As much as I love this new machinery, something is missing now. Guys jump in, press a button and play on their phone for few hours. No pride in owning anything or being able to fix it. Are those days really gone already?
You have never run machinery like this. You are constantly assessing everything. You could not operate this width and speed without cpu. I ran beside the combine I cut my teeth on when I was 16( an8820 titan II) 2 weeks ago. My uncle bought it from my dad in the 2000’s. He needed help bringing in a monster canola crop. He was going 1mph max. I was going 6.3mph only loading to 75% on an s690. There is zero time to look at a phone. A mistake @ this speed or too much product means 4-6 hours of unplugging or worse.
