    Love your videos, Sam!

    Love this. It's very easy to follow and works like a charm. Question though, when I go to print, the Bing Map raster is so dark my text is very difficult to read. The Contrast and Brightness tools are grayed out so, no help there. Anyone have a suggestion?

      Hi Darren, so glad you like this feature. Once you have the GCS assigned it's super easy to turn on/off. I do have a suggestion for controlling the appearance of the Raster. It's fairly simple, but long to explain.
      1. Create a new DGN with same GCS as the one you want to print.
      2. Attach the Bing Maps via Raster
      3. Go back to the DGN you want to print.
      4. Attach the DGN you just created and make sure Display Raster is on
      5. You can now Clip the DGN Reference file, which will clip the Raster
      6. If you are printing a PDF, you can edit the Print driver (Raster section) to change the Contrast etc. make sure to reload the Print Driver
      I’ve tested it and it works 😊

    How to add the Bing Maps option to my MicroStation if I don't have it ?

  • @ThexBorg

    Sam, can I create a DGNLib with my selected GCS attached and then have them available for end users by default without them having to find them each time?

      Hi, the GCS doesn't display via a DGNLIB. What I suggest is assigning the GCS to the Seed file(s). Or... when assigning a GCS you can create Favorites. Favorites are stored in an XML file. There is a Variable (MS_GEOCOODINATE_FAVORITESFILE) that you can point everybody's workstation to. That way they don't have to hunt down the correct GCS every time. I hope this helps, if not, let's continue the conversation :) cheers!

    One more thing... If I create a DGN with Bing attached, which is set up as one coordinate system, and I attach the DGN to another CAD file in a different coordinate's system; which coordinates system will it use?
    The reference file or active file?

    • @CaltransMicroStationVideos
      @CaltransMicroStationVideos Год назад

      I assume the Active File and the file you are about to Reference both have Elements in them that are coordinate correct. when Attaching the Ref there will be an option called Geographic - Reprojected. Choose that and the Ref file will come in coordinate correct to the Active file. Hope that helps:)

    Can we add 3D polygons to bing maps like 3d bars to buildings to show the energy data of that building in maps?

    • @CaltransMicroStationVideos
      @CaltransMicroStationVideos Год назад

      Bing Maps is coming from Microsoft Servers and cannot be edited, if that's what you are asking. You can draw in the DGN file and export (2D/3D) to Google Earth... if that helps. Or am I not understanding the question ;-)

      @@CaltransMicroStationVideos I was trying to ask just like we can add bar charts to bing maps in excel to display data can we do that on bing maps without excel, so that it appears as a 3D bars on top of map on a particular location to display data related to that location

      @@keshavtomar3541 Okay, I think I might know what you are asking. In Excel on the Data Tab and in the Data Type group you can have Excel provide Organization, Stock or Currencies information. If that is what you are asking, sad to say MicroStation doesn't do that. But you could use Excel and then import (link) the Excel file. I don't think charts and graphs come across.
