- Splash Mountain closed at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom after the park closed on January 22, 2023. Splash Mountain was a flume ride inspired by characters from Walt Disney's Song of the South and opened in 1992. Tiana's Bayou Adventure will be replacing the attraction in late 2024.

The clapping for the cast members at the end was the best
Rest in Peace, Splash Mountain. You will always be one of my most favorite rides and I will never forget the fun memories shared with my family and friends

Thanks for this. I'm very happy that people stood on the bridge and clapped and cheered everyone and the cast members as they came down the falls for the last time. As well they should. If I would have been there, I would have done the same thing. They were giving Splash the send off it deserves, respect! My husband and I will miss Splash. 😔 💔
Goodbye to Splash Mountain, this was the one ride my dad and I would always go on together! Last year was no different😊 I really hope Tiana has a tribute to Brer Rabbit somewhere in the ride, like how Pooh does for mr toad

I never got to ride Splash Mountain when I was at Disney World with my family, we went on Thunder Mountain next door. Seeing this video is the next best thing to being there. I'm glad to hear it was a great ride from the people on Facebook, & I hope the new ride will bring just as much excitement as this one did. :)

Wow, beautiful work filming & editing this--kudos for a job well done.
I love the small, disturbed band of people who stood on the bridge cheering for those towards the end. If I had been in WDW, that's where I would have been.
I am sad to see a beloved ride pass into history, but am equally excited to see the transformation into Tianna's Bayou Adventure! So many possibilities. So many dark places that could be swamp with moss hanging off trees, and fireflies buzzing in the bushes. I can't wait to love it.
I am hopeful that Disney will go to great lengths to ensure it's wonderfully rendered. Too much pressure to build it on the cheap. And if they bring back the SPLASH at the end, all will be forgiven...even that whole Chapek fever dream.

Always leave them wanting more. We want this type of final curtain, not the slow, agonizing chloroforming of Stitch's Great Escape. I can't wait for the next incarnation of this ride.
They were heard?? Yeah, I can tell how well they were heard by the construction walls up at dawn this morning.

It will ALWAYS BE Splash Mountain. No one will ever call it by Anythjng else. We will always sun Zip a Dee doo dah. Sorry Disney. Completely bad decision here. But we the people won’t let you change this in our hearts.
What camera did you use ?
I loved the songs from this ride, I’m just annoyed that they are taking it away. They could have kept this ride and built further back.
Why do people keep saying it closed?
Cause they are shutting down the ride to change it to princess and the frog
From what I've seen, th2 clapping for the boats lol started really early in the evening. I'm sorry, I don't understand people getting upset or crying over a ride closing. They are adding a new one. My parents brought us to Disney every year when I was growing up, I rode this ride millions of times and I could care less if it's leaving or not. It's just a ride.
It’s the complete moronic reason to change it. 110% not needed. This was Disneys most beloved attraction. There will be a day they realise this was a mistake.
