    Dunk and Egg needs to be good and the Blackfyres need lots of love. I don't think I can handle it if it's not good. And if the Blackfyres are just evil and/or stupid my heart will shatter.

      Are you sure the blackfyres even exist in the series ?

      I think you can be safe on that dude, look im going to give out some spoilers for The Dunk and Egg series and say that we are going to watch how Dunk after growing up thinking the Targaryen were the good guys and the actual social estructure set in place by them was for the betterment of the smallfolk, he comes to the realization that its misogynistic and it needs to be changed completely when meeting Tanselle.
      After been teached and had his eyes opened by her to the injustices and the benefits he posses thanks to his gender, he would then come to question himself if the "good guys" really won on the first blackfyre rebellion, doubts that will only increase after discovering how the royal family are a bunch of violent losers (Aerion/Daeron/possible Maekar by been an indiferent bad father) a realization that will only increase after the only redeemable member is killed by his own brother (Baelor is going to support Dunk because he is also going to say that his family sucks. Egg is also going to share this inner uncertainty an his desire to not grow to become like the rest of his family is why he is going to follow Dunk on his journey. So long story short, the whole theme of the series is going to be very profound and instead of showing the struggle of the smallfolk in a medieval set up, it will be change to make the audience see that a patriatchal society doesnt work.
      Finally the Blackfyre are going to look like this awesome open minded rebels who got defeted by lucky and inept Targaryens o and BTW it would all have been a misunderstanding

      I don't think the blackfyres are going to appear on the show just yet. This first season is telling the story of The Hedge Knight. The blackfyres or their rebellions did not exist in the Canon when that novella was written.

      Spoiler Alert...
      The Blackfyres ARE stupid in "The Mystery Knight".
      You do get some sympathy for them via Ser Eustace in "The Sworn Sword".

    For me there's an elephant in the room for Knight of the Seven Kingdoms that not enough people mention: George starting another Tv series based on a series of books he hasn't finished yet. She-Wovles of Winterfell is coming soon.... rrr.right bro's?

    • @9xprincess
      @9xprincess Месяц назад

      Yes!! This is a major issue that the Dunk and Egg stories are not finished yet, theres much that could be left for artistic interpretation if the show catches up to the books.

    • @Canadish
      @Canadish Месяц назад

      Given we only have 3 short stories as well. It isn't like a whole book of GoT. You could do the whole series in one season if you really rushed it, 1 season per book would be dragging it out.

      @@9xprincessthat in itself would be fine if the showrunners can be trusted fill in the blanks in a way that feels like it makes it sense.

    I’m super worried mainly because I hold the Dunk and Egg stories so dearly. There shouldn’t be anything for them to outright change from page to screen, but knowing this team…”WHITE WALKERS AND AEGONS DREAM!!!” Is imminent in all projects

      God the way they have made the white walkers plot into something Insufferable is incredible but in all honesty it would be that bad if season 8 didn't exist.

    I’ll still watch it but I’m not excited. HOTD’s tepid season 2 in combination with George RR Martin not being happy with how his works are being adapted leaves me no longer excited to see any more adaptations.
    I just want Winds of Winter, nothing else really is that big of a deal for me IMO

      I agree, however slow they are written: the books are the real deal after HOTD S2.

    I'm not interested in the show at all. I don't like the casting. Part of the reason why the story is so good is Dunk's feelings and inner thoughts about things. We're not gonna get an inner monolog. Plus, I already read it. Why would I care?

  • @twiss9341
    @twiss9341 Месяц назад +3

    We live in the timeline where they screwed up Star Wars and GoT season 8. HOTD got weird in Season 2. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms being good would be an outlier, albeit a very welcome one

    Yeah... with House of the Dragon's wheels already falling off in the second season, I'm not too feeling too excited at the moment about investing time into *another* ASOIAF spinoff.

    I would love to see more members of the Targaryen family, especially the female members such as Queen Myriah Martell, the deceased Dyanna Dayne, Princesses Daella, Rhae, and Daenora, as well as Kiera of Tyrosh. I would like to see a bit of the court politics such as the lingering tension between the pro-Dornish and anti-Dornish factions at court and aftermath of the Blackfrye Rebellions. But yes, it such be kept on the two main characters and the common people.

  • @sramspoker

    I am interested in the more episodic nature of the Dunk and Egg stories. They've basically got three from George. I think most of the stories could be knocked out in one or two episodes. You could have a bit of an over arching story involving the Blackfyres, but I'm hoping they keep the episodic nature, especially starting out. Just have a series of stories of the people Dunk and Egg meet in their adventures, which would be great for slow burn character development of its two main leads, and it could even lead to more serialization as the show goes on with returning characters that might be fan favorties. I would also hope they bring in a lot of hot talented writers and tell them, "Right, you get one episode, give us a story in Westeros we'd never otherwise see." It's an old fashioned way of making a show, but I think we could use a bit of the old school.

    I am currently in the middle of reading a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and I must say that I love the banter between Dunk & Egg. Ultimately I don't mind if they make a connection to GOT or HOTD I mean we are dealing with the decendents of Rheanera and Deamon so there is a Blood line connection but the story should remain on the adventures of Dunk & Egg. should be a clear book to show adaptation

  • @guichogf5636
    @guichogf5636 Месяц назад

    I hope they don't turn Dunk the Lunk into Dunk the Hunk and try shipping him with a female character. Dunk is supposed to be an accidental hero, the purest character in all of the books, my favorite character in this universe. Egg is the perfect counterpart to Dunk, and Dunk is perfect in contrast to Egg. It works so well. But I am afraid they are going to go all in on connecting this story to Aegon the Conqueror, House of the Dragon and GOT. HOTD seems hell bent on making us remember the disaster of Seasons 7 and 8 of GOT and justifying how it ended. I hope Dunk and Egg doesn't try to cover the plot holes in HOTD and GOT. The three stories we have are strong and stand on their own. The only connections to GOT should be Maester Aemon, brother of Egg, Bloodraven aka the 3 eyed crow and maybe a reference to Walder Frey being a little snot. Maybe we will eventually get the backstory to how Brienne found Dunk's shield in the armory of her House. I hope they do the Blackfyres justice! But I fear the network is only looking for ratings, a show people will watch when it's released, not an enduring classic that people would watch for decades. There are no big battles, no dragons, just some one on one combats, jousts and a battle by seven. I bet the network will want to sex it up to fit into their "brand" of the universe.

    They already schit the bed in the original show. They lost me completely when season 2 of hotd was reduced to an anticlimactic 8 episodes. Im not wasting my time on game of thrones anymore. I have a small library to read through, ill do that instead.

    To be any good KOT7K will have to rely on good story telling, dialogue and character development which has been a huge stumbling block for HBO interpreting the original material. This time they can't rely on CGI spectacles like dragons to provide interest for the viewer. Although I can hold a small amount of hope that this will be good I still harbor no confidence that they can pull it off.

    I don’t think there is enough material for a tv show. Our three stories are not very long, I think each story could be squeezed into hour forty five minute episodes. And you know I rather not have another minute of Westeros tv show and get any bit of writing out of George. Also I blame George for bad shows. Either finish a project or don’t green light a tv show that will pass the material

  • @ChildOfTheFlower

    Isn't the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms also an unfinished series that has 6-9 short stories left and George spaces it out by 10 years a book? I'm sure the 3 seasons will be amazing within the 10 years they are out.

    • @adrianshantz5740
      @adrianshantz5740 Месяц назад +1

      The thing is that Dunk and Egg is very episodic compared to ASOIAF or F&B, so it isn't as big a deal that the series is unfinished when each novella is like a story in it's own right

  • @acidtwin
    @acidtwin Месяц назад

    You should be worried. It won't be good - the writing will once again fail the production (which is top notch, for the most part).
    HODS1 was really poor, way too Hollywood and standardized writing.
