Spiritbox plays in all the subgenres it can. As you dig deeper into them you will find all types of songs. Screaming with no cleans. Cleans with no screaming. Mostly screams with some cleans. Mostly cleans with some screams. And whatever else they have up their sleeve.
Belcarra! It's heavy AF! There are cleans in it which are beautiful, but the riff and screams are next level! Also Cellar door., Rule of Nines, Blessed be, and Holy Roller. Holy Roller is epic! So good. One of my favs.
Over the last 3 years this is easily my favorite band. They can do brutally heavy and then very soft and vibey and I love it all. You should try Sun Killer next. It's the first song off their first full length album and, I think, It's one of the best opening tracks ever.
Awesome reaction and afterthougts! You need to dive down deeper into these guys!! «Blessed Be», «Jaded», «Too Close / Too Late» I mean there is hard to choose any favourites tbh..
Courtney was in a bunch of bands before Spiritbox and one of the things I think she learned in those bands was she needed to write songs ABOUT SOMETHING. And so the Spiritbox songs tend to be really personal. She's trying to say something about mental health, abuse, confidence, love, murderers and more. They can write the heaviest song (their latest release, Cellar Door) and the softest most emotional songs. They're very versatile. And probably better live than in studio.
She can switch between the cleans and the screaming just like than but it's probably easier for her to hit the high scream right after a clean. If you notice she starts out the song at a pretty low tone. So she starts with the low growl "cut down the alter" then she starts the cleans still at the lower tone. But when she gets to the later part of the chorus where she sings "A traitor watches me" she's already at a high tone when she screams "this could all be yours" and then steps back, gives it time and then goes low again. But the fact that she know's where her vocal tone should be before transitioning shows great control and knowledge.
I love everything about Spiritbox. Your content is always entertaining. Spiritbox and Courtney are basically the definition of the velvet glove and the iron fist, the softest caress followed by a punch in the face that leaves you lying on the floor - so much emotion in their music. As I said, there is simply so much to love. Embrace and enjoy, bearded brother.
Spiritbox is awesome, and Courtney has been doing this for some time (the band IWrestledABearOnce is where I first saw her). My absolute favorite though is Jinjer, A metal band from Ukraine fronted by another totally bad-ass woman.
She goes from singing to screaming in a matter of seconds, I heared them live, for example in Hurt You, after a very long heavy breakdown she goes into falsetto like in a blink of an eye
Excellent reaction and a great track as a first introduction to Spiritbox, also my favourite band … ever, come to think of it. Courtney (the E on the end of her surname is silent, since you wondered about it) writes the lyrics and vocal melodies and usually is happy for listeners to interpret them in the way that best suits them, but she’s open about struggles with anxiety and depression, and has said this one refers in part to the conflict between her self-doubt and musical ambition, plus aspects of the music business. Her husband, Mike Stringer, writes the instrumental music and plays guitar on stage and in official music videos (they’re a 4-piece band), but many of the instruments on studio recordings, often. Spiritbox releases vary in precise metal style from one to another, they’re very versatile. Always give me goosebumps, though (which is a very good thing!). If you loved this one, you’ll certainly enjoy Jaded, their second-most recent release, but they have so many great tracks, covering quite a spectrum of heavy styles.
Nothing against Courtney I love her ..but then Tatiana from Jinjer says hold my beer !! Tatiana is the best screamer and growler in the game !! Not just the female side !!!!!
youll love songs like Blessed Be, Rule of Nines, Jaded, among others. those are prob their most balanced songs though with her doing both screams and cleans. but they have a lot of tracks that are HEAVY and a couple really nice softer ones as well
The "so, thats unexpected" an even the head scratch.. thats me so many times throughout my day.
“Can she go between singing and screaming”
Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer is another encredible lady that can do both at a very high level. Vortex would be a good song.

You’ll love em. React to their Grammy nominated song!
Yes, yes she can...
Your channel hits on 2 of my favourite things. Scottish comedy and metalcore. More of this!

Silk In The Strings takes the prize for their heaviest song.
Courtney is awesome, as is her husband Mike (guitarist), and the rest of the band. Next, you should check out the band Dying Wish.

Gotta react to their music video for their song “Constance” no screaming but it’s a beautifully sad song.
Love the beard dude
React to more. Rule of Nines, Blessed Be, Jaded, and Rotoscope
PLS LISTEN TO RULE OF NINES ONE TAKE BY THEM ITS AMAZINGGGGGG
6:32 funny you should ask
Roll Tide from a fellow metal head.

Can't help noticing you're wearing a Bama hat while reacting to someone originally from Alabama. Coincidence?
