AI is counter-productive to sale figures. If you know you can only play the game with your friends for any kind of challenge - you'll have to convince them to buy more copies.
Next up, every AI has 20 nukes, 5 GDM and 100k each, entire map is covered in goody huts and barbarian camps, in perpetual war. *inb4 nothing happens and they all get wiped out by the barbarians* The AI surprises me everytime. This makes the game look like a shitty smartphone game rather than an actual computer game in 2019. The AI behaviour in SMAC is better than this and that game came out in the 15th century. You're supposed to IMPROVE the AI in each new game Sid, not make it worse. The people who wrote that AI should be fired tbh.
Thats' the same issue in almost every 4x game. AI is always dumb as a brick because it can't easily discriminate between the many choices it has to do for any action (building in a city, moving or attacking with a unit) Idk, maybe to have a decent AI in those games, it will need the same kind of learning AI used in SC2? (the one that can beat some top tier player by playing thousands over thousands of games)

I started a marathon game the other day as gilgamesh on emperor difficultly, (Huge map) and the aztecs actually built a well balanced army really early on and literally wiped out every city state in their area (6 or 7) before 1500BC. Call me surprised, but I had to go to war against them with an inferior army just to stop their endless march across the map smashing defenceless cities without walls with catapults
FYI: If all the capital cities flipped, the last civ that didn't yet flip would win the domination victory. Because the Dom condition is simply be the last Civ holding onto it's original capital, not capture all the capitals.
How about: Give yourself an amount of gold that you think would make you be able to buy every building on your starting city at the start of the game and win the game by buying every building you can buy and never use production to build them. #1 You can't build any building with production that you are able to buy. #2 You can't win a conquest victory. You may add some other rules that you find interesting and made a playtrough with it. Just and idea, True capitalistic dream XD.
fun video. I hope when Civ 7 comes the some of the AI will be aggressive with all the fire power. So lame when I roll over a CPU players cities and I can see that they had bombers and stuff just sat there doing nothing.
Okay you see, me and the AI apparently fundamentally disagree on something. If I nuke a someone !twice! and they are in any conceivable way still standing, I'm running at that point until I can reliably keep an entire planet between me and them.

IIRC, AI in Civ 5 was as dumb as Civ 6, but at least, they weren't that reluctant to nuke you if they had the opportunity to do it. It happen to me that Egypt had nuked a decent portion of my army when I was trying to take his land (I mean, he nuked the city where my troops were nearby) Another AI I was at war with had nuked several of my cities too. Not like they used this advantage to actualy do something useful, they just happily continue to shoot the city with 0 health with fields canons for countless turns instead of taking it with a melee unit.
Question: Is the AI any 'smarter' on Deity than the easiest levels? Is it just the bonuses they get to start that differentiates Deity AI from Settler or does it actually 'behave' differently? Suggestion: Though this is fascinating to see the AI blunder about, I would like to see what a pro can do with a big advantage. A bunch of modern armor or nukes seems funny, but boring. How about tiny map, 3 AI, You start with 3 settlers, 2 workers, 4 units (your choice), 2 scouts 1 great Prophet and $5000 gold. See how fast you can win domination victory.
Why not do a video where each Civilization is given their unique units spammed for their specific era to see how the AI behaves? I took the time to research them all, and came up with a list for you to follow accordingly for each starting era. I've lost count of capitals flipping into free cities when I play super-crowded Huge Earth True Start Location games with 20 AIs. If you spawn with AIs really near, you can get their capitals or lose your own just from loyalty pressure in the first 50 turns.
Hey, I also found that Kupe is very dangerous. It's so hard to fight them and Kupe is the smarter one amongst. Yup, Dido is good. Eleanor is dangerous because of her flipping loyalty. Kupe uses a lot of good ships and all 3 ships: Missile Cruisers, Destroyers and Subs. It's so hard to get my bombers and carriers close. The cruisers and destroyers...they are anti-air. Yup, I like navy warfare over land--contrary to popular players that prefer land combats. I have at least 4 carriers, accompanied by subs (just to detect other subs and not to use nukes), all bombers that can fit into the carriers, settlers, Supply Convoys and tanks. Yah, I have problems fighting Maori. I don't normally use nukes because they are just too expensive and uranium ... i use them to trade with AIs for money and get them to build Giant death robots (a way to bankrupt them--I just give one uranium every turn for them to build GDRs but because they don't have enough uraniums to maintain them, the robots are so easy to take out by bombers, even they have anti-air capabilities. Bombers are good. Long range and can heal every turn. For some reasons, all AIs love robots. I only use one GDR only if I use nukes--and normally to take out Maori and Poland tremendous amount of ships. Poland seems to only build nuclear subs--and they are very problematic because of their stealthiness. If I can win them over conventional weapons, then I use small amount of thermo-nukes just to take out all the anti-air and stealth boats for both maori and poland. With Dido, I don't know why they are not into building strong navy given that they are coastal AIs. Btw, I play my games on Deity level and I find absolutely no difference in AI intelligence if you play the default Prince levels. But I must say, there are AIs that are smart at any diffculty levels. Korea is smart. Ethopia, which perhaps the most OPs along with Germany--Russia is also OP but they are not aggressive--Ethopia is still dumb. Their problem is that they don't take care of their cities. I play enough Civ6 to know which leaders are the last-man standing in the game.

I'd LOVE some Play Throughs with a focus on teaching us noobs strategies that you use to win on higher difficulties. The map... how do you get this map from the game? - Hey, if you don't mind, do you know how to have more tiles, both coastal and towards inland, to be flooded or submerged? - I tried to get the Black Death scenario into the main game. It's very interesting to see how the bubonic plague spread--reminds me of the game Plague Inc. (10/10). The game... it gets very stale in the late game stage. Boy, Eleanor and Jadwiga are also aggressive. Korea is also bad, coupled with its Science advantage.

Strictly bonuses. So bonus settlers and military units on starting. As a result, AI tends to be more hostile as s you are behind.
