fextralife is particularly bad about this it all started when they just so happened to put up that damn elden ring wiki before anyone else did, so it became THE elden ring wiki, and anyone who visited the page counted as a viewer on twitch altho admittedly i think i still prefer that over fandom holy shit does fandom suck

Maybe the cache of the user sessions reached its time to life and when the cache expired all user session commited an additional request. That wold make 1.25b requests. the other 150m could either be more users that logged in after work, or actual people on YT watching the video because of the social media traction.

RUclips can absolutely automatically correct for this. It's not anything technical like player context analytics, just a database update that removes 1.39 billion from the view count manually.

I actually had to use discord support when my account got hacked. And honestly I have to say they were really good and fast about that, In a matter of hours I got my account back fully restored enough. That is my only experience with discord support and it was extremely delightful how fast they fix the problem.
Also, for those of you who don't know. Everything that devs work on is reviewed by AT LEAST 1 other dev on their own machine and then the code is deployed to an internal server ("company wide") so that they can further test it before releasing it to the public. So it's basically impossible that a company this size didn't know what was going on
