    Everything she does feels so natural but is 100% intentional and artistically masterful.

    Easiest way is to just classify it as harsh vocals. No one will dispute you on that.

    Courtney is originally from Alabama but lives on Vancouver Island, Canada with her husband, Mike Stringer, who is the guitarist for the band

      @counselthyself her IMDb profile has her born in Alabama, moved to Maine, then to Canada.

    • @Twe4ke
      @Twe4ke Год назад +1

      @counselthyself wiki, imdb, and other sources show her being born in Alabama. There an interview or something where she explicitly says born in Maine?

    • @Twe4ke
      @Twe4ke Год назад +2

      @counselthyself french is prevalent in the south as well. Ever heard of Louisiana? Mardi Gras started in Mobile, AL as well, huge french influence there. Not a far-fetched idea for her to have been born in Alabama either. I will look for the interviews, but literally everything else is saying she was born in AL, so I'm going to go with that until I can find definitive proof otherwise.

    • @Twe4ke
      @Twe4ke Год назад +1

      @counselthyself I didn’t need a history lesson, I majored in history AND I’m from the south. I know all about it. I’m telling you it’s conflicted because I did that search and there’s one answer that says Maine and like 5 or more that say Alabama, major sites like wiki AND IMDb say Alabama. I will look for the interviews.

    This was take 4 out of 6. If you watch other one-takes of Courtney this is the one where she is really in control. Also she displays it marvelously at the end of the song. It's like, she has finally come out of her shell. Also, you can't compare her to Taitiana from Jinjer. I don't care how whispery, breathy, whetever "vocal coaches" have to say, Courtney is in perfect control of her instrument and it fits the overall expression of the band perfectly.

    Love this reaction! I believe most of Courtney's harsh vocals are "false chord screams".

    Can definitely admire it, but not sure if I'll ever get used to the scremo/grunting sounds haha. Seems like something best left on a battlefield xD But she can sing apart from that!
