Mwakazi today has shown you the secret as to why apartment living is appealing in Kenya for the middle and upper middle class. it is because of the shared amenities that come with the apartment complexes such as swimming pools, gyms, kids p[lay areas, club houses, communal power backup, security, ample parking, rest areas, coffee shops, proximity to shopping etc. If you have the same amenities in a single home you would pay through your nose because you would bare all that cost alone
I wanted an apt with a swimming pool I moved to one with a gym and never used it. Some of these amenities you will never use them that is a lesson I learnt. That's why also the pool looks pretty neglected.
Actually this is a place for anyone not just average earners, you can be having lots of money and you don't want to get accomodations in extremely expensive areas like Runda,Kitusuru etc hence live in such areas.
My brother they are not beyond us. They have it, we have it too! Just a bit of tweaks here and there and we'll be at par. There's a reason Nbi was voted best city to travel to 2024 in the world.
