar because certainly I should be able to play like these guys, right?!
❤
You could see Tommy choming at the bit to get going

The Edge just burned all of his guitars.
Thumb picking masters
Tommy is a 3 pc rhythm section

Im gitn slower in my old age pickn. In my prime i could never hit that many notes in that short of time. Correctly.
But...but...jimmy hendrix is the guitarist to have ever played a guitar....hehe
Joe Robinson
Great cover. Ridiculous technique man
I’m not a fan of this style , it’s like a person who talks too fast
타미보다 리차드 스미스가 훨씬 잘 친다
Any chance you can slow that down? I'm missing one note. 😂
