It's cutesy but levels itself out with funny scenes and that frightening but absolutely incredible Chickapin Hill sequence with the awesome dramatic music complete with the vultures and Br'er Fox preparing to basically delete Br'er Rabbit. With that said, this is easily the worst decision Disney has ever made on one of its theme parks. Bar none.

Basically the fables were stolen and white washed then Disney got the stolen fables. the actor for Uncle Remus wasn't even allowed at the premiere. It's more or less trying to let the fables stay with African/African American culture. It's for the best, shitty as it is the stories don't belong to Disney, never did. Tokyo can do what it pleases I still love the ride with all my heart, it's the one I grew up with. It's in better taste for the north American parks to be rid of it than Tokyo, they don't have the same history with slavery as we do.

    After watching multiple Splash Mountain ride alongs, it seems like Tokyo Disney has that awesome dramatic Chickapin Hill music pumping at the perfect volume. WDW and DL seems to have that music drowned out considerably by the lift chain. Maybe in person, it's different, but this version of the ride seems to be perfect.

    • @idk-zt8rx
      @idk-zt8rx 2 месяца назад +1

      I found it interesting that the audio mixing on the rides in the US parks were quite bad compared to the Tokyo versions. Just compare the Haunted Mansion graveyard scenes. The individual lines are much clearer in Tokyo than those in Anaheim and it just sounds right (though it may just be bias because I grew up with the Tokyo version and only went on the Anaheim version once).

    • @SirBuzz
      @SirBuzz 2 месяца назад +1

      @idk-zt8rx A really nice Imagineer who worked exclusively on the Tokyo version of Splash Mountain commented that they were able to develop a state-of-the-art lift system exclusively for Tokyo which is very quiet. This is what contributes to the music being so clear on the lift hill. With that said, I absolutely agree with your comment about the sound systems being superior to their foreign counterparts. I only have pov videos to use for comparison, but they always seem so loud and clear in Tokyo.

    • @idk-zt8rx
      @idk-zt8rx 2 месяца назад +1

      @@SirBuzz yeah, I saw his comments on another video too. He also shared that Tokyo Splash was worked on before WDW and WDW borrowed concepts from Tokyo. I decided to check a few povs like you suggested and they do sound the same as I remember; so I most likely was not biased ig.

Br’er Rabbit and the others are from black folktales and stories that sailed to the Americas and slightly changed with slavery (tar babies with their origin being slaves climbing tar fences to get to food are among one of Br’er rabbit’s adventures).
