- Agility Robotics, a small company of 42 employees in Albany, makes bipedal robots, with arms and legs, and has sold the first two to Ford Motor Company. It's just the beginning for the implications of how robots like these will be used.

Ford Motor Company will use one robot to test a package delivery service and another to practice moving assembly parts in their warehouse.

Like they said, they started with legs.. Now it has arms.. The buyers are the ones I'd be concerned with retrofitting them with weapons... It's not farfetched to think they will.
Scrappy the robot dog
We need protection
The only one putting weapons on them is the government. No person would buy this just to use it like Villian
No doubt China and Russia will 🙈🙉🙊, so we must also. All dictators understand are the consequences you can make them and there country deal with.
It’s called a *slow boil.*
And humanity falls for it every stinking time.
What stops someone from stealing the packages or even breaking your robot
Be nice to robots they are here to help.
What stops someone from beating up the delivery man and stealing the packages? What stops someone from destroying every car they see? The robot will have cameras on it, and there will certainly be legal repercussions for breaking the robot.
@Chris Young fear mongering
what stops someone from stealing the packages and breaking the delivery men.
That s a crime. Only is that you do it in front of a live camera
Half humanoid half grasshopper
Lol
How’re we supposed to buy their stuff if everything is being done by robots?
I'd like to see these dudes with guns fighting Boston dynamics lel
We are the robots! Kraftwerk.
This thing walks faster than the Tesla bot
Bro looking for his shakashuri
Its got bird legs to be called humanoid😁
The dawn of terminators have arrived.
If someone mails you a package, it is your package once it arrives, whether or not you ordered it. The box they sent it in also becomes yours. Once the robot is on my property, is it mine? I didn't order it.
The joint in the leg looks like a backward knee, or bird leg , make it more a heel and shorten its length but extend the length of the “hip “joint area and it will have a more human appearance and gate it would actually look more like a tip toeing human but I know of many humans whom stand and walk on their tow pards
Seems cool but the robot could just have wheels. Im pretty sure people would just rob them and break them as well.
Where can I drop my resume.. j wanna work with this company
some teenagers are gonna steal it, just you watch.
You won’t make the world a better place by allowing human simulators to take jobs from actual humans
I want one, and to cover his robot body with a Xavier renegade angel costume.
It looks very strange!!!
Luggage robot 🤖 works 🐝✨✨✨✨ good follow
Fallout 4: am i a joke to you
"There will be no weapons on our robots"
how much you wanna bet

Why would you want that thing around you?
Audio response... Normally, a tapped oar recorded tour . With YOUR UPLOAD A.I. OF COURSE!!
OAR GUEST A.I.
So much for those 160K UPS delivery driver wages. As my father always told me. Never let yourself be over paid.
Just put a Freddy fazbear costume on it alreadyyyyy😡😡
uhh... just use delivery drones??
drones make noise and cant deliver all packages
@@xsuploader also legs/wheeled robots have higher weight capacity and higher fuel efficiency , besides if something goes wrong the package will suffer way less damage since is dropped from an human height unlike delivery drones which the package would be dropped from many feet up the air , not for mention malfunction will cause less damage to an robot with legs/wheels than a delivery drone , in the former case the damage is not that much , for the latter the damage can be too high for the drone ,and lastly adverse weather conditions are less of an issue to a legged/wheeled robot compared to a flying one
People are just going to follow these things and steal packages from them, or take the robot with them and just repurpose them. All you need is a faraday cage, a van and some fairly simple tools.
Then humans are going to just watch youtube video
I prefer to have humans delivering my packages as they have families to feed
What are you thoughts on automated looms for weaving textiles in the 18th century?
Something like UBI will have to be implemented at some point. People like to argue that new jobs are always created, but if every physical and driving job truly gets automated, do people actually believe everyone has the mental capacity and finances to just reskill into becoming AI researchers?
Not me I'm all for progress. Like it or not those people will soon be out of a job.
@@TheChristmasCreeper They become the useless class then I suppose. I mean I didn't even go to school to learn about ai and machine learning. I taught myself.
@@TheChristmasCreeper Sitting around doing nothing while getting enough money to live a comfortable life sounds great, until politicians and the taxpayers who pay for everyone's UBI decide you make too much money and you have no say in it because you gave up all your rights hoping for UBI back 10 years ago in 2021. Talk to people on welfare before you seriously promote UBI.
This won't end well. See Robocop 1.
Just stop.
Its scary robot... I think
Until the military buys your company, guy............. lp
Кузнечик.
So many people are going to rob those things
It too slow it needs a lot of work
So at what point are we gona come to the conclusion that either we need to support out of work society or get rid of money all together because it doesn't make sense 3/4 th of the population will be unable to support themselves, then what?
if this is how good the robots at a small business are then just think of what black projects the government has. their robots are probably already super soldier grade.
Nah. Commercial tech is usually better than government tech.
What people fail to understand is that it's going to require *more* humans to operate, maintain, update, upgrade, etc what's essentially a distributed machine that large, and the vehicles and drones will only be able to follow their rulesets. Vehicles likely won't be allowed off designated autonomous vehicle sharing zones, is my guess; like we have bus only lanes or bus zones now.
Any upgrade is going to have to be performed and tested extensively by humans first before it can be pushed to the fleet (or usually a stepped upgrade so you don't take out the whole fleet when something invariably goes not so smooth), which is even higher skilled work than the humans do now and it will require, again, *more* of them to keep a program like this running at all, much less smoothly.
last but not least, why don't you go live in a fucking cave you cringy ass luddites? YOU'RE WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE, MODERN THINGS.
postscript: humans never should have been treated like nor led to believe they were robots doing robots work in the first place.
Good Job.
I'm glad completely useless useless humans
robto
Replace humans.
200.000 ... absolutely overpriced, this stuff will go down to 10k max sooner or later. Just look back how much the first computers cost.
Z follow robots
ISRAELIES
World war Z robots ...
I am ashamed to be British, as unions are trying to get assurances they won't be replaced by robots. Ignorant, shortsighted people. They should be getting assurances for paid leave so they can retrain. But I don't blame them, it's just the economic climate.
Can robots practice Nazism? I think the programmer(s) of the rebot(s) reflects their conscious jobs. 😢 BTW - there is nothing wrong with repetitive work or a like to call it n - work work 😮.
And how many jods will they take? Hey guys,,let's get a $15 an hour minimum wage then replace the Jobs with robots...smart
For 250k that’s a year salary for 6 people
@@Rewelsworld They haven't made enough of them to benefit from economies of scale. They also need to recoup the loss for developing the robot. Look at Boston Dynamic's Spot robot. It used to cost a million to develop one with worse capabilities than the modern version. Improvements in design and less expensive component prices allows them to sell them for $75k now. Chinese companies who copied Spot's design are selling them for $10k. So in a decade we went from a $1mil robot with worse capabilities to a $10k robot with better capabilities. Following this trend we can expect these robots to be even better for around $50k in a couple years. If they get massed produced like cars they could be even cheaper.
@@Rewelsworld but you're forgetting that a robot can work around the clock (or at least until it needs charging), year round.
That's 15*24*365=$131,400 per year.
Of course this robot probably can't do everything a human can, and I would expect it to be a while before they come down in cost enough for the cost to be justified for most companies.
Regardless of minimum wage, this is coming. If we lived in any kind of reasonable economic system, this would benefit everyone. Unfortunately we live under a capitalist regime where the few people who own the companies are likely to be the only beneficiaries.
Why would anyone need this?
What a waste of time.
don't send this to my house unless you want a $200,000.00 dollar pile of scrap to clean off my lawn.
Scared?
You sound unstable.
You're crazy. This will make things ALOT cheaper on the shipping. But I guess you want to pay more for unreliable shipping, fucking idiot.
thats fine. But youll be given a court date and fined 200,000 dollars. The rest of the world will move on
Moron
So who gets to decide how the entirety of humanity lives?
Because they make money making these creatures, the rest of humanity has to just accept the total takeover of robots?
Yes.
✌🏾🙏🏾🐜so what happens to humans? . . . humanity, plant earth 🙏🏾✌🏾🐜wordlife
You're building robots to make rich people's lives even easier! Not for the workers quality of life because you're making them unemployed!
