My mum was born in this town, no wonder I was born and grew up in Sydney😁. She moved out as soon as she could, married my dad from Adelaide and they moved to NSW. So many churches.................reminds me of my time in the US. No wonder it never moved on.

You overlooked the most important point about Millicent - it hasn’t changed in 20+ years. It’s the exactly the same, the same perfectly manicured gardens and immaculate parklands and playgrounds, the same breathtaking scenery to the horizon, the same friendly and welcoming country people. It would be great to come home to that after 20 years away.
When I return to Melbourne after a week away I almost don’t recognise the place. My childhood homes and playgrounds have been bulldozed and replaced with high-rise apartments, carparks and streets crowded with speed humps and parked cars and of course endless traffic 24-7. Melbourne is a crowded hellscape of a place filled with surveillance cameras and signs threatening to prosecute for the slightest infringement.
I doubt the people of Millicent even know how fortunate they are to live there.
