5:21 'how could they have known which room to throw the flaming motorcycle in' That's actually one of the few things that make sense in this movie, the next scene where everything explodes shows clearly that every room was filled with explosives, it's an ammunition storage facility, every room goes boom
Actually he explains why he does pullups in the jail,it is situated at the front of the palace and he sees them unload the gunpowder there,so he does pull ups to look at palace while not being too obvious, atleast he isn't stupid enough to workout on one meal per week 🤣

But, why place large quantity of TNT on an obvious Administrative building with glass windows and fancy facade. Ammo Storage facilities even at the 18th century much less in the 20th are big bunker type and far away from personnel buildings. Anyway. That was the most positive pitch meeting I've seen. And it's warranted. You don't often see a movie whose plot is as ridiculous as this being so good. It's having your cake and eating it too.
I am really surprised. I generally don't comment about this movie as talking negatively about it gets you called a traitor (not making this up). Imo, it was probably the worst film I have ever watched. Poor acting, poor script, 2D villains, overcasting, etc. But I guess that is what people like these days.
@Wasim Ahmed Me too. Although i thought bahubali 2 was bad, i still went in hoping for a meaningful movie. Going in, i thought it is going to be about aluri's freedom struggle. But you can imagine my disappointment when Ram charan flies over the fence and takes down 10s of people. That itself is a failure in my eyes. This is worse than a Marvel film.

I have never been more surprised by a movie. Went in thinking it would be terrible and I can genuinely say it’s one of my favorite movies. No movie does male friendship better.
Cap 🧢 Stop lying, it was cringe, big time. But then again nowadays most movies from India are like that, the golden age of bollywood ended in the 2000s.
Based off the one trailer where Bheem throws the leopard, my friends and I thought it was going to be the dumbest thing we'd ever seen, and it was so amazing! We all ended up loving it! By the first fight with Raju vs the Crowd, we were hollering at the screen in excitement. XD We were completely thrown off by the Naatu Naatu scene, but were laughing and whooping the whole time. And the jail break scene elicited more excited yelling from us. This movie was a masterpiece!
And it’s a totally accurate description of one of my favorite Bollywood movies, 3 Idiots! Bollywood/Tollywood winning with the friendship shenanigans 😁
2:29 small correction, Bheem already knows that the little girl is in the castle and plans to befriend jenny to get more information and to get into the castle
True, but I think he had actual feelings for Jenny as well based on the ending. No way in hell it would have worked though unfortunately; he would've needed to be of a very high stature, like borderline Maharaja.
I would love it if in some future pitch meeting, the writer actually comes to the producer with an excellent story, and bit by bit the producer deliberately destroys the movie, to end up with the movie that was actually made. So far only the writer seems to decide everything in the movies, while the producer guy doesn't seem to have too much say in the matter.
It's usually a combination of both, but definitely weighted a lot more on the writer's side. Home Alone 2 has one of my favorite 'producer steps in' bits
wouldnt mind that idea, but it'd be like 4x the work. 1)critique the movie 2) very talented writer(s) work to plug the holes 3) a continunity director checks the new script 4) Writer(s) address any new issues 5) Write a Screen Rant
5:20 small correction, Ram already knows where the TNTs are in that building (Because he is familiar with that place by becoming special officer). So he explains it to bheem by just gestures.
First Tollywood movie I've ever seen. Watching it with friends was an absolute riot. Bad guys getting wrecked by animals was lovely and reminded me of Jurassic Park 2.
I cant watch these corny indian movies. Why are they all so bad? They are always so exaggerated. Why cant they make serious movies like Koreans do? There is like 2 Indian movies I ever liked, that being Detective Byomkesh Bakshy and Dil Se. India has such good potential. Cool enviroment, nature and all. // from an half Indian
For me because its intentions are entirely earnest. Despite how rediculous it gets it's totally without Hollywood - tropes, cynicism and politics - which is so refreshing. It does include many Indian film tropes though and the theme of a strong man getting brought low then fighting back to triumph is common. All that aside, yeh throwing a leopard at someone was cool.
Fan of pitch meetings since 2017. I never imagined a movie made in my native language & in the city I live in (from one of my favourite directors) will be featured here. Really proud of S.S.Rajamouli. Never anticipated RRR to be this big.
Random American here, but that movie was unbelievably great. Recommended it to like everyone I know. My friends loved it. S.S. Rajamouli officially has street credit here.
That movie was basically an anime. Superhuman badass protagonists with a heart of gold, comically evil villains, epic monologues and fight scenes and a cringe love story.
@@AdityaChaturvedi28 most villains are comically evil in american, Japanese and Korean films too tho. Agree with everything else. RRR absolutely nails the power of friendship part.

RRR is so unbelievable that ryan has to put snippets of that scene happening to reconfirm that they did happen. This is the first time i seen a pitch meeting doing it. Also, RRR is first a working title with the names of the three leads, Ram charan, Rama Rao and Rajamouli(Director). The name became so popular that they did not want to change that and just made a title around it
Actually the lead name expansion became a 'backronym' . Originally it was called 'Ranam, Raudram, Rudiram' (War, Valor, Gore)....Telugu words (Sanskrit roots). Even though it rolls off the tongues of Telugu speaking people, they felt it would be hard for the North Indians (who have speak Hindi a hotch-potch of Arabi-Persian-Sanskrit derived words). So, while looking for an alternative name they 'joked' that it stood for the names of the actors/director. Eventually they chose 'Rise, Roar, Revolt)...to attract non-Indian audiences too.
@@omnicurious2949 Ranam rauddam rudhiram title is announced during 2020 while the rrr with actors and director names is announced in 2018😅😅. been following this movie from the inception
Saw RRR couple months back(I think?) on Netflix with husband and (since I’d missed a chunk of the beginning) I kept saying to my husband there’s no way that Raju is a bad guy because he’s too good looking 😂. Even though my husband kept telling me Raju is with the British guys I was in total denial because he was too handsome and charming to be a villain. And then I was right! Ha!
Well, u do know ted Bundy right? Super charming and good looking. Turns out he was a serial killer murdering girls. Even in jail he received lots of love letters. It's very messed up, but perception on the basis of looks is huge, that's why murderers and r*pists are always shown to be ugly in movies
Been a fan of pitch meetings from a long time ...never thought I would see an Indian movie pitch meeting. All thanks to S.S.Rajamouli. And as usual loved the pitch meeting.
A friend's husband had us sit down and watch this a few months back. We ended up loudly cheering like we were rooting for a sportsball game. It was amazing and I can't recommend _RRR_ highly enough!
For anyone who saw this before watching the movie, it may seem like an insane series of events. However, I assure you, RRR is many levels crazier than whatever you're expecting. Great film.
Oh yes, oh yes it is. The thing here is that this is just the usual amount of chaos for a pitch meeting, which always make the movies seem weirder than they are. This movie goes well beyond what you could possibly expect it to and the meeting simply didn't adapt to that.
That's because most of the well-known clips of Bollywood movies are of either ppl dancing around like they inhaled quite the cocktail of substances or ppl straight up fighting like enraged gods with all odds on their side¹. ¹ ruclips.net/video/Q6oMqF_WBw0/видео.html
I finally saw RRR b/c of this Pitch Meeting and LOVED it! Basically it’s 5 movies in one! And who can resist Beem hurling a motorcycle at soldiers and then picking it up to ride it! Bravo!!!
Also the "inconsistencies" depicted here are better explained in the movie than he makes it seem. E.g. I think the display of the guy fighting the crowd is extremely well done and makes mostly a realistic impression on how it works without getting to superhero level.
frankly, most movies like this try to stay on the border between realism and ridiculousness, and that tends to ruin everything but in this movie, ridiculous stunts and action scenes weren't avoided, they were embraced to their absolute limits, creating a movie I was very surprised I liked so much
I mean, if you are doing something incredibly cool with it, ridiculousness is allowed then, it just adds to the charm of it. If you are not doing something cool with it, then it just looks stupid; RRR reallynsidestepped that pothole.
A lot of Indian movies go beyond ridiculousness and believability. RRR was tuned down A LOT compared to other Indian action flicks. I think it is passed exactly the right amount into the lands of ridiculousness, but not so far, that you would just bang your head about how stupid it is.

This movie worked because even though it was over the top, fictional movie and story, the struggle of Independence was real. The history is real and that's why it all makes sense, even though it shouldn't. This plays out well with our emotions, especially the last scene, when the blood was spilled over the crown logo, that scene brought a lot of emotions
"man throwing leopard at another man" is what caught the foreign people's eye and made it trend globally but the conviction & sincerity of filmmakers actors is what made RRR a true global hit

Loved that this touched on the leg healing leaves after the piggy back fight scene (that's a sentence I wrote!). After seeing the film (on IMAX, highly recommended if it get's a rerelease) I made a (if I'm honest pitch meeting inspired) joke to my wife about the poor writer who spent ages putting in call backs and set up for that fight to be vaguely logical only to be told that there's going to be a fight in the next scene that needs him running around and going "fine then, magic leaves!" in exasperation. Never thought I'd see the genuine Pitch Meeting article! Also can't believe the dance off didn't get mentioned - dancing the British into submission is tight!

5:21 'how could they have known which room to throw the flaming motorcycle in'
That's actually one of the few things that make sense in this movie, the next scene where everything explodes shows clearly that every room was filled with explosives, it's an ammunition storage facility, every room goes boom
good point.
Because Raju worked as police officer in the barracks..So he is aware of intricate details of the building where everything is stored..
Actually he explains why he does pullups in the jail,it is situated at the front of the palace and he sees them unload the gunpowder there,so he does pull ups to look at palace while not being too obvious, atleast he isn't stupid enough to workout on one meal per week 🤣
@@Raghu155_ I think that scene is just to show that he is still motivated to take the weapons. He keeps looking at the building and he keeps training cause he is still focused on his task and hasn't given up, not cause he's scouting. At least that's what I got from that
But, why place large quantity of TNT on an obvious Administrative building with glass windows and fancy facade. Ammo Storage facilities even at the 18th century much less in the 20th are big bunker type and far away from personnel buildings.
Anyway. TNT don’t go Boom by throwing something burning, they’ll just burn. You need a Detonator attached to an Explosive Booster that is attached to the TNT for it to explode.

@Wasim Ahmed Me too. Although i thought bahubali 2 was bad, i still went in hoping for a meaningful movie. Going in, i thought it is going to be about aluri's freedom struggle. So far only the writer seems to decide everything in the movies, while the producer guy doesn't seem to have too much say in the matter.

For me because its intentions are entirely earnest. Despite how rediculous it gets it's totally without Hollywood - tropes, cynicism and politics - which is so refreshing.
Eventually they chose 'Rise, Roar, Revolt)...to attract non-Indian audiences too.

also if this was a western movie they could have tried to capitalize on the bromance but this is just a perfect friendship
Lmao what story? It was basic as fuck. The only enjoyment from this movie is from seeing them do this dumb shit. Perfect stoner action flick🤣🤣
Wdym by capitalise on the bromance? Make them gay?? Bromance in the first place is just platonic strong male friendship.
@@samuraijosh1595 I think they ment more on the line of trying to appeal to the woke culture and cross the line by opening stating they are gay or give small hints they or artificial induce that feeling even though we know as a historical fact they weren't gay and are respected freedom fighters of India
@@DaveTucker-ip3pg validate them westerners
iam an indian
and idk why out of all good movies this got global recognition
I saw the movie, it was pretty good. I recommend RRR; it even has musical numbers in it. I'm always a sucker for musicals with a great story to go along with it. It's a long movie (over 3 hours) but you really don't notice it.
Please watch 3 idiots (most loved Indian movie ever in India, China, South Korea and many Asian countries)..And also
This movie has been shown in South Korean schools. (movie with great music and story)
Still better than Cats tbh
@@gostavoadolfos2023 Being put on a rack and tortured is better than Cats. Set the bar higher.
Bheem: I'm gonna need you to get all the way off my back.
