John and I both used to love Raxs. My favorite was the deluxe roast beef sandwich. Thanks for bringing back good memories. We enjoyed the table talk.😎😎
The deluxe is so good. I've only ordered BBCs and the Deluxe, but have always wanted to try their mushroom melt. We hope that y'all have a Merry Christmas!
A local gentleman Rich Donohue here in my hometown of Ironton Ohio now owns the Rax name and stores. He bought the rights when they went under several years ago. We frequently visit the RAX in Ironton. Glad you enjoyed it.
Oh, I miss RAX! We used to head over on our lunch breaks all the time. But sadly they closed it in the 90's. Thanks for bringing back happy memories.😃💜
Rax has so much nolstalgia and we've love to see them make a comeback. Thanks for sharing your memories of Rax and for watching. Merry Christmas! O-H!!
I just wanted to let you know that we watched your review. The next day we drove 45 minutes to go to Circleville and eat at Rax. We ordered everything. I love the Deluxe and my husband loves the BBC. We ordered everything you had but forgot the potato skins. Thank you!
Cool video! This is one of our favorite places to eat...been meaning to do a review for a while! I've been trying to get the recipe for the BBC sauce for years! Glad you guys were able to visit.
Thank you! We were in the same boat - had this one on our places to visit list for about 2 years, but all of the locations are off the beaten path. We were visitng family about an hour away and decided to finally make the voyage since we don't know how much longer they'll stay open. If y'all end up finding the recipe for the BBC sauce, we'd love to have the secret....it's sooo good! We hope that y'all have a Merry Christmas and get to visit a Rax soon.
I used to love this place when I was a teenager back in the early 80's. We had one in Franklin TN. They had a blueberry shake that was awesome. It's sad to see these establishments fade out. 😢
Sitting in that front window and hoarding my Uncle Alligator plastic cups was life back in the day! I’ve made the 2 hour drive to New Carlisle more than once just to eat at Rax, and then turn around and head home. Glad you all liked it, we gotta get them to expand again, if they can do it with Chi-Chi’s, they can do it with Rax!
Love your channel. I worked for Rax in 1980 in Cincinnati. I didn't know there were any left. We were one of the first restaurants with a drive thru window. Stay warm 😊
That's really cool that you used to work at a Rax. What was your favorite thing to order when you worked there. We've heard that the mushroom melts were a big hit too. We hope that you have a Merry Christmas, Sharon! Thanks for watching.
Haven't had one in south carolina for decades. I was thinking in the early part of the video about the shakes. I loved this place and was trying to tell my wife about it. Everything I remember was great. Thanks for sharing ( and making me jealous)😂
Gotta love Henry in his car seat spilling some milkshake off his straw onto his shirt then he looks up front at the camera to see if he was caught red handed as he takes his jacket trying to cover it up!! 😂😂 kids crack me up
OMG, I can't believe you are in my hometown of Circleville, OH.....home of the Circleville Pumpkin Show (Ohio's oldest and largest festival). The giant pumpkin weighed 2,388 lbs. last year & this year the weight was 2,226 lbs. Next time you are in Circleville, you have to try a pumpkin donut at Lindsey's Bakery. I also prefer Rax over Arby's. Good 'ole Ohio. Ohio still has a Rax, Ponderosa, York Steakhouse and a few Arthur Treacher's in the Cleveland area. I hear Ranchers Roast Beef in Washington Court House has an excellent roast beef sandwich. Go Buckeyes!
We enjoyed visiting your hometown, Jeff! That's incredible that a pumpkin weight nearly 2,400 lbs!!! WOW!!! We will have to check out Arthur Treachers and Ranchers. The lady who helped us with our passports had also mentioned Ranchers when we told her that we were traveling to Circleville to eat at Rax. We'll halso have to try out Lindsey's Bakery the next time we're up in Circleville. Thanks for the recommendations. GO BUCKEYES!! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Back in the eighties and nineties there used to be Rax all over Florida. Used to eat there as a kid and loved it. I miss not having them around anymore. In Florida.
Oh man you were right down the road from me! I live in Chillicothe about 15 minutes from there. We still love to stop by there from time to time at that location. Sad we no longer have one here.
That is super close! We're very familiar with Chillicothe. We'd love to see Rax have a comeback. With some amped up marketing, they could have so much potential. We hope that you have a Merry Christmas!
Thank y'all! Rax is so good and the quality hasn't declined either. It was just as good as it's ever been. That's so cool that y'all have that in common and getting married the same year.
I absolutely love arbys on obt in Orlando, at least twice a week visit while on vacation, but those sandwiches look fantastic, great video my brother happy holidays to everyone
Oh wow, what a blast from the past!!! We had these in Chattanooga, and they were great! I especially loved their milkshakes!! I have no idea why they closed here. 😊. BTW, I agree it has the best roast beef!!
We agree! We read that their marketing team struggled to make the brand appealing to a wide audience in the 90s and the fast food market was becoming too competitive. We really wish they'd make a comeback. Definitely - it is the best!! We hope that you have a nice weekend, KDE!
Absolutely! It is for sure. We don't live in Murfreesboro, but our P.O. box is there since it's the most centralized area for our travels. Regardless, it's still quite a roadtrip from TN. We hope that you have a Merry Christmas too, Alabama Man. We hope that you enjoy TN Jeds!
Wow, I never knew them places existed, but I’m in Nebraska and I’m in Arby’s lover. I like good roast beef sandwich from down that way. I might have to find one of those places. Thank you for sharing. Happy holidays to your lovely family. I’m so glad I found you.🥰🙏🏼🧘♀️
Never been to one! Brent, really enjoyed your video. I'm hungry now and those looked so good! As always loved the boys reviews! Send that snow towards Oklahoma. Love y'all and God Bless!❤️❄️

@@EveryDayIsSaturdayTV it's a shame there's not more of them just like hot n now there's only left in Michigan usually go there with my brother mayb every couple months
Love your family.Love your channel. We live in West Virginia next to the Maryland line & my favorite roast beef is Roy Roger’s. A lot better than Arby’s that is also in our area. May God Bless All Of You.
Thank you so much, Patricia! We really appreciate your kind words. We will have to try out Roy Rogers sometime. We just looked them up and their sandwiches look delicious. Merry Christmas and God bless!
Hi James! We have not been to the pumpkin festival, but would love to go. The festival always coincides with a conflict that we have during that time of the year but we're hopeful that there will be a year when we can make it. Thanks for letting us know about the Lancaster location. We will definitely have to try and make it out that way to try that location as well. We hope that you have a Merry Christmas and thanks so much for watching.
There was a Rax Roast Beef near Eastgate in Cincinnati. I recall an apple cobbler that had cheddar cheese bits in it. Don’t know why but I always like that. Guess it has to do with Gentry’s Cheese Theory where ‘everything taste better with cheese’ !!
You are right, Edith! This definitely looks like the inside of an old Wendy's. Rax was known for their Solariums but Wendy's had them just like this. I bet you're right and this was an old Wendy's that was converted to a Rax at some point.
Omg ty very much for answering my question I feel so special and the shouted out 2 never went there before it looked fantastic and yummy have a fantastic weekend sending lots and tons of ❤❤❤ hugs kitty's support be safe out there guys xoxo 😊❤
OMG Rax is better than Arby's? Well i can't say much about you saying that Rax is better than Arby's. I never ate there so i can't compare the 2 restaurants. But i absolutely love Arby's roast beef sandwiches with lots of Arby's sauce i can literally drink their Arby's sauce it's the best their is on a good ole roast beef sandwich. I always get the biggest roast beef sandwich they make. And put tons of Arby's sauce on it along with cheese sticks and sauce. And a huge sweet tea. Im totally in love with Arby's. To me that's the best fast food restaurant they ever made. But if i ever come across this restaurant Rax i definitely will give them a try. But my question is what is the difference between the 2 roast beef sandwiches? Does Rax have different style of how they roast their beef?
Great question! Rax's cheddar cheese also has worcestershire sauce, vinegar, sugar, mayonaise, and natural bacon flavoring (Which we assume is bacon grease) mixed in. It gives it a really dynamic flavor. Jennifer is not a fan of mayonaise, so that may be attributed to why she wasn't as big of a fan of their cheese sauce. If you enjoy Arby's, we think that you'd absolutely love Rax. Rax also provides the option to get your beef and cheddar on an onion bun, just like Arby's. Many blame Rax's decline in the number of restaurants due to poor marketing tactics in an increasingly competitive fast food market back in the 90s, but that information is just from some of what we've read online. We hope that you have an amazing weekend, Darci. If you end up trying a Rax, we'd love to hear your thoughts.
@EveryDayIsSaturdayTV of course I will let you guys know what I think about Tax if I can find one in my area. I live in the state of Tennessee. So hopefully one day I will be lucky enough to get to try Rac out and one more question for you. Does Rax come with their own sauce like Arby's does?
John and I both used to love Raxs. My favorite was the deluxe roast beef sandwich. Thanks for bringing back good memories. We enjoyed the table talk.😎😎
