Love how common these podcasts are becoming. With cowboy too. I've been lurking in his streams sometimes, but man, he usually comes off so harsh I was afraid to post and get banned outta nowhere lol Probably unfounded but still. I do get the sentiment though.
The thing about not owning games that I'm not ok with is that they're not refunding the money for taking away access to content. If I'm paying $60 for a game, I should not need to worry about one day no longer having that game accessible and be out the money with no recourse to get it back.
50:46 this is the same thing everyone was doing with Lords of the Fallen… no one called out the people doing it though… people came into my tiny stream and videos and did the same thing as they did with most ppl and no one ever called it out. The Ratotoskr guy did a whole stream with Ruri doing this on LOTF and never made a substantive point. You could tell Ruri didn’t agree but was trying to be cordial. He was like “I played it for a half hour and quit…” then talked about how bad it was for 3 hours… and clearly knew very little about the game as he said things were missing that were actually in the game. I felt like barely anyone called it out and it was so weird because it was one of the better games I played last year. Flawed yes but ppl seem to not grasp issues with a game don’t mean it’s necessarily bad… in fact gameplay and story in some games can be good enough to smooth over minor issues. For me anyways.
That quote that you put there is not a quote from Ratatoskr at all, why are you just attributing something to him he didn't say? He played the game for multiple hours, I watched two multi hour streams of his where he got through a decent chunk of the game.
You don't need to get to the end of a game to know you don't like it, many issues can be very apparent before that point. That doesn't mean all criticism of the game is valid, but it completion is not a prerequisite to critiquing something. I've walked out of films before because the first half is so terrible that there's no way for them to redeem themselves. Why should I have to watch the whole thing if the creators couldn't be bothered to make the first half of it enjoyable?

yea im pretty sure you misinterpreted the weapon tree, each weapon has their own set of passive to unlock but those passives only apply if the weapon equipped, in the demo u can se one weapon has hp and the other has some sort of damage skill, those are the weapon skills but they're locked to that weapon and only work when equipped
In the demo you can’t see the mastery tree skills I talked about in the podcast, those will only be present in the final game. And unless the devs change their minds from the showcase, it works exactly like I said. I triple checked the info since it sounded so different from what I expected.
@rurikhan I did see the in the cygames stream, I just figured we couldn't access the weapons skill tree because we can't use the blacksmith in the demo, it's still seemed the hp/damage skills on the weapons WERE the passives but I sure hope how u said it is right
It’s both, there’s passive effects on the weapon tree and passive effects on the weapon itself, I believe I mention this in the video. The passive effects one the weapon itself are only for when it’s equipped. It’s a little confusing.
I can't help but feel like that's a pretty gross misunderstanding of what having an internal monologue means. I get he was specifically talking about being assholes but kinda harsh to say that someone with no internal monologue lacks the mental capacity to reason with themselves.

But when he listen to music in his daily life he never uses them, he has an app for that when walking around or in his car, so the CDs are a collectionist accesory, not the main way to listen to music. And that is going to happen to games too, you may have their disc in a shelf where you can appreciate them. But at the end of the day the way that brings most convenience is going to be the main way to play games, and that is not going to be physical media.
