Why is bootleg being uploaded at a reasonable hour???
Cause this episode was supposed to come out at 4 am
It's like staying up too late. Do it enough and eventually you cycle back around to the next day😂😂
Define "reasonable". 🤣
Brett is in Ireland so EJ definitely uploaded 😂
Chargers miss used Kenneth Murray and missed used Quentin Johnson last year!
One of the coolest crossovers of all time, so awesome guys
Agreed.
Brett is never this early.
must be a EJ upload 😂
That is a true statement. But if you throw him in a different time zone...
This was stellar! Brett is becoming one of the most reliable voices during draft season trouncing PFF.
Both put out great content
Congratulations JJ McCarthy! You are a Washington Commander!
@@negative2positve380we both know since Cris Collinworth bought PFF it has decayed significantly. It's downright unwatchable now.
Which one is he again.@@MaxamillianStudio
@@MarkMark-kj9xpthe tall skinny guy in the commentary booth on NBC Sunday Night Football
I need an hour of Brett and DJ complimenting each other. That was awesome!
Almost cried when they pulled that shit on NFLSx 😢
It was James o'shaughnessy from Illinois state!
EJ definitely uploaded this
🤣 I actually didn't but I appreciate the nod.
Love this pod so much you guys do your homework but are even better people
Appreciate you checking it out... and saying so.
DJ remembering JAMES O’Shaughnessy (Chiefs legend) fills me with joy.
love the change of perspective, not just talking about players but also the scouting process and getting a look behind the scenes
What a wonderful chat, DJ is fantastic, love the peek behind the curtain thanks to all his experience and trajectory, couldn't be happier for you guys!!
DJ rules. That is all.
EJ is always in tune with the guest and their projections without knowing it!! Brett your partner is correct! Great episode.
Well you just made work tomorrow alot better. The goat draftee analysis guy with the goats 1b and 1c in no particular order😂
New to the Bootleg podcast and recently subscribed. I am really enjoying this podcast and this episode was excellent. I love that it was a departure from the standard draft pundit topics that many other channels are rinsing and repeating (like Daniels vs. Maye, etc.). I loved the behind the scenes about prospect interviews and the little nuggets about Dadrion Taylor-Demerson and Javon Bullard. Great discussion! Keep up the great content!
Great chat, Bootleg with the most enjoyable draft content out there as usual!
Fantastic content. always love hearing these player stories
A good part of this video is brett and ej trading blows by getting DJ's approval on guys they like/dont like and thats so awesome
Awesome pod, I love how natural the conversation was and that DJ was actually listening and responding to you guys. He seems like a class act! And obviously his knowledge on the draft is second to none. Really cool guest!
This was a nerd out and it was great to watch!
Cracking show lads
Best draft coverage! I’ll be locked in on draft days!
Excellent insight 💪
Perfect timing.
Dj knows his stuff. You all should feature marcus Whitman pre draft, stand up guy and my favorite youtuber ever
DJ is really the best
Awesome podcast wow
This is better than Christmas morning
You dare post this as I'm on my way to work. Well this is in my ears on my walk now.
This was a lot of fun.
DJ is one of my fav’s.
Love getting him on home broadcasts for Chargers.
Just such a nice dude with a great football mind.
As a Chargers fan, 100% agree. DJ and Money are great on the mic together.
@@CreamyPesto505 one of the best in the league in my opinion that’s probably biased, but I do switch between home and away broadcasts on nfl+ and they’re a great mix of energy, flow and facts.
Be that as it may, that makes _three "analysts" familiar with the Chargers_ that utterly refuse to blame the play-calling for their offensive woes. One would think they'd at least be aware that other analysts & Yt channels _don't_ have that qualm.
They're totally mismanaged. If it wasn't for people blaming their luck all the time this might be more apparent. But the play-calling sets Herbert up for failure *and* injury & it's doing it Really Well.
@@choosecarefully408 I mean I’ll give it a shot here with Harbaugh.
DJ is employed by the Chargers and he’s not one to mud drag.
Sometimes I wish he would more because play calling was atrocious given Herbert’s talents.
I really think with Harbaugh we got lucky and might have our first real coach and offensive / in general great football mind.
@@ryanquinn1257 Hey, I'm the first one to say coaching & play-calling matters. & here's the thing, Kellen Moore is already gone, right? So it's not dissing the team to point out his faults, except to say they made the mistake of hiring him in the first place.
& a huge mistake it was. _I_ could see what he was doing in Dallas that led to Dak's high INT count & I don't even know what plays are called. But he continued the same mistakes with the Chargers, the main one being he sends All Receivers the same distance out then has them turn towards the QB. He _thinks_ this means the QB can send the ball to Any Receiver at the right moment but come _on!_ It doesn't work that way!
It's obviously the scheme of a 12-year-old who can't be told what's wrong with their plans. The defense _SEES_ All Receivers on the same yard line.
He can't even take defenders into account in his schemes, hence the comment about his schemes being that of a child. He's drawing up what he thinks works For The Offense *without taking into account that* the opposing defense doesn't run away from the receivers for him. Even the one video I have about this terrible play-calling was made by someone who blamed Staley. They're not wrong: ultimately it's all on the HC to correct anything wrong.
But the fans in Pittsburgh *got* rid of Matt Canada by 1) noticing he sucked then 2) admitting to themselves he sucked. Who gets anywhere pretending otherwise? The Eagles are about to regress even more. Brown & Smith are best used as Deep Weapons.
Moore's gonna send them 15 yards out then order them to pirouette in synch with each other. & Sirianni is either high or whatever he is on the sidelines, he doesn't make in-game changes anyway. It's gonna be another year of wasting all the talent Roseman acquires for them.
@ 14:00, got ‘em 😂
Great episode guys
DJ just takes shots at everyone 😂. Saw him roast Klatt, Hanzus, rosenthal and now Brett
Rich Eisen and Daniel Jeremiah the two staples of NFL network
Tangent of all tangents: Interview Tactics, Bootleg w/ DJ
Jeremiah + Bootleg = Heaven
Good points about success of a player can depend on how he is used!!
Just three bros being awesome and talking ball
Fingers crossed Rich Eisen makes the list at some point :-). Really interesting discussions on here, thanks for pulling it together.
This is such a great wholesome vid. Three good people
man we got loaded guests now 😂
Regardless of the chatter, I really can't see the Chargers picking Alt or anyone to play RT @ 5 when WR, CB and even OC are all much bigger holes.
I will take one Bullard to GB at pick 41 please.
Oh shit imma go buy some snacks before I watch this
Oh Shack Hennessey
Do you mean O'shaughnessy?? 😂
Loved this crossover episode with 3 gems 💎 and lots of great insights 🎉Can’t wait for the draft! Go Hawks! 💙💚 *don’t fuck it up John!
Felt like this started as an intervention for Brett😉
Finally! Someone else brought up Cooper Dejean and the new kick off rule together. That kid is going to be so versatile in the nfl.
Loved the episode, anything with DJ is bound to be great. I swear every time y'all release a new episode EJ is even more out of focus and the wall behind him becomes even more tack sharp lol.
First guy I thought of was Corley!
One of my favorite tape ever is Frankie Solomon. Safety who would play up as slot too. Arena football great now
How much is a boatload of extra picks, maybe two?
46:50 what did y’all cut out at this time stamp!? Mims #1 target for Jim
LETS GOO
DJ saying cramming for final... why he calling me out like that 😅
41:40 EJ is probably not talking about him but
any opinions about Matt Lee from Florida, a bit undersized loved him at center
Some chiefs fans still love you Brett ❤ great podcast episode!!
Nice to see Brett get humbled, he really just says anything.
Troy Franklin is Chosen Anderson imo
I’m never this early.
Brett, Bucky can get up to 210, they can get him on that NFL Strength room (aka anobolics offseason and growth hormone all year) it’s mind boggling people still cant acknowledge this happens with guys that are in state of the art training facilities with the best strength coaches and they magically put on size again in the league
Agree with DJ Malachi Corley and Bucky Irving are gonna be two really nice players. The real value in this draft is in the top 100 so if I’m a team light on picks like the Bears I’m either trading down from 9 if Odunze and Alt are gone or trading up from 75 if possible to add picks in the 25-65 range. Ladd McConkey is another receiver I really like along with Edges Marshawn Kneeland and Adisa Issac. Throw Austin Booker in their also. Of course upgrading the OL further you’ve got Fuaga, Fautanu, and Jackson Powers-Johnson. CWs new best friend.
If you could get Mayock for the podcast that would be the coolest thing ever
Doesn’t feel right will be waiting till 2am to watch
I feel like I’ve seen every interview with dj and this is the most chemistry I’ve seen. Even more than bucky
Felt pretty good coming off the bat.
Motor was great for the Texans.
As a packers fan, hearing Corley being described as a running back in a WR role gave me extreme Amari Rodgers flashbacks
I’m confused did he get Toledo and Georgia confused when talking about quinyon😂
I'm hoping the Lions draft Edgerrin Cooper to pair with Jack Campbell. That would be a NASTY young LB duo!
Who are they talking about at 32:00?
Why does nobody ever talk about the risk of switching a tackle from the left side to the right side when it comes to the Chargers drafting Joe Alt?
chargers should take MHJ if he's there without a question. Yes we could use OL, but all of our problems will not be fixed with this one draft. We will be able to get more OL in later rounds or even OL just as good next year. There won't be anything close to a MHJ available to us in later rounds or next year. go best player available AND its at our biggest position of need. There's a reason every fan is saying the exact same thing
If Marvin Harrison Jr. is available for the Giants at 6, I'd be so excited. On the other hand, the Giants are where wide receivers go to die.
Poles is going to jump them and take Marvin
I want to know how Brett assumed the Ravens would use Hamilton right when the last safety we drafted high we did not use him right. Matt Elam was in coverage way too much.
Draft season best season.
🎯
Loveland Mich TE?
I expected him to say Mason Graham.
The analytics are great but sometimes guys are just GOOD. The .2 second difference in 40 times and small differences in metrics can’t make up for just being good. Having vision, heart, feel for the game, being a competitor, etc. Analysts sometimes get too caught up on these numbers. Trust your eyes and gut.
"Brett, remember, we love you, and this is a judgment-free zone, but we're concerned about your Bucky Irving take"
Why is EJ in purple guy cosplay
Of topic, but how are these guys supposed to tackle now? You can't wrap arms around them and bring them down with new rule!😮
Do you mean the hip drop tackle?
@@jaywkl7 ya! Reffing can't get Pass interference right. How they going to get this right?
now we wait for that chris simms x bootleg football crossover
James O'Shaughnessy
Kyren has always been sub 200 he's definteiy not 212 now
Reminder that these prospects also grew up on Richard Sherman and Lynch... So a little media training was probably necessary 💀
Bears trading up for Marv is impossible. Why would this man tease me like that.
47:53 heck ya DJ
A&M fan it’s a hard i on Anias and he’s not a a rb. He needs space.
Bucky Irving is an angry James White
I like it.
I’d be shocked if Ekeler is stronger than Irving…especially coming out of college. Bucky is an absolute beast in the weight room. Bucky reminds me of a Kamara type of player. Obviously not that elite of a player most likely, but that’s how he plays.
I also think everyone is sleeping on Franklin because he had a few bad drills at the combine. He was elite last year at Oregon. Ranked near the top of almost every metric in 2023.
Also i feel like the league should be rooting for the bengals given they're record vs the chiefs lol. I think ppl love to hate for no good reason...
DJ is the BEST
I’m just a guy sitting here trying to figure out what the University of Oregon ever did to Brett to make him loathe every player who ever comes out of there
I think he got bit by a duck as a child.
Justin Herbert
Oregon good, Troy Franklin bad
he’s pretty high on bo nix iirc
I think you guys were referring to James oshaughnessy who happens to be a cousin of mine he went to Illinois state
So the hands down best CB in this draft went against b Roman at the Senior Bowl. He won some and loss some in that match up. Oddly, Roman isn't talked about in the top receivers. Why is he not the 4th best receiver. I've seen Roman talked about around the 10th best give or take. So either Roman is the 4th or better... Or Quinyon is not that good.
Personally, I'm leaning towards Roman being at least the 4th best receiver.
Kinda shocked that DJ likes Bucky Irving so much. He is NOTHING like Kyren Williams. Maybe some of their measurements are similar, at least when Kyren was coming out, but they play NOTHING alike. Bucky Irving plays like a slow Theo Riddick, and I do not think his style of play will translate will against NFL defenders.
I feel like Theo Riddick is probably the best comparison for him. He can be a solid pass catching back, but probably won't offer much in the run game.
Dan Oshaughnessy is a hack at the Boston Globe. James oshaughnessy is who they were thinking of lol
46:54 charger fans will thank you later DJ
Bolt Up
I still like you Brett even if u did become a Chiefs hater lmao
You can like Bucky Irving. The issue is if you need to compare him to make an argument, it’s so boring
For like the last 4 uploads everyome in the comments keep sayin the same corny line "ReAsOnaBle uPLoaDs!?"
