As of writing this comment, Splash Mountain at WDW is now Permanently closed. Hopefully the replacement will be able to live up to the original
It will either be great, or will completely ruin the ride... we will see which
@@purromemes7395 I'm being cautiously optimistic, but I don't have much confidence in the higher ups and imagineers. So I wouldn't get your hopes up. Remember what they've done with Star Wars.
😢
@@thewalkingdad68 the new star wars land is amazing
Agreed
I watched the last riders about an hour ago. Was happy to see the cast members, ride operations and mechanics were the absolute last ones to ride. They certainly deserved that honor. Sorry to see such a great ride go, but completely understand why. Should be interesting to see in the next few days all the walls going up around that whole area and construction/demolition starting. Funny thing is, the first time I went to Magic Kingdom as a child, I was 3 1/2 years old...and the park had just opened back in 1971. Seen a lot of things change there. There was no pirates, no splash mountain, no Big thunder, no space mountain (the building was there, but no ride existed inside it)...and we had sky buckets and 20,000 leagues. Just think positive for the next version of what is to come. Having said that, I'm more than a little concerned about what the closing is going to do for park capacity... the lines for everything will be increased by even more until Tron opens.
R.I.P Splash Mountain From 1992 to 2023!!! It was such a fun ride and I enjoyed getting soaked on that ride and especially fun on hot days!! I got the most soaked on the Laughin Place part!! Again, Thank you Splash Mountain and Goodbye!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
it's being rethemed, the ride system will still be the same ,just the theme and animatronics will be different,
@@kitsdollies2466 A lot of people loved it because of the theming. Zipadeedoodah became a park theme like When You Wish Upon a Star. They're also scrubbing the music from the parks like it never existed.
It's from 1989 to 2023 for me, I live in California :)
I will miss Splash Mountain so much I had fond memories of this masterpiece
A lot of people did.
Yeah
And WDW's Splash soundtrack with banjos and harmonicas is also owned by Tokyo's ride with reworded lyrics to Japanese.
Tokyo's Splash Mountain is also located in Critter Country but the land is western village themed resembling Texas/New Mexico instead of Louisiana Bayou theme in California Disneyland.
@@ised-5239 Same with the Country Bear Jamboree. They have it in Tokyo Disneyland in its full original glory, but in Japanese (fine by me).
My family and I rode this version of the ride at night when we were there in July 2018 as it was hot during the day!! Riding this during nighttime was refreshing!!
Invisible voices in the finale: 🎶 It’s a time for celebrating today! Zip A Dee Doo Dah! 🎶
Thanks for filming this for all of us LMGVids!!! And thank you Splash Mountain for giving us all a Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah day!
I seriously hope that they leave a tribute or a reference in the new ride. If they don’t, I will cry
One thing for sure Jess doesn't want to be part of the new ride because he doesn't like the idea of the change.
Jess is Brer Rabbit
When Mr. Toad closed they put a tombstone for him at Haunted Mansion so it'd be cool if they keep with that tradition.
@@CrazyManhog Why would they include him in the first place?
Luckily we got a few.
The > in the Final descent 😭😭😭
I love this ride! Great video!
Thank you for uploading this in such wonderful quality.
it’s a shame we are losing all of this music. A lot of it is iconic. I think that will be the biggest loss here… unless they totally budget slash the replacement
I will never forgive Disney for this
Nobody will, they had gone too woke
Same here. Won't be going back to Disneyland or Disney world, I'll go elsewhere!
I’m probably not going to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as much. Splash Mountain was a masterpiece
@@thebiggrouch You are acting like your absence matters to Disney lmao
Rip splash Mountain we will miss you
It’s sad to see how a ride in 1992 was way more “technologically advanced” and impressive compared to today. Especially as technology evolved and changes. Sad to see how little care went into the ride in the last decade or so.
Yeah, I noticed some of the animatronic characters were broken and not moving. What a shame.
10:22 😢😢 I said the same thing with a small tear in my eye as we went down for the final time, for me I’ll miss hearing the jingle around the park and at the entrance. Hopefully it’s successor lives up to the hype or Splash Mountain was replaced for nothing
Because the ride is located in Frontierland maybe better the ride is themed to something else rather than Princess and the Frog but retaining Song of the South OSTs in homage to the former theme and the theming is a brand new story called Banjo Hero and the main protagonist is a cowboy dressed man whose hobby is singing and playing his banjo and making country music festivals throughout Arizona and would hike on Phoenix's Piestewa Peak until the top with his friend, the guitar playing gaucho. Then the sceneries inside the mountain cave are replaced by Piestewa Peak's trails. Then the ominous scene where "Burrow's Lament" plays before the final drop is replaced by that banjo man losses his trails and then sees a band of outlaws going to ambush the banjo man and then one of the outlaws wraps the banjo man with a lasso and then the outlaws put barrels of TNT to destroy the whole Piestewa Peak which eventually kill the banjo man and the guitar gaucho, then one outlaw who is lassoing the banjo man flee to bring a fire match to detonate the TNT barrels but then the guitar playing gaucho sees the banjo man crying for help then the banjo man and the guitar gaucho see a UFO flying then finally enters that UFO (represented by the area where the ride's final drop take place) before the peak is demolished into pieces, then escaping with that UFO, the UFO lands at the Grand Canyon as the banjo man escapes from the Piestewa Peak summit safely with the guitar playing gaucho and that gaucho removes the lasso wrap on the banjo man's body (represented at the ex-Briar Patch part) and then going to the Grand Canyon cave (represented by the final cave for the ride's finale to the Zip-a-Dee-Lady) and celebrated by his siblings visiting Grand Canyon cave playing instruments for the final scene singing to Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah and celebrating the party happily ever after and here the Zip-a-Dee-Lady steamboat is replaced by the stage with a roasted pig party with western saloon theme. As a result the ride is musical adventure themed and also works that the Arizona themed ride is located across Big Thunder ride because Big Thunder's theming is Arizona/Utah's monument valley and the ride name is Banjo Hero's Arizona Journey and the Briar Patch store is re titled into Phoenix Patch.
WDW Splash Mountain is the best ride ever created by Disney. Sad to see it go
Rise of the Resistance and Indiana Jones Adventure: "am I a joke to you?"
1st Gater & 2nd Gater Fine 3rd Gater Still Missing!
Long Live Splash
I never understood why the version in Orlando and Tokyo have Brer Rabbit with grey fur when at California (and in the movie) he’s fur is brown.
I wish I could have taken one of the animatronic characters home with me if they’re going to -desecrate- “re-theme” this ride. But they’re all placed in storage depots.
They should close the California Disneyland ones because of the land's theming of the Louisiana bayou and WDW's is western themed so it works for Frontierland.
Screens, Fog machines, and strobe lights incoming!!!!!’
Do you think you could get footage of the Disneyland version when it closes?
As far as I'm aware, Tokyo Disneyland are still keeping Splash Mountain for now.
The last time I rode it was at night.
thoughts on tiana's bayou adventure?
I don’t really like to make assumptions until I see the attraction for myself. I will say that I’m not a fan of what the lead imagineer for Tiana’s did with the projection mapping on Indiana Jones Adventure.
Anyone else think they should place markers in the haunted mansion pet cemetery for the Brair trio?
RIP WDW SPLASH 😢
Goodbye Splash Mountain 😭😢
Is there any date on splash mountain closing at Disneyland?
We haven’t heard of anything yet
What would I have done instead of retheming this ride? Demolishing the ride and leaving an empty lot for the brats who complained about this ride
