And those deleted scenes actually would have given us the feeling that Obi-Wan and Anakin actually had a brotherly relationship. But that's just my humble opinion.
+TheRealBeatMaster More people need to realize this, Hayden was actually really good at his physical acting it's just that his dialogue delivery was horrible
+TheRealBeatMaster One of the only movies i prefer to watch in german these days because the german dub for anakin is better than the original (voice) acting. It makes it soooo much easier to watch the movie
The scene where Padmé and Anakin stare out the windows is one of the most powerful moments in the film, in my opinion. Both are uncertain and fearful of what will happen to them and their relationship next. It's a very deep, emotional scene that required no dialog to be great.
+Jace Fincham Aye, I totally agree! And since most of the dialoges between Anakin and Padme were so poorly written (Like, nobody would talk like that. Nobody), I like it even more. It carries so much more feelings than their words ever had.
Fun Fact: The scene where Anakin murders the younglings wasn't scripted, but Hayden Christensen started killing children and the camera was recording the whole time
Yep Copy tht.. fk the Haters..when GL made the First Saga he didn't have the Sequels Planned out so what if it doesnt line up to the decimal.. its close enough & enjoyable.. the lightsaber batles were the best of all Six so its even worth a rewatch every cppl years..haha
If you rearrange the letters in the word Sith you'll get a different word that sum up what this movie was gonna be...Tshi. Which is Chinese for disappointed in the cooking of the duck meat.
+Hector Meneses (radiohm3) I also went to /watch?v=HLfGh2b_me0 and counted 10 head turns (0:06, 0:24, 0:30, 0:55, 1:16, 1:50, 2:35, 2:49, 3:17, 3:49) but only 4 are evil indeed.
+lastdragon55 Not gonna lie, sometimes it just feels like denial. I mean i'm not someone who hates on the prequels, I can admit there are good moments. But as a whole, the movies are pretty bad.
lastdragon55 You wouldn't be the first. I will admit the movie has some good moments. But that' really all I can give it. As a whole, the movie just isn't that good in my eyes. There are alot of things that are wrong with it. And since it's part of a trilogy, that only hurts it more because I can't just analyze ROTS by itself.
Jared Allen It is viewed as the best amongst the prequels. But the prequels as a whole really aren't that good. So the best in a series that wasn't that good. Still doesn't do much.
Hayden was a very bad choice to play Anakin, since the character wasn't supposed to be a weird version of Luke, he was supposed to be a powerful giant warrior (the name comes from the giants of the Bible) with tendency to violence and who got lost in his path and was seduce by the dark side due to either a bitter tragedy or a misunderstood belief in the end justifying the means. George forgot what Vader was all about in his prequels.
@@robertmarquez2767 George Lucas imagined it all, he knows how it should have been. You basically try to say that you know better than the original creator that gave this whole idea lol.
Anakin's real reason for turning: he didn't like how the Republic was handling themselves. The way jedi are trained are no different from how stormtroopers are trained. He feared once they defeated the Sith, they would slowly become the sith. So Anakin turned not to become evil for evil's sake, but to create a compromise between both sides. He thought he could redefine the Sith and settle the war, while also being an example for the Republic, but Palpatine's grip on him was so tight, his goal was harder to reach. So when he found Luke, he saw a way out of that grip. He could team up with his son to kill the sith and create a new order, but unfortunately he died. Now because of crap writing, people think he's just a whiny brat who just wants to be evil. DAMMIT GEORGE!
+K Damon yeah dude also how Windu was a total hypocrite and isn't merciful no matter what. Even though Palpatine was a sith, a true jedi would spare him. And if he was spared the people would find out he was a sith lord. Man the whole series would have turned out differently if Obi Wan fought Palpatine instead.
***** he could, but even if he left, he still has that ambition to make a difference eating away at him. If he left, nothing would change. He believed once the Republic defeats the Senate, they'll abuse their power, and he really wanted to keep that from happening.
Matt Rasp if you think the last 4 episodes of the clone wars are better than any Star Wars movie then you are a little kid who’s probably only seen the originals once
Joe Kerr I understand that but he was saying the last 4 episodes of the clone wars is the best Star Wars content we’ve ever gotten and that’s just dumb revenge of the Sith is amazing and I can see why people would put that number 1
+Vinny Banana The Order 66 scene is rubbish and comes out of nowhere. The whole point is to make it sudden so the Jedi don't see it. Yep, the Jedi don't see it, the people that have reactions so quick it's like they can see parts of the future. There's no build up for the Order 66 part.
I'm not saying he can't act, but these films had such terrible dialogue and such terrible direction not even Jackson could turn in a solid performance.
"Anakin is easy to manipulate." Why is it hard to believe that Palpatine is a genius and a master of deception? He was the one orchestrating a galaxy-spanning war, went from senator to supreme chancellor with little opposition and gained complete control of the government, and couldn't even be sensed by Yoda. You really think manipulating one person would be difficult for him?
Who says we're doubting his manipulation skills, we're just saying that anakin Skywalker could be convinced to commit genocide if you promised him dessert after he ate dinner, which he could
The thing is, Palpatine led the war from both aides for more than one movie. He only manipulated Anakin for one movie. I think that’s why it pales in comparison to his other genius feats. Nonetheless it’s still interesting and he was one of the best parts of the Prequel
Eternal Branches hmmm kinda but also- if you watch clone wars you can see him building a relationship with Annikan and growing trust between them- one quote from the movie is after he was sent to naboo palpatine says “so they’ve finally given you an assignment etc” it’s honestly the small stuff that got planted throughout the earlier movies that made it easier for palpatine to be able to seem like a trustworthy mentor and someone that was genuinely wanting to help him in rots- especially after the same thing happened with his mother I would be paranoid too if history was about to repeat itself and I was going to lose the love of my life.
+Marcus Persson What the movie does well, it does really well (The battle on Mustafar, the space battle at the start, Ewen McGregor) but what it does poorly it does piss poorly (Dialogue, motivation, a natural transition into the later films).
Oh, and one more thing: You're complaining that Jar Jar is back... When he has NO dialogue and he's only there for 2 seconds while walking slowly forward with his head down. He was literally ONLY there because of the connection he had to Padme from the previous movies. Come on. Now you're just trying too hard.
Evelina999 Not really. Actually, in my eyes, he's not that bad of a character. He does annoy me at times, yes, but he did get a few chuckles out of me. And I'm gonna be honest, you can't complain about a character being in a movie when he's barely there and for an admittedly logical reason and he gets no dialogue whatsoever in a "blink-and-you-miss-it" cameo. Sorry, but no. This is an illogical complaint.
+Andrew D. Royappa Yeah they didn't actually try to hide anything. It was supposed to be more of a surprise to the characters than it was to the audience. That reveal could have been executed than it was though.
+Andrew D. Royappa Am I the only one who didn't know Palpatine was the emperor? I had forgotten episode I and II by the time I saw this one. It actually made the movie cooler. I was like "WTF???!!!"
+Andrew D. Royappa It was "worst" for me, I didn't even know Anakin was Darth vader, I only saw episode II and parts of episode I before, but I knew the existence of darth vader (he was so cool and mysterious back then) and many classic scenes because of parodies and other mentions. My mind was blown when Anakin turned into Darth Vader "OHHH so this is what this trilogy is about and it is supposed to be before the other episodes, that's why they are IV, V and VI depite being made before!!!" Happily I can say that revelation felt just like the "Luke, I'm your father" scene for the people that first saw the originals.
+Lapis Riolazuli I couldn't disagree more. Grievous was a meaningless, disposable villain who randomly appeared in the movie, received almost no meaningful screen time or development, and then died completely anticlimactically following twenty minutes of pointless CGI fireworks, lizard chases, and lightsaber twirling. His only purpose in the movie was to pad the running time, give Obi-Wan a reason to be missing when Anakin murdered all of the Jedi, and sell action figures. Which is sad, because in The Clone Wars cartoon series, he's actually a pretty cool villain. Sadly, none of that came across in the movie, where his whole appearance pretty much boiled down to "Who is this guy again?" and "Oh well, doesn't matter, he's dead". So basically, he was a CGI version of Count Dooku.
+SadisticBlessings General Grievous was obviously a rushed character in the movie. He has a much better character development and back story in the expanded universe- but hey that shit isn't canon now I guess
@@jeuryrabassa9534 not *every* way, like I mean don't lie to yourself and say Attack of the Clones is better then The Force Awakens, cause that just ain't true
Anakin: So you're the Sith Lord. Palpatine: Well, it's about time you figured it out! I've been dropping hints like crazy! Anakin: I am a slow learner...
Jar Jar: Oh, heesa not the lord of da Sith... Meesa da lord of da Sith! Meesa Darth Jar Jar! And yousa in big doo doo dis ti-! AHHH! Mace Windu: Enough is enough! I've had it with these ************' Sith in this ************' Senate!
+Mark Meason Darth Maul didn't even try to slash him. That Sith arrogance and overconfidence doesn't really help you, even if you are the stronger warrior. Plus, Obi-Wan was in that first duel. He could probably anticipate what someone would do in Anakin's place and counter it, because it's what he would've done and what he did before. (If that makes sense)
I actually thought that a few of the scenes they cut out were pretty good. Hey showed the friendship between Anakin and Obi-Wan and added some of that "heart" that haters are constantly bitching about.
How stupid Anakin was and he didn't understood that Palpatine was a Sith lord at the opera scene? imagine a Prime Minister saying to you: "I've read a really interesting book...It's called Mein Kampf"
+Buzz Light year To Infinity and Beyond The prequals tell an interesting & compelling story -- they just don't always execute on the performance. For film buffs who are interested in the nuts & bolts of how movies are made, I'm sure that the prequals are unbearable. For the rest of us who are simply interested in being told a story, the prequals are actually pretty fun. I think that the Star Wars prequals are a lot like crocs. The internet hates them mostly just because it's cool to hate them.
+Yoda on DMT The story was weak (and barely added anything to the original trilogy) and all of Anakin's acting was bad, Jar Jar. The Phantom Menace was horrible, the Clone Wars were ok, same with Revenge of the Sith. They weren't necessarily bad, just weak in many different aspects that made fans of the originals come to hate it because of how amazing the original trilogy was.
+Yoda on DMT i could not sit through any of the star wars movies when i was younger even the first 3 got ruined by my age and i have not seen them sense
+Zohaib Haider Unfortunately watching them from episode 1 also destroyed the best twist in the whole trilogy for you. You have seen The Empire Strikes Back I presume, so you know what one I'm talking about.
+angus7021 He's forced to act bad by Lucas. There are a lot of behind the scenes shots where he was delivering an honestly natural and good performance...until Lucas forced him to ham it up and whine. Lucas's the devil here, but Christensen paid for Lucas' mistakes with his entire career.
+angus7021 I agree his acting was actually pretty good, considering the dialogue that he had to work with. Most of the bad things about his character were Lucas's fault, not hayden's.
+GunbladeXBustersword just youtube or google star wars 3 behind the scenes. I believe theres a youtuber that posted all the behind the scenes extras for every movie.
Yeah! It's kind of bad he's getting so much hate for it! When I think of my favorite actors I honestly don't think any actors could've made it much better
+Mikkloud~AMVs Exactly, everyone always gives him too much hate. This is the real reason he turned to the dark side. Think of all the great actors in these movies, Samuel Jackson, Natalie Portman, Liam Neeson, Christopher Lee, etc. and they all just seem lifeless most of the time. But since everyone has their own expectations of Anakin, which this script would never deliver, he bears all the blame.
+Slippy Toad hard to have much of a reaction when the character you are playing doesn't have a personality, you only have 5 feet of room to work with and it's all in front of a green screen so you have no real reference to what your character is supposed to see :P
***** I enjoyed the prequels, but sometimes the dialogues felt too long. I know prequels have to explain how the universe got to that point, so they will of course have the focus on many characters and are limited by the events in the following movies. I just got lost around five times because I couldn't keep up with the dialogue. I think the bigger events are better suited to actions. But I am not saying the original trilogy did it well; there was also some talking I did not like, and sometimes the action felt forced.
+DoctaDaKing I completely agree. That silent scene reflected Anakin's internal conflict far more than the dialogue did. Unfortunately it is overshadowed by the rest.
i think everyone just jumped on the "hate episode 1-3" bandwagon. I loved all 3 movies, even Jar Jar. Adult Anikan was a bad actor, that's my only complaint.
@@carrielange2692 Actually, I thought Hayden Christensen was a perfect Anakin.😮 There's nothing he could do about the bad script but he saved it, with his performance in episode. His facial expressions are just On Point in that movie. I'm serious go back and watch it, he does a fine job all things considered.👍
I came here to say this. I stood in like for like 7 hours to see Attack of the Clones when I was in high school and I loved it! It wasn’t until I was in college and went to see Revenge of the Sith with some friends that I realized that people didn’t like the movies. I realize that they all have plenty of faults, but I genuinely enjoyed all of them. 🤷♀️
I don't understand how this part of the video was clever. It wasn't supposed to be surprising that Palpatine was the Emperor. It wasn't supposed to be a twist. In fact, the name Palpatine was given as the Emperor's name in the New Hope novelisation and many other times before the prequels.
Yeah, it was never meant as a surprise, especially not at that point, it was obvious at that point. That would be like saying Anakin turning out to be Darth Vader was supposed to be a surprise. And yeah, the Name Imperator Palpatine was was already established. So it was pretty clear who he was in the first movie already.
How this part of the video was clever: the guy that did 4 head turns = lots of turning. What does all that head turning does to your neck? Maybe... some twisting? A twist?
+Jay Parikh Were those R2-beep SFX actually on the Bluray extra scene, or did ScreenJunkies do that for comic-effect? 'Cause that shit was hilarious! Almost as cringe as Jar Jar, lol.
"Revenge of the Sith: It's a legitimately good movie, but because it's a prequel, we have to shit all over it so we don't piss off the insecure manbaby fanboys. So do the exact opposite of what you do when watching the original trilogy, and focus on the bad things while ignoring all the awesome stuff."
***** The originals don't hold up either. The original is well executed, but the dialogue, delivery and acting is just plain bad. The story is unoriginal and the plot is ridiculous.
***** The whole 'giant, planet-destroying space laser' thing is ridiculous. Shooting two torpedoes down a vent (which would force them away) and they manage to then somehow travel through kilometres of vents (which apparently are just a straight line) and that blows up the entire space station. The all-round incompetence of the Empire. Obi-Wan and Vader prod at each with lightsabres in A New Hope like they're fencing rapiers, then in Empire Strikes Back Luke and Vader are flailing around like they're broadswords. The rebels fly off the moon, round the planet of Yavin and reach the Death Star is less time than it takes the Death Star to move around into view of the moon (which was stated to be half an hour). How ridiculously easy it is for them to rescue Leia and then escape. The acting also improved in the prequels as they went along. All anybody does is focus on a few bad lines and ignore anything done well.
It's literally the same actor from ROTJ... You were supposed to know who he was the moment you first saw him in TPM. This was not supposed to be a twist.
+avinotion It's not the CGI bubbles, there could be a freaking puppet show going on and the scene would still be great. It's what Palpatine says, the way he says it and the entire atmosphere of the scene that makes it great, true seduction of the dark-side. If you watch the prequels just to point out all the CGI that you see, focusing only to that, then it is as much your fault as the film-makers that you don't enjoy these films.
+Damian Darkholme The CGI bubbles represent an egg and the tadpole like things swimming inside of it represent sperm because Palpatine is talking about how Darth Plagueis used the force to create life (aka Plagueis created Anakin).
While i hayden christensens dialogue was shit, the guy had the perfect face for the part, and once they got a real voice actor into the clone wars he was okay.
If you watch his scenes without audio and just focus on his body language, he's actually great. He can't deliver lines well, but he can convey an awful lot just through stance and movement.
@@kaidenbraught4573 isn't it illogical to say that something is "best" since there is no objective and undisputable way to prove that it is? Best has always been a popularity contest, and dissenting opinion usually get suppressed which makes it harder to de-throne the favorite.
Geoff Janes the funny thing is, the show based off the prequels is the good one and the show based off the OG trilogy is the bad one (at least in my opinion)
Am I the only one who kinda liked Anakin at some point? I mean, don't get me wrong, he is a selfrighteous little shit and him killing the children definitely came out of nowhere (however that was more the fault of a bad skript), but especially when it comes to his relationship to Obi-Wan, the way he was always teasing and talking back at him and him being a cheeky little bastard... I kinda liked that.
+Kirill Burtsev Remember every time when we hated Mark Hamil. When he was a winy shit brat. Well in those moments someone's there to tell him "... like your father". He was meant to be like that. And Hayden Christensen CAN act. He was in a lot of movies where he made awesome performances.
It’s probably the only scene that works in the entire trilogy between Anakin and Padme. And it’s when both of them aren’t sharing the same shot, uttering a word of dialogue and they’re in 2 entirely different locations.
2:57 I loved that scene between padme and anakin.. Sometimes you don't need to use words to tell a story (something George doesnt tend to acknowledge) but this was a powerful moment
Yeah they weren't that bad. Except for episode 2. I HATED EPISODE 2. They were not as good as the originals or the new series but they were ok. I really liked episode 3.
for me they werent that bad just all 3 films leed to a very very obvious conclusion but it was done very well but we all knew it was comming so no surprises what so ever
The dialogue in the movies was _hideously_ clunky. Overly stuffed CGI got in the way of the story instead of serving it. The acting was wooden across the board. I could not identify with any of the characters as the movies never gave me a reason to. In fact, I would be hard put to describe the personality of any of the main characters. Happy? Broken? Brave? Narcissistic? Well, with one exception. Jar Jar Binks, naturally. The words, _'excrutiatingly stupid', 'migraine'_ and _'why!?'_ come to mind when I think of that thing.
I will say tho, that moment when the helmet closes over the mask and you hear the breathing for the first time, that was pretty damn epic. Also the closing two minutes of the film when they're looking at the sunsets on Tatooine.
@@calebmurphy9406 I wouldn't say 'moron', but those moments were wholly uninspiring. George Lucas should have hired someone else to manage the creation of the Prequels.
AniLionTV Episode III is not good because it's better than the first two of the prequels. Even looking at it from a stand-alone point, it's still a bad movie.
+TheMarkSasuke64 Just because it's a Prequel doesn't make it the same as the others. RotJ is probably the weakest of the Originals, but no one complains about it.
+Alex Moore I don't know; I feel like a lot of younger people who grew up with the films do like them, so there isn't as much peer pressure in that group to just go along with the hate. And for older fans, it's hard for me to look at the prequels and say that people don't hate them for good reason. That's not to say that there's anything wrong with loving them, but I don't think that many people hate them just because others do.
+ja8ames I have a buddy who has never watched Star Wars at all. I let him borrow them all and he liked the prequels more than the originals. He said he liked the story better and I kinda have to agree.
Mmmmm not necessarily. I grew up with the prequels and, while I don't hate them as much as I could, I really do not like them. There are many, MANY things that the prequels did wrong that I discovered on my own.
Your og point is probably true, ppl bandwagon heavily. But...these movies offer nothing more than to set up the original trilogy. They don't stand on their own because frankly they were nothing more than a precursor. I still will never understand why they chose to start these movies with Anakin as a child, yet show no signs of his coming evil til the last 45min of the last film. I would say the battles are impressive, but its all fake. I'm not saying I want them to go back to using stop motion like they did for the AT AT's in Ep V but they could have been far more original. Remember these movies were coming out around the same time as the LOTR, a trilogy that showed how amazing practical sets and minatures were, this is something George knew. Yet he wanted the best tech and he knew the studios would fork over the cash. It's really a shame, if you take out the bad writing/actors you have an okay plot
+John Werner Because of the fight scenes, it was the darkest film out of the saga, it showed what we wanted to see (Anakin turning to the Dark Side) Also, the emotions were pretty strong in some of the scenes.
1. Sure The Force Awakens was derivative, but it doesn't make it a bad movie. Unoriginality has no effect on good acting, cinematography, writing, etc. Good filmmaking mainly comes from execution. The Purge was an original movie, but poor writing and execution ruined it. Really the only flaw in The Force Awakens in its derivativeness was Death Star III. 2. Okay, it was pretty depressing to see Han Solo die, but you have to remember that Harrison Ford is 73-years-old. And he's always wanted the character to die for years. It's best for Harrison Ford to move on from Star Wars.
I wasn't saying that Force Awakens was bad because of its borrowed elements, I simply meant that I like Revenge of the Sith more for its more original ones while still feeling like Star Wars. And yes, I know Ford wanted Han wanted to die, I just wish the way he went out had less to do with a lightsaber.
Hey! That window scene was one of the only times I actually felt emotions for these characters! It was one of the rare times everyone shut up and let the atmosphere do the work!
+Masterxl MVs Agreed. One of the biggest problems with these movies is that everybody has dialogue. Hell, it would have worked better if this was a silent movie trilogy.
Me too. Gives me chills every time. It's like they both know shit is about to go down and with the music you can almost feel Anakin being torn in thought.
I have a good feeling the new movie's gonna have much better fights, if the rumors of Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian choreographing the fight scenes are true.
+William Jakespeare 20 years later, aboard Death Star: Darth Vader: "Obi-Wan?" while crossing lightsaber with his old master. Obi-Wan: "Yes?" Darth Vader: "Remember when we fought last time, on top of droids on the river of lava?" Obi-Wan: "Oh yeah." Darth Vader: "..." Obi-Wan: "..." Darth Vader: "... we got so old..."
People haven't realised that obiwan won the duel with anakin simply because he learned from the mistake of darth maul of not using the high ground as advantage?
It just seems more likely they forgot how Kenobi won, and needed some way for Kenobi to win in an emotionally pleasing way. One that didn't make Vader seem like a chump, but just not in total control of his emotions. I personally would have liked to have seen Vader going ballistic at the end, starting to swing wildly as he loses total control of his emotions, and Kenobi calmly defends until Vader makes a minor mistake. It would have made more sense to me, because Kenobi seems afraid(and on the defensive) in the original as he's fighting Vader.
So the sick ass darth maul didnt know that you shouldnt just stand and do nothing when someone jumps over you from the low ground? That sounds like such a stretch
No guys, Darth Maul simply adopted the high ground. Obi Wan was born into it, molded by it. By the time Obi Wan had first touched the low ground, he was already a man.
Anakin: You are so... beautiful. Padmé: It's only because I'm so in love. Anakin: No, it's because I'm so in love with you. Padmé: So love has blinded you? Anakin: [laughs] Well, that's not exactly what I meant. Padmé: But it's probably true. It's gold!
Second best is a bit of a stretch. A new hope is still better. Its just Episode 2 was so awful that people started to associate its shittiness with the other prequels.
I think these are just people who expected the prequels to be similar to the OT. They wanted to relive their childhood and got a completly new story, that they didn't understand in the first place so they started hating it. Propably the same people, who enjoyed the force awakens.
Staring out of the windows was actually one of the more emotional scenes, I thought...
And those deleted scenes actually would have given us the feeling that Obi-Wan and Anakin actually had a brotherly relationship. But that's just my humble opinion.

Here is a fact:
Hayden & Ewan were two awesome actors lost in a doomed fight against a weeeird script.
Agreed
Ewan did pretty well TBF.
Honestly Ewan can't do much wrong
Hayden was a very bad choice to play Anakin, since the character wasn't supposed to be a weird version of Luke, he was supposed to be a powerful giant warrior (the name comes from the giants of the Bible) with tendency to violence and who got lost in his path and was seduce by the dark side due to either a bitter tragedy or a misunderstood belief in the end justifying the means. George forgot what Vader was all about in his prequels.
@@robertmarquez2767 George Lucas imagined it all, he knows how it should have been. You basically try to say that you know better than the original creator that gave this whole idea lol.

That was one of the big things Episode 7 lacked (although the crashed star ships on Jakku were awesome)
Yeah, I have to admit that's true!
Me too!
+Alexandru Ionescu no he meant like a new republic or resistance
+Alexandru Ionescu fellow Romanian !
+K Damon yeah dude also how Windu was a total hypocrite and isn't merciful no matter what. Even though Palpatine was a sith, a true jedi would spare him. And if he was spared the people would find out he was a sith lord. Man the whole series would have turned out differently if Obi Wan fought Palpatine instead.
good point. Do you think Anakin would side with Obi Wan over Palpatine?
*****
he could, but even if he left, he still has that ambition to make a difference eating away at him. If he left, nothing would change. He believed once the Republic defeats the Senate, they'll abuse their power, and he really wanted to keep that from happening.
Plot twist: Revenge of the sith is actually the holy grail

look at his acting from 2-3. watch shattered glass. the guy can act.
I'm not saying he can't act, but these films had such terrible dialogue and such terrible direction not even Jackson could turn in a solid performance.
cheezemonkeyeater I understand but come one man, the original trilogy had some gut retching moments

Royappa It was "worst" for me, I didn't even know Anakin was Darth vader, I only saw episode II and parts of episode I before, but I knew the existence of darth vader (he was so cool and mysterious back then) and many classic scenes because of parodies and other mentions. My mind was blown when Anakin turned into Darth Vader
"OHHH so this is what this trilogy is about and it is supposed to be before the other episodes, that's why they are IV, V and VI depite being made before!!!"
Happily I can say that revelation felt just like the "Luke, I'm your father" scene for the people that first saw the originals.
Sorry, but the General Grievous fight scene was awesome
It was and grievous I thought was one of the coolest villans in star wars, I just wish he got more screen time
+Lapis Riolazuli I couldn't disagree more.
+SadisticBlessings well yes he wasn't in the movie much but he does have a long and interesting back story, its just not shown in the film
+SadisticBlessings General Grievous was obviously a rushed character in the movie. He has a much better character development and back story in the expanded universe- but hey that shit isn't canon now I guess
+Andrew Nievera there is a lot of him in the Clone Wars TV series.

+Mikkloud~AMVs No one was good in those movies. Except Ray Rark.
Okay, that window scene is actually really good though. Out of all the shitty dialogue heavy scenes, that one really leaves an impact
Yes, I think the movies should have had more physical reactions than talking.
+Slippy Toad hard to have much of a reaction when the character you are playing doesn't have a personality, you only have 5 feet of room to work with and it's all in front of a green screen so you have no real reference to what your character is supposed to see :P
+DoctaDaKing The leaves are falling.

"Not the the guy who does 4 Evil head turns in 1 conversation?!!! What a twist." I love this so much
I don't understand how this part of the video was clever.
Ian McDiarmid played the emperor in episode VI, as well as senator Palpatine in ep I II and III, his identity was never meant to be a surprise
How this part of the video was clever: the guy that did 4 head turns = lots of turning. What does all that head turning does to your neck? Maybe... some twisting? A twist?
actually the precuel movies tried to do a twist, but it doesn't have any sense anyway.

+Jay Parikh the sad part of it is that it's acting feel more natural there than in the actaul movie :D
+Jay Parikh I actually liked the deleted scene... no joke
+Jay Parikh Were those R2-beep SFX actually on the Bluray extra scene, or did ScreenJunkies do that for comic-effect? 'Cause that shit was hilarious! Almost as cringe as Jar Jar, lol.
"Revenge of the Sith:
It's a legitimately good movie, but because it's a prequel, we have to shit all over it so we don't piss off the insecure manbaby fanboys. So do the exact opposite of what you do when watching the original trilogy, and focus on the bad things while ignoring all the awesome stuff."
Consider that nerve touched...
Michael A. Somewhat, yes. The double standards people hold with the two trilogies annoys me a fair bit.
Hopefully now everyone can direct their hatreds to the sequels which, judging by ep 7, truly deserve them - unlike the prequels
I never realized Palpatine being the sith lord was a twist.
It wasnt, it was very obvious youre just waiting for the jedi to find out
Really? I grew up with Clone Wars and it was obvious to the point where I thought you were supposed to know
It's literally the same actor from ROTJ... You were supposed to know who he was the moment you first saw him in TPM. This was not supposed to be a twist.
It was very obvious. In the original title crawl for A New Hope it says "Emperor Palpatine".
I think everyone knew that palpatine was the sith lord, the Jedi however did not so it's more so for dramatic irony
Did anyone lose it on the "even if that something is a lizard chasing a robot on a unicycle?"
Ya I did
Me lol
Yep XD
every time someone calls Grevious a droid or a robot I just want to kill them
.
YOU DARE SLANDER THE OPERA HOUSE SCENE. WHERE THE CHARACTER OF PALPATINE REACHES ITS PEAK.
YOU DARE
FOOLS
+Traviltar oooooohhhh CGI
+avinotion It's not the CGI bubbles, there could be a freaking puppet show going on and the scene would still be great. It's what Palpatine says, the way he says it and the entire atmosphere of the scene that makes it great, true seduction of the dark-side. If you watch the prequels just to point out all the CGI that you see, focusing only to that, then it is as much your fault as the film-makers that you don't enjoy these films.
The cgi was unnecessary but the acting in that science was fantastic, palatine was mesmerizing
+Traviltar They will suffer my... click on the dislike button!
+Damian Darkholme The CGI bubbles represent an egg and the tadpole like things swimming inside of it represent sperm because Palpatine is talking about how Darth Plagueis used the force to create life (aka Plagueis created Anakin).
I actually loved this movie though. Anyone else?
I did.
Yeah I enjoyed it.
I loved episodes 1-3 but I grew up on them
my guilty pleasure for life XD
Yes
Am I the only one that actually kinda enjoys the commutes, trade disputes, bubbles (?), sunbathing etc?
ofc not. Prequels are just a rage vent for overexpecting fanboys. And Jar Jar is awesome!
It’s good stuff for those who appreciate a masterpiece
Georgi Georgiev Lol, I don’t actually mind Jar Jar and my little brother loves him so I’m fine with it :)
Yropez I found it kinda boring in the movies
Wade Meservy bruh?
From my point of view you have the LAVA GROUND!

+Blizzic that was epic
Then you're allready lost
+Blizzic #Howitshouldofended

JJ Abrams should have directed the prequels, and George Lucas should have direct people to their seats.
+Ritchie Chavez hahaha that's from red letter media right ? :D
Nice RLM reference
+blacklustersoldier95 yessir it is hahahaha
+Abel Villa (The Cynic) the thing I love most about all of the Star Wars content on RUclips is RLM fans posting Plinkett quotes all over the place.
+Ritchie Chavez *Ba dum Tsssss*
While i hayden christensens dialogue was shit, the guy had the perfect face for the part, and once they got a real voice actor into the clone wars he was okay.
If you watch his scenes without audio and just focus on his body language, he's actually great. He can't deliver lines well, but he can convey an awful lot just through stance and movement.
K IRA What lines from a not well executed script? He is good he had great movies but...
Trust me, his german VA is far worse. Christensen is tolarable compared to him.
watch Shattered Glass
Zebedee Shekelstein he is quite handsome.
“Let me get this straight you think Revenge of the sith is the best Star Wars film?”
Me: “I do, and I’m tired of pretending it’s not”
Woah, it’s not the best, it might be your favorite, but it’s not the best. Rogue One is my favorite, but episode 5 is still the best
Revenge of the Sith was always my favorite. I never even knew it was hated until I came on the Internet
I know that the OT is objectively the best, but I get the most enjoyment out of the prequels. I like them more because the soundtrack and action.
@@kaidenbraught4573 isn't it illogical to say that something is "best" since there is no objective and undisputable way to prove that it is? Best has always been a popularity contest, and dissenting opinion usually get suppressed which makes it harder to de-throne the favorite.
It’s my favourite tied with 9
The Clone Wars show gives this movie so much more emotional weight
Geoff Janes you mean the show has a better emotional weight than the prequels
Especially my boy General Grievous....if not for that chest injury he would have been more boss in this film....
freakin Mace Windu.....
Depends which one. Both are good, and I like to consider both canon.
Geoff Janes the funny thing is, the show based off the prequels is the good one and the show based off the OG trilogy is the bad one (at least in my opinion)
Geoff Janes I know right
Am I the only one who kinda liked Anakin at some point? I mean, don't get me wrong, he is a selfrighteous little shit and him killing the children definitely came out of nowhere (however that was more the fault of a bad skript), but especially when it comes to his relationship to Obi-Wan, the way he was always teasing and talking back at him and him being a cheeky little bastard... I kinda liked that.
The acting was so bad, it is hard to relate to this character and take it seriously.
+Kirill Burtsev Remember every time when we hated Mark Hamil. When he was a winy shit brat. Well in those moments someone's there to tell him "... like your father". He was meant to be like that. And Hayden Christensen CAN act. He was in a lot of movies where he made awesome performances.
KaloTube You might be right, but that fact, unfortunately, doesn't save Star Wars or poor act for that character.
Kirill Burtsev
I don't think it's poor acting. I think it's shit dialogue and poorly written character.
+Itachi Uchiha
Yes. You are the only one who liked Anakin. At ANY point.
Im sorry but the "staring out the window scene" is really powerful and good
Ah, it's alright, and good to a degree.
They had zero chemistry. I don't know how anyone could take that relationship seriously. It was so forced it hurt.
The music and CGI make that scene good.
@@pazuzu66613 Apparently few hundreds milion fans could. Also, just because it wasn't much, doesn't mean there was none.
Tbh better than almost any of the dialogue
The only scene showing subtlety in the entire trilogy.
To be honest I love this movie
same
It's my favourite Star Wars
Ι love the movie .
Me too
Same
Am I the only one who thought the prequels weren't all that bad?
Yeah they weren't that bad. Except for episode 2. I HATED EPISODE 2. They were not as good as the originals or the new series but they were ok. I really liked episode 3.
Yes.
for me they werent that bad just all 3 films leed to a very very obvious conclusion but it was done very well but we all knew it was comming so no surprises what so ever
It's sorta like pizza; even the bad STAR WARS films are still pretty good.
Yeah, the movie definitely had it's charms. I loved it, but they're hilariously not wrong about so many things.
You're a moron.
@@calebmurphy9406 I wouldn't say 'moron', but those moments were wholly uninspiring. George Lucas should have hired someone else to manage the creation of the Prequels.
The best part of Episode III was when it ended.
@@chriswinkler284 same can be said for ep 8.
The most unbelievable moment in this film is Padme brushing her CURLY hair on the balcony and then turning to Anakin with her curls in tact.
Right, you're just hating on Episode III just for the sake of it, and simply because it's part of the Prequels.
Episode III is actually good.
+Batman Jr. You realize the best part of a turd is still a part of a turd, right?
+TheMarkSasuke64 What are you talking about?
AniLionTV Episode III is not good because it's better than the first two of the prequels. Even looking at it from a stand-alone point, it's still a bad movie.
TheMarkSasuke64 Its better then A New Hope and it is good btw
+TheMarkSasuke64 Just because it's a Prequel doesn't make it the same as the others. RotJ is probably the weakest of the Originals, but no one complains about it.
I feel like people mostly these days hate on the prequel trilogy just because other people do too
+Alex Moore I don't know; I feel like a lot of younger people who grew up with the films do like them, so there isn't as much peer pressure in that group to just go along with the hate.
TheAuthority221 Opinions
It's really a shame, if you take out the bad writing/actors you have an okay plot
i am sry but i do realy like the 3rd episode.
Why?
+John Werner Cause its dark and there was lava
+John Werner Because of the fight scenes, it was the darkest film out of the saga, it showed what we wanted to see (Anakin turning to the Dark Side) Also, the emotions were pretty strong in some of the scenes.
+Raheel Shahid the fight scenes suck is was one big cgi fest with spinning laser swords.. And Anakin turning to the dark side was so rushed
+Raheel Shahid also episode 7 is Way darker just in the opening scene
“Performance so robotic, a suit finally caught up to his acting”😂😂IM DYING
Maybe because he plays a conflicted young man who was taught to supress his emotions and can't trust anyone?
@@Сайтамен you do know that this movie is not the first in film history to have characters that are emotionally reserved/stunted?
Am I the only one who thought the the prequels were kinda cool?
Yes.
Na
Yes you are
No!
They are better than episode IV and V
Honestly, I still think this movie is better than The Force Awakens. *Flame Shield Up*
I'm curious, why?
Two reasons. 1. Force Awakens borrowed a lot of its plot from the Original Trilogy. 2. THEY KILLED HAN SOLO!!!
Fair enough criticisms from your point too. Let's just agree to disagree.
Greycobalt
Yep. Anakin's actually pretty intimidating when he shuts his whiny mouth.
+Masterxl MVs So much of that is down to the music though. As bad as the prequels are, John Williams did create some amazing scores for them.
Me too. Gives me chills every time. It's like they both know shit is about to go down and with the music you can almost feel Anakin being torn in thought.
*****

@@muppetallica To leave Jedi order after the war ends.
still like the lava duel though.
+William Jakespeare It was pretty cool
+William Jakespeare It was way too over the top. Darth Maul fight is still the best prequel fight.
I have a good feeling the new movie's gonna have much better fights, if the rumors of Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian choreographing the fight scenes are true.
+William Jakespeare
20 years later, aboard Death Star:
Darth Vader: "Obi-Wan?" while crossing lightsaber with his old master.
Obi-Wan: "Yes?"
Darth Vader: "Remember when we fought last time, on top of droids on the river of lava?"
Obi-Wan: "Oh yeah."
Darth Vader: "..."
Obi-Wan: "..."
Darth Vader: "... we got so old..."
+catxborsuq1 hahaha yeah so true
still a better love story than twilight
are you sure?
xxdragonloverxx potterhead Not by much though.
say: "Anakin, you're breaking my heart!" ten times and you'll see.😈
But Twilight is crap, real crap. I admit that.
Yup
People haven't realised that obiwan won the duel with anakin simply because he learned from the mistake of darth maul of not using the high ground as advantage?
Maybe, but if Maul almost died from that, how does Obi manage fine?
I understood that reference

"Staring at the window scene" is one of the best scenes by its suspense.
Дмитрий Громадский it’s actually very artfully done.
I dont think you understand suspense
Suspense? Of what? We already knew what he was going to do, and it lasts well over a minute
RUclips Emperor most horror movies lose their suspense by the second viewing unless they’re fantastic. This scene is so long it becomes boring
@Holiday ITCOTCK
This is a great Star Wars movie. The second best after The Empire Strikes Back. I don't understand the mocking and the hate.
Second best is a bit of a stretch. A new hope is still better. Its just Episode 2 was so awful that people started to associate its shittiness with the other prequels.
@Harrison Ells [Student] No the biggest cinematic disappointment would be episode 1, the Pantom Menace.
Yea totally with this movies dialogue it’s better than A new hope and Return
@Harrison Ells [Student] what about the rise of the Skywalker
I think these are just people who expected the prequels to be similar to the OT. They wanted to relive their childhood and got a completly new story, that they didn't understand in the first place so they started hating it. Propably the same people, who enjoyed the force awakens.
